Thread: Noticed a detail in my most recent dreams

My boss likes to say that there is no such thing as a coincidence, and I think I mostly agree with him on that.

Now to figure out what it means though we would need to know more about you and your waking life to tie it together somehow.

Well... nothing really important has been happening in my life really. I lost a lot of weight over the summer (nearly 50 pounds)... but other then that, nothing significant. Well, I did get a girlfriend for like... two weeks. What happened was she was down in my city for three weeks... we met each other at the mall. The first week we just talked, and became instant best friends because of how similar we were. We both wanted to be biologists, out favorite colors were red and black, we both were concerned about the future of our planet, and we both had a bumpy past. We also both had ADD and Depression. The only difference was that I have Social Anxiety and she was more like a social butterfly. But then after the first week of almost constant hanging out.. we fell for each-other. It didn't feel forced, it felt natural, like this was supposed to happen... but this was short-lived. We spent a nice two weeks together, but then she had to leave and go back to NY. I knew it would be impossible for me to see her, and she knew it would be impossible for her to see me, so we decided to break contact then and there, which was hard.

For some reason, I wasn't too upset about it... I knew it was coming, and the two weeks I was with her, I was slowly preparing myself for it.

Oh wow... I'm feeling these emotions coming back to me.. it feels like I'm going to cry.. it's like they've been buried and I Just uncovered them...

I think the girl in your dreams and the two week girlfriend may be related subconsciously. The dream girl may be your longing for a relationship with a girl.

Alternatively, the dream girl could be the more feminine side of you.

But... if thats the feminine side of me... did I just have sex with myself? xD

Anyway, I think what you say may be true. I've always wanted a GF, and people say that I look good enough that I could get one easily (I don't like to think that way about myself, I don't like people who do either, they feel so full of themselves...) but it's just my social anxiety that holds me back. The only reason I got my first 'gf' over this summer was because socially wise, she was the exact opposite of me. And emotionally too, despite her depression (probably due to her depression meds, though when I take mine they don't make me suddenly all happy and stuff, I just feel normal, content, at ease) she was like a bottle of soda if you shook it up...

Sorry. Lost focus of the main topic.. but yes, I think your right. I think my sub-concious is telling me to get into a relationship with someone.

Well, technically, yes, you did have sex with yourself, since you were the only person actually present.

But yeah, I do think that it means you probably wish you had someone else.

I agree with JoannaB that the girl is probably a representation of you feminine side; one could perhaps narrow it down to your emotional self, part of yourself that is connected to your genuine feelings. Often those parts in dreams of men are represented by a female, and not the least a younger girl, a child even. Men often identify with their rational parts of themselves, so the emotional parts of themselves get a feminine character in dreams. Because one's psyche seems to strife for wholeness, it tries to connect to the other side, for instance, to one's emotional side, which then is a common content in dreams. So one could say, generally speaking, that these dreams can be a reflection on your relation to your inner emotional or feminine side, which is stimulated by your experience with women in the outer world -- and vice versa!

These dreams are connected, dreams with similar contents make up series of dreams. If one is interested in dreams one should write them down, not the least because then you find dream series, and those are very valuable, because it is easier to understand a series of dreams than a single dream. If you have several dreams about the same issue, your get a lot more information about it, and you will see that the dreams react on your reaction on them -- you actually get a kind of dialogue which ultimately lead to an understanding of yourself which otherwise wouldn't be possible (except, perhaps, if you went to a professional analyst). At least this is my experience.

DREAM 1
You felt in prison without a girl or that specific girl, or you felt that way when with her maybe because you knew you'd break up. But you really wanted her, and to protect the reality of having her.
Did you ever like a girl named Susy, in real life or film? Or was there a Susy you knew who lost a guy or was separated, or reminds you of her? Or maybe you just like the name or it's a general nice girl's name to you, or have some other association with it.

DREAM 2
But the idea, or your experience with that girl, crashed - it did not stay in flight or hover in place. So the girl was in danger of being eaten, or taken away, or your view of a her or a girlfriend was.

DREAM 3
And so, you don't want that, but instead want to be intimate with her, or one.
