Strange, heavily guarded temple or fortress.

I am a 24 year old guy with a mostly stable upbringing. I am in a great relationship and I have full time job.

I have attained lucidity numerous times yet I've never been able to take control of my dreams. Whenever I've tried to force it the dreamscape has collapsed. Either in a blazing inferno, a tidal wave or a fade into darkness.

So naturally I accepted my dreams as beyond my control and just went with them whilst staying aware of the fact that I'm dreaming.

To the point. This lucid dream in particular came a few years ago. However I still remember it as clearly as if I just woke from it.

I was in a marvellous coastline landscape. In front of me I had an amazing sunset over high seaside cliffs, behind me a thick yet tidy ancient forest.
On the tallest cliff sat an enormous stone structure, shaped like a circular Mayan pyramid with towers cropping out of it, along with bridges leading to smaller dome-like structures.
Moss and ivy was climbing across the walls in a neatly kept manner, as if tended by a gardener. Red tile detailed the roof sections leading up to balconies and eventually the main dome of the roof.

I almost immediately felt a calling from deep within the structure. Numerous hooded guards in red and orange robes (think hooded shao lin monks with spears) were patrolling the balconies and surrounding grounds. It occurred to me that these guards were not human. I would be no match for them.
I was disembodied and could fairly easily sneak past them through the walls as if they weren't solid. They did however seem to sense my presence and I knew I had to move quickly.

I made my way through the corridors, following the intense feeling of coming home as if I was being called towards a source that radiated a warm welcoming signal.

Eventually I reached some form of safe, with an exceedingly complex locking mechanism. Luckily enough I could simply ghost through it and look past the door.

I was met with a parchment in a book that filled my entire field of view. A language which I didn't recognize spelled out various strange symbols. It was as if a silent voice was trying to tell me something. Eventually everything clicked and it were as if thousands of pages were being displayed to me simultaneously. The book had synchronized its language with me and it spoke directly to me in a way words never could. I was firmly linked to this book. And it poured all of its knowledge into me, it was a surge beyond imagination. It literally felt as if the entire universe rushed to tell me everything it knew.

This event alarmed the guards and I soon felt myself impaled by their spears and torn from my connection with the book. I woke up with a jolt and rushed to write down the fleeting pieces of the book that I could still grasp in my mind.

      Only this one sentence survived the gibberish that remained as I was coming around;

Dwell not upon your life and its demise.
View your mortality through immortal eyes.

If anyone has any kind of clue as to what this might mean or what might've caused it, I'd appreciate it a lot. I keep getting reminded of this dream and it's bugging me.

For the record, I don't do drugs.

      Thanks in advance!

      Hello Cdreamer,
It seems quite likely that you visited what are called the Akashic Records. Try googeling it. Also look up people's accounts of it on this site. I really like the passage that you were able to remember. It seems very profound and wise.

Okay, I'm not gonna lie. I'm a skeptic and I probably always will be, but reading about the akashic records sent chills down my spine.

Summing up human history and future, our ripples in this universe in the present through the Voyager probes... And through who knows what in all possible futures, simultaneously. That's a pretty accurate description of a small portion of that surge. It's so hard to put it into words. It was like stepping out of the flow of time completely.

Thanks a lot for the heads up, I'm gonna do some digging and will post any updstes here as I go along.
