      Realistic Dreams or Hallucinations?

When I was younger, I recall having multiple times where something completely unrealistic happened, and now I don't know if they're dreams or just hallucinations/my imagination.

First example: When I was younger, I was in my room, and suddenly I looked at the wall and these weird, short gnomes appeared. they just stared at me and played with my times. It wasn't terrifying or anything, but my room and the gnomes were so realistic looking that I don't know if I was imagining it or if I was dreaming.

Another time, I was in a different room, and I looked at the wall and short gnomes walked in again, this time with a cart. Again, they stared at me, and just played around.

The last one was when I was in bed and I was reading... or at least, trying to read. I was looking at the page in the dark, but I could not see any sign of text. Nothing. The pages were all completely blank! I kept looking through the book and squinting, but I couldn't read. I remember putting down the book and giving up.

These were creepily realistic and I'm really curious to wether or not I was actually awake. Has anyone had a similar experience/know anything about this?

      Hey lady
Every time I experienced a unreal realistic experience and I can't remember if I was dreaming or went crazy I usually ask myself these questions
      - What I did in the day when the event happened ?
      - What I did before the experience ?
      - (For the read case) Why I was trying to read, why I wanted to read ?

Even if the dream is frickin' real it always have a plot hole where you can't conect things
"I'll wait here by your side
      'Till you fall asleep
      I'll wait until you cry
      All over me
      the tears you hide inside"

      Sweet Dreams!

For the first two questions, I can't remember because the dreams were a few years ago. The day after I didn't really question it/never took the time to try and figure out wether or not it was a dream. For the third one, I was trying to read because that's what I like to do before going to bed. It's something I did every night.

      I have!
      I was young as well
Lying on the bed in my room, watching and the clock.
And I could see the clock slowing up, the ticking went slower, and slower, and slower, I could hear one TICK every 3 seconds
I could even feel my heart beating in slow motion
I turned my head away, and I was moving in slow motion. I got freaked out, so I wanted to get out of bed, and it was allllll soooooo sluggggiiishhlly slowwwwww.
It went for about 20seconds (real seconds, not slow-mo ones) and then it stopped.

Interesting... Do you remember what you did after that happened, before it happened, etc..?

      I dont think so.
It's like someone cut out my memory before and after - but it doesnt feel like it was a dream either, because I never woke up ... uh.

I've had a very similar experience! When I was very young, like age 4 to 7, whenever it became dark, I could see animated images moving around. I remember these visuals being crisp clear. Like I was watching a cartoon. In Hd with the dark background. I would see a dog or bouncy ball or floating ice cream cone just moving around, they came to life but still in cartoon form. Till this day I can't tell if they were dreams or just hallucinations

I would tell my mum I can see these things and she'd just laugh it off and say, that's nice dear ....

Hallucinations at early ages may be possible. I believe I've had a few of those myself, around 4 or 5. On a couple of occasions, they had been sudden, brief voices out of nowhere when no one else was present, and on a couple of others where I had placed myself in a closed space for fun (like a closet), they had been a high pitched whine from nowhere that continued increasing and increasing in pitch until I was scared enough to leave.

Now, how accurate those memories actually are, and whether they were actual hallucinations like I think they are or actually dream memories that I somehow mixed up with my waking life ones at that age, I honestly can't say 100%. My brother has told me about some experiences he had which also sound like they could have been a form of early-life hallucination.
