My dreams are generally very, very realistic and detailed - however, there's always that one detail that doesn't seem quire right (Which normally throws me into lucidity).

which is it (if you don't mind me asking)?

I can normally tell it's a dream because of the mist which surrounds me most of the time but the cloudy skys don't help much with that regard either so I rely on my awareness otherwise I get a controlled dream (which is fun too)

Whoops, I think I worded that wrong - what I meant was that there's always something out of place in the dream world, not that a texture or something is off.

Usually, whenever I wake up, I assume it is a dream unless otherwise proven wrong (Though sometimes I forget that mantra). I RC and such just to be sure which world I am in.

      Sorry for the confusion!

While each lucid dream is different, my most clear and vivid lucid dreams are indistinguishable from reality. In some ways they may even supersede reality in clarity, richness in detail, and vividness.
My Lucid Dreaming Motto - "I have walked upon the the surface of a burning star. Observed events so infinitesimal and instantaneous that they can barely be described as having occurred at all. You... you're just a dream character. And this world's most powerful dream character poses no more threat to me than it's smartest cupcake." - Dr. Manhattan (kinda)

My lucids are most of the time very clear and more vivid than waking life. Colors are brighter and more beautifull

My dreams, both lucid and non-lucid are pretty vivid most of time, exceptions would be unstable dreams when i am about to wake up or such but i guess that's not uncommon anyway.

Guess generally, people's dreams are generally very detailed when it comes to Lucidity. No one had any out of the ordinary lucids? (Like wierdo monsters coming after you)

I went with generally realistic, When I'm lucid it seems very realistic in the moment.

It's a thing I'm struggling with at the moment where after the lucid dream I sort of feel a dissociation with the dream and I can't remember very many details, It really sucks but I assume it will get better with more stabilization/recall/etc.

I've had many kinds of weird LDs, but video game glitches like lag are pretty common for me of all weird themes it seems, haha.

Perhaps another choice should have been added to the poll: Do you care?

Seriously. Lucidity does not equal increased vividness, and vise-versa. I'm not sure why a comparison even need be made.

Some -- no, many -- of my most powerful and memorable LD's were fuzzy, foggy, or just plain gray, just as some of my most memorable NLD's were perfectly real, image-wise. And, yes, I've had plenty of LD's that seemed to model reality molecule for molecule. Vividness seems more a measure of the condition and input of my dreaming mind on a given night, and not of my self-awareness (aka, lucidity).

The point is, it doesn't matter. There is no requirement of vividness in lucidity, and I think it might be not be a great idea to give the impression, even if quite unintentional, that there is one.

Most of my lucid dreams are ridiculously unrealistic; generally everything happens at insane speed (e.g. moving from one part of town to another, miles away, takes less than five seconds). Sound is almost always missing. Smell also, but visuals tend to be similar to physical reality. Generally, nobody talks - all conversation is telepathic (or whatever it should be called). Nearly all motion is by way of flying (mine that is - DC's tend to be gravity-bound).
So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

I do not believe that this thread is implying there is a correlation between lucidity and clarity. The OP appears only to be curious as to how vivid everyone's average lucid dreams are. Mine are usually very realistic, Voldmer's claims his lucid dreams tend to be very unrealistic, and your's don't seem to have a pattern at all. No one is saying that any of our lucid dreams aren't truly lucid dreams, only that the patterns our lucid dreams take happen to be different.
