Reoccuring dream - little girl in barn - spontaneously combusting

When I was a little girl (aged 6-7), I had this lucid reoccurring dream of a young girl (same age) wearing a pretty dress playing in a barn with hay. Suddenly the girl spontaneously combusts in to flames and as the fire extinguishes, she is still standing with holes throughout her body and strong rays of light beaming through. I remember having this dream several times and although I recall it did not upset me, I was quite curious as to why I dreamt it. Recently I recalled the dream and wondered if anyone could assist with an interpretation? Many thanks.

Although in order to provide a more accurate interpretation it would usually be best to have some general background information about you, it looks like something possibly happened recently that somehow connected with the meaning of your striking and recurring childhood dream and therefore brought it to mind.

In the dream, the little girl is playing in a barn which might suggest the future world of earthy experience and instincts, for example, which you would be entering.

She’s also shown as playing in the barn while wearing a pretty dress and this could be hinting that maybe she’s kind of innocent and unaware as yet that in such a place, her dress could be easily soiled.

The little girl then spontaneously combusts but emerges essentially unharmed although rays of light beam through her body. This is in effect a “transformation” of some kind.

This makes her a “magical girl”, a kind of “sister” within and her fate of surviving the fire and being penetrated by light probably was meant to encourage you in some way “not to be afraid of the fire which can transform you”.

Fire in dreams usually symbolizes energy and the emotions, along with idea of transformation.

For instance, in the future you would experience all kinds of emotions, some of which would not be pleasant.

As an example, you could experience at various times the “fire” of envy, anger, hate, sexuality, ambition, greed and so on which can all feel like “hellfire”.

But in the end, experiencing them can lead to the “light” of understanding and a sense of meaning if one doesn’t turn away from their challenges but faces them as well as one can.

Of course, any young child of 6 or 7 has fears and hesitations when coming into new experiences, and perhaps you had, in addition, a generally innate and quiet nature which needed an extra boost at the time, so these dreams came along to help as best as they could.

Anyway, I hope that these brief ideas can be helpful in some way.

Please feel free to ask any questions or to make any comments about this particular way of looking at your significant early dream.
