      The Mynx Tiger

It was in a desolate feeling place, yet it was crowded with people I could not recognize. The people felt familiar - as if
      associates or friends.

The area was reminiscent of a desert. We were corraled inside of a fence. My point of interest, however, was not
at the people. But on the ground.

I remember being crouched on the ground - smiling. I cannot remember at what, but suddenly I feel a gentle bite
and a pull. The type of pull like a dog grabbing your hand - very gently clasping my hand in his teeth.
I instantly turn my focuse and saw. A Mynx Tiger. I do not know how I knew, I've never even fathomed the word or
term in my life. I see it's a little mynx tiger. He wants to play and have my attention. My reaction was fear, as
this animal appeared out of nowhere. Hard to explain but - my brain wanted to fear it, my heart felt no fear - no
similiar response that usually comes with fright. Heartbeat, rapid breathing, etc.., I begin to play with the mynx
tiger, he makes me smile and I am happy. Then the mother mynx tiger appears and I instantly withdraw my hand and
observe her - very cautious. I recognize there is a potential for danger and power wrapped inside of her. Yet, the
response was the same. My brain thought: fear, but my heart felt nothing of the sort. I began to back away,
thinking that it was better to just observe and as I was backing away, I felt the tug again, that playful tug.
I turn smiling and resume playing with the little mynx tiger cub. I felt happier, content, satisfied.
Near the end of the dream the mynx tiger cub begins to talk, but his mouth doesn't move. I guess I just...
understood him. He told me of the time he served in the military, he did eight years and was deployed. I cannot
remember the rest, but the jist of what I felt was that he was a soldier and he was reincarnated as the mynx tiger
cub. We talked for a while, yet I remember nothing else said between us. The dream ends

I don't dream very often anymore. Yet when I do, they're so abstract and vivid. I guess any insight you could
offer me to help understand would be most appreciative. Thank you for reading

Although in order to provide a more accurate interpretation it would usually be best to have some additional general background information about you (and a description of events just before the dream), generally speaking the presence of animals and birds in dreams usually points to the issue of the dreamer’s overall attitude toward instinctive reactions, emotions, vague feelings, intuitions and similar inborn natural traits.

A “talking” animal in this type of dream really boosts the dream’s level of importance, possibly suggesting that you’re at some kind of a critical transition point in your life.

For example, it’s possible that you might have tended to stray too far away from listening to your instinctive side enough.

If so, this has maybe led to a “desolate feeling place” where you kind of know and don’t know others around you and perhaps feel in some way “corralled” and hemmed in overall.

As a potential way out of being in the doldrums as it were, the dream appears to present a sort of hybrid mixture of an animal which it terms a “Mynx tiger”.

The word “mynx” might be related to “Manx” which is a type of cat without a tail.

It also hints at the word “minx” which is the description applied to a cunning, impudent and flirtatious woman.

This is the first hint that the whole instinctive side of ourselves has a positive and negative side.

For instance, it’s fun to play with the little Mynx Tiger cub and you forget the unpleasant situation you’re in.

However, his mother appears on the scene which could be trouble which indeed can be the case when stronger and deeper instincts than those probably symbolized by the cub show their face.

But it’s like the dream advises you not just once but twice that you should put aside your “brain” side which wants to fear the cub and accept your heart side which felt no fear.

The idea might be that no matter what upsets could appear if you apparently begin to let in some more emotions once again, the resulting healthy and happy feel of your life would eventually offset them.

The unusual story from the cub that it was apparently a kind of reincarnated soldier who had been enlisted for eight years and had been deployed maybe suggests you’ve sort of “been through the wars” where your values and emotions were mostly squeezed out for whatever reason.

In this approach to the meaning of your dream, the arrival of the cub on the scene as a “new” and growing form, as it were, probably suggests that you can successfully work at reviving your emotions over time if you want to.

Anyway as mentioned, without knowing anything much about you, this way of looking at your dream might not fit your personal circumstances very well, but I hope these ideas can be helpful in some way.

If something does seem to fit your own situation in some way, you might like to read a couple of books on the subject of feelings such as “Emotion: A Very Short Introduction” by Dylan Evans and “Nothing's Wrong: A Man's Guide to Managing His Feelings” by David Kundtz.

Please feel free to ask any questions or to make any comments about this particular way of looking at your dream.
