      Question Meeting death?

Hello everyone, i come here with my dream so that someone can maybe help me interpret.
I didn't write down my dream right away, and of course forgot some part, but this is what i remember:
I am in the basement of my home, first our dog opens and goes inside a storage room "hidden" in the wall. Later i go in here myself and go to sleep. When i enter the "seccond" dream i am in a room in my deceased grandparents barn. I climb a ladder up to the "loft", here i see several statues and other forms of art. I see that many of them depict the same thing, an man with black hair and beard.

Next i see an rockingchair, there is an black cloak laying in it. I stand here surveying the room for a while, look back and forward several times. Each time this rockingchair is getting closer and closer. I now see an old face in the cloak, i wonder if it is my grandfather but it doesn't quite look like him. The face looks "undead" kind of like an someone who has been mummified. The eyes are "replaced" by an black void. After taking my eyes of it the last time it has appeared right next to me, and the "creature" reaches out an arm and grab me. I feel a rush, like a sudden cold rush of energy. He let go and offer me his hand as to shake it, i do and feel another surge of energy, stronger. He then says "Remember, next time we meet you are/will be dead." I then wake up (but just from where i went to sleep in the dream), and after some time wake up to this reality.

Do anyone have a take on this? I have lately experienced a few dreams like this. Dreams inside of dreams, here i have to wake up from each one seperatly. And they seem to feel more important than other dreams.

I believe that most of our dreams are meant to be feedback to the dreamer to let dreamer know how he/she is progressing spiritually and psychologically. With this in mind, we should not be too surprised to learn that many of our dreams have religious (or mythological or pagan) symbols/images.

The dreamer’s home represents the dreamer in some way – probably his nonphysical body. Thus, the basement would be the dreamer’s unconscious.

The dog finds a hidden room in the wall of the basement. This hidden room represents the unexplored regions of the unconscious. In mythology, the dog is sometimes a companion and a guide to the lower realm – to the unknown. The ability to travel to these realms is a good sign.

In the second dream, you are in a barn. The dreamer climbs up to the loft. Thee are different forms of art that show a man with black hair and a beard. This man may represent the dreamer’s grandfather. Or the man may be a symbol of the wise old man archetype.

However, there is at least one other possible meaning. He may be a deity; he may be Shiva, the consort of Shakti (Kundalini). In Hinduism, the goddess is active and rises from the base of the column (or spine). In Hinduism, the god is passive and waits for the goddess and the resulting union.

The being from the black cloak tells the dreamer, "Remember, next time we meet you are/will be dead." Notice that this creature did not actually threaten the dreamer. This may actually be a good sign and is probably related to shamanism. This is because the death of the ego is a common experience of the shaman.

      Hope this helps.
