      GIven a cross as a present

      Hello everyone. I just had a dream where some guy who I guess is my friend in the dream (someone I don't know in real life) hands me two ring boxes. I open them both and they're both empty. Then he says, look closely, so I looked inside one of the boxes and there I saw what I thought was a ring. It had three big diamonds and a white gold cross with a little round diamond on top of it. When I took it out of the box, I saw that it wasn't a ring - it was an earring. Basically the impression I got from this is that this guy was giving me his own earring. What could this possibly mean? Should I look at it symbolically?

      The man is a part of yourself, and the earing is probably an invented way to listen more and pay more attention to what others are saying. A diamon is likely a wholeness of the self, and the cross is your spirituality. A cognitive or devisive gain that will lead to your greater acceptance from others.

      Thank you for interpreting this for me... I can see now how this dream plays a role in what's going on in my life now.

      Glad to be of help. I sometimes wonder how accurate my interpretations are.

      The dream indicates that some aspect of your own mind (the guy), which may appear to be working in your favour (my friend) is giving you a negative or wrong idea (#2) pertaining to the deliverance that comes via a commitment (ring boxes) - a commitment that the True Self has some difficulty in seeing or believing in (as you open the boxes and see nothing in them).

      The diamonds on a ring would usually relate to the idea of an engagement ring - to a commitment to marry. The presence of a cross on the ring, however, seems to make the ring more like a school or membership in an association type of ring. The cross, being a symbol of the Christian religion, could make this ring represent a commitment to the Christian religion - a commitment that has value (diamonds with it). This idea seems supported by the fact that on second view the ring is an earring. Earrings represent a loyalty issue and here the earring has a cross on it, thus showing loyalty to the Christian religion.

      The main point to be noted in this dream is that it refers to the idea of rings and earrings which are collectively categorize as "jewelry". Your mind is thus giving you jewelry meant to symbolize the Christian religion and in a way that can only be seen as positive (as you get only one earring and men usually wear
      only one earring) Yet when a man wants to show his commitment to the Christian religion he usually wears a simple cross on a chain around his neck. He does not wear this symbol as if "jewelry". {I have noted from many dreams similar to yours that God prefers a plain cross without the addition of gems etc. Only a plain Cross symbolizes the Christian religion. When covered or surrounded with gems it loses its symbolical value. It becomes just a piece of fancy jewelry.}

      It's still confusing, 2 boxes, 2 ears, but only one earing. What could it mean? But she said she now knows how the dream fits in with her life, hopefully she knows.
