      the awakening vulcano

I recently have an re-occuring theme in my dreams: a vulcano....

The dream always begins with me being in a fun place with my loved ones ( a restaurant, movie theater, a camping ground, ...) then I somehow know that a vulcano is going to burst not far from where I am.. I warn people but they dont believe me. Then I literaly see a vulcano growing out of the ground and burst out.

I want to run, but in every dream there is always at least on of my loved ones that doesn't want to leave, so I get into a car (or a van) and start speeding away. I feel intense fear in my dreams. My child is always with me and I do anything to protect her and bring her to safety
while driving away from the vulcano I'm always stopped by an obstacle on my way: an open bridge or a policement that wants to see my papers

I have no idea wat this dream could mean. In all my other dream interpretations, a car or other form of transport symbolizes the way I go forwarth on my life path. Whenever I run away in my dreams (and that is very selden) I usually have something going on in my daily life that I dont want to face..

But this dreams dont make sense, I am a person that deals with problems immediatly and there is nothing going on in my life that suggests Im running or hiding from something.
And then there is the vulcano, I have no idea what it means.....

any help or thought about this is appreciated
      thanks

Apocalyptic dreams are not uncommon. But it is true that I have not heard much in regards to Volcanos. Nuclear Bombs, Floods, Earthquakes -- yes. Volcanos, are something of a first.

Generally, these Apocalyptic Dreams refer to our anxieties and to our mortality... we are all running just ahead of death, aren't we. But your particular expression of anxiety is from deep down in the Earth.

Do you have any history of chronic disease in your family. Where other people have dreams of external threats, yours is from the earth -- the ground of your being is in danger of errupting. When running away from the Danger, you are stopped and asked to document yourself.

Ask mom and dad to discuss what everybody on both sides of the Family Tree have been dying of and when. You might uncover the source of your Volcano.

Possibly, but as he is running away from it, and then the guards who require him to reveal his true self are effectively keeping him from escaping. This would seem to be working at cross purposes. But then again, the Guards requiring their Reality Check might offer the answer to this Dreamer's Problem with Anger Management. the issues behind his anger may involve some dysfunctional identification of his own interestes with something that isn't really any of his legitimate concern, where being stopped and submitting to a Self Evaluation would uncover the root of his Volcanic problems. Maybe.

So, does the Dreamer have an Anger Management Problem?

      Thanks for the replies,
First of all, the dreamer (me) is a she and I don't have familly members with chronical illess, in fact all of my closest familly is still alive. Unless you count in alcoholism as a chronical illenss, both my great grand fathers have died coz of the results of alcohol and my father is a recovering alcoholic... but me myself never touch the stuff so I doubt it that this is causing the dreams...

As for the anger management problems, I'm not an agressive person... although come to think of it, the dreams occure around the same times that I go through my hormonal changes, which offten cause me to have moodswings and emotional outbursts ( this only started about 6 months ago... real bummer but that's what you get when your heading 30,lol). I know my familly have difficulty dealing with me at this times.

      You say:
"the Guards requiring their Reality Check might offer the answer to this Dreamer's Problem with Anger Management."
My husband is always saying that during my moodswingsI blow things way out of proportion, maybe that's the reality check I'm missing.

If this is the reason of my dreams then that would make sense to me, except that in my dreams I'm running away from danger while in reality I don't run away but translate everything I think is wrong or fear in extreme emotions.

Thanks for the help with the interpretation, I was looking in the wrong direction while trying to interprete this myself
