      What a badass dream.

I'm not really looking for interpretation - I think I know what a lot of this dream means in the context of my life - I just thought I'd share it because it was really cool. But hey, feel free to give some input if you have any ideas of what something means.

It starts out in this gigantic, open cave, lit by tons of lava pits on the ground. Half the ground is lava. The cave is populated by hundreds of orc-like creatures, apparently at work at something. I'm one of the orcs. If you've seen Lord of the Rings, the whole place felt like Isengard once it's corrupted by Saruman. So we're being ordered by this big boss orc to find these certain swords hidden throughout the cave. Whomever finds a sword gets rewarded. So we're all looking and looking. I, of course, find one at the west edge of the cave. It's rusty and surprisingly small. My real-life friend Davey, who is also an orc, appears and says "Holy shit! Can I have that?" I say sure, and give it to him. He raises it up to tha air, and it floats up, letting all the orcs know he's found a sword. Everyone turns and looks at him, and bows or something.

Conveniently, I find another sword. Trying to follow Davey's example, I throw the sword into the air. It lands on a ledge and breaks. Everyone sees this. They're pissed. They move in to kill me.

In the next part of the dream, I'm alive and I still have my sword, and I'm with everyone else that found one. All of them are friends(or former friends) of mine, and all of them are humans now. One by one we're instructed to dip our swords in this vat of lava. Each one of my friends does so, and each time the sword goes in rusty and comes out polished and new, with some pretty cool designs on it. For some reason I'm told not to dip mine in, I guess punishment for breaking the other sword. So I'm stuck with a rusty sword.

Each of us are donned knights, and each given awesome sets of blue armor with capes. We're not just knights, but some kind of privledged knights with special responsibilities, like saving the world. Or something. We exit the cave into this hall where about ten people are there waiting for us. My friend Quinn speaks to them. In real life Quinn is the most awesome person you'll ever meet, and in the dream he's a complete badass. He says to the people something like "yeah, we're knights now. All of you are pretty much worthless compared to us. We're the Ones." Then we go outside of the temple.

Outside is this bright, beautiful middle-age city with bright yellow cobblestone roads. It's designed sort of like a mall, with two levels. We're told by our commander to explore the town if we want to, but don't be too long because there's a meeting soon. I go sit down under a lone tree about twenty feet from the entrance of the temple. I just chill there for a while, and a little girl comes over and talks to me. We talk for a little while, then my commander appears and yells "Go!" in a rough voice. The girl thinks he's yelling at her, and she runs off. I call after her, but she's already gone. I realize the commander really doesn't like me. I get up and enter the temple.

This time, instead of a giant cave, there's a smaller room with an elevated platform, maybe a small stage. There are a bunch of seats for an audience, and nearly all the seats are filled. I'm late. I see my fellow knights sitting at one side of the stage, and I go and join them. The guy I sit next to, Talon, says "Tattoo?" and I shake my head no. Then I remember this little temporary tattoo I bought, and I show it to him. He laughs. Yeah, I have no idea what that part means.

So, that's the dream. Interesting how much it reminds me of Lord of the Rings, even thought I haven't even been thinking about it lately. Too bad I never got to fight.

      I agree.

      Tight dream, nonetheless, though.

Cool dream. I take it that it was exceptionally vivid as well. Those are the good ones.

Interesting how in your dream you are always falling short of the others or not being granted the same privilage. Would this be a representation of a low self esteem or a feeling of not belonging, not fully being part of the group?

Perhaps your dream is telling you that you have a little too much pride in others and not enough for yourself.

had a dream that might be related to this...

i'm walking on a path through this real-life park in my town. it's this forested area. i come out into a clearing. it's a really untamed area, tall grass, shrubs, looks like a young forest. seems pretty dry; it's a cloudless day. i come across this feeble black horse. it's thin and long, almost built like a cheetah, but it's a horse. it seems to like me. i begin to lead it back into the park, and out of nowhere, this knight on a HUGE white horse bounds into the scene and rides past me, not even taking notice. this horse was enormous. it was a ****ing behemoth...bigger than an elephant. bulging muscles, too. the complete opposite of the horse i found.

later, i'm leading my horse home. i'm not sure if i'm walking or driving a car, it's kind of hazy. either way i get stopped by a cop. they ask me about the horse, and i say it followed me. they don't buy that. they write me a ticket and take away the car i may or may not have been driving.

      ...that's about it.
