When its not a dream anymore

What happens when your dreams physically hurt or leaves marks on your body even after you have awaken? I have had such an expierence that doesn't seem to fall under EOB's or Lucid dreaming. I was left with physical makings upon me and believe with all thats in me this was no dream but possibly something that actually happened.. Can anyone relate to this??

Well you could have just gotten sleep lines on you from sleeping on a hard object or even a crinkled bed sheet. I have heard of rare conditions in sleepwalking where people go out and streak down the road to eat etc. Can you describe more for me the nature of your marks? It was'nt circumcision was it? Just kidding.

      markings

      Hey ElijahJones

My name is Scott (btw )
Well during this dream or vision I call it, there where these hands that reached out to me from the foot of my bed and grabbed hold of my ankles. I was dragged halfway down my bed and awoke in that same position. These hands left bruises on my ankles that lasted several weeks. The dream though was of a spiritial nature and I feel that it was meant to show me something but what I do not know. I worry at times that same dream/vision will return and that even keeps me awake at night.

But its nice to meet you Elijah

      your markings

That is incredibly bizarre. I have had wierd experiences in my dreamlife somewhat related to that - waking up in wierd positions or other places - but nothing like that.
Could you think of any logical explanations for the bruises?
And why were they grabbing you so hard that they could leave marks like that?
Did it hurt to walk on them?
      Interesting . . .

      Dreamer

The bruising only lasted for about a week so there was no real damage. I talked to my local pastor about this and he gave me what he felt was the interpritation to this dream was to me very personal and real.
Back in ancient times dreams where commonly called night visions so thats why i call this more a vission than a dream. I think it was a personal message of what my life holds even though this all happened many years ago I am still uncertain what it fully means.
I beleive in God and try to walk in his ways and teachings so this was more of a spiritial nature than just some ordinary dream.

Thank you for your reply Anya

      Hi Scott,

That's really weird. I know a guy who's had similar experiences.

Have you seen anything else strange that may be related? Or are the dream and bruises the only incident?

Maybe the dream didn't cause the bruise...maybe it's the other way around. Like when the phone rings and you hear it in your dream. What I'm saying is, perhaps someone had you by the ankles and that's why you dreamed about it. Especially since you woke up on the hallway floor.

Someone could be playing a prank on you, or it could be more sinister.
Then again, maybe you're putting the bruises on yourself and then sleep-walking to the hallway while you dream.

      Dreamers

This was the only time this has happened to me. I think now its been nearly 10 or 11 years ago that it occured. I have had other "spiritual dreams" since then but none so dramatic as this.
I can rule out a prank or someone holding me down since i was living at home with my parents at the time. I believe in spiritual warfare and think it goes on around us all the time and so during some of our dreams we may at time catch a glimps of what we usually do not see while awake. I am not sure totally on this idea but its the only real explanation I have for it. I also believe that one day its true meaning will be fully revealed to me somehow, but for now its only speculation.
But hopefully no one will think of me as insane or something, I am just a down to earth guy like anyone else. This was just such a strange, out of the ordinary thing that happened to me and thank goodness hasn't been repeated.

i think i know what this means, i'm also a christian. i would say that those hands could represent something that is pulling you down, and keeping you from doing the right thing? could u think of anything that you do too much, like an addiction, or anything of the like, also it could be an opportunity you missed that couldve held you down. don't pass this off lightly, it should be important even after that long

      well spoken

Good point Cowman, could very well be something along those lines... I have had my pastor give me the meaning of this dream but there are still questions.. i thought about going into detail more over this dream and telling its story but i sorta felt like I would be viewed as strange by other people who read this... so I have not gone into that much detail but what I do know is that this has had a profound change in my life... Thanks for your point of view on this it was well spoken..

      Finding answers

Well first I will tell you of the dream/vision. This all happened to me when I was about 18 or 19 years old, I am 31 now...

I was living at home with my parents at the time and was going to my room one evening to go to bed. It was raining outside and in our front yard we had an outside night light that glowed bright orange. Its light would come through my bedroom window giving my room an orangish glow.
That night I settled into bed, said a small prayer and laid there listening to the rain and watching the flash of lightening. I can never remember actually falling asleep at any time but I found myself unable to move my body as if I was paralyzed.. all I could do was look around my room.
The walls and ceiling fell away into total darkness and all that was left was me laying in my bed unable to move. Behind my head as if off in some far distant I begain to hear what sounded like people screaming.. thousands of people screaming and it was steadily growing closer though I could not see them...
Then from the where the ceiling was I hear this voice begin to talk to me all the while the screams from behind me where still getting closer.. The voice over my head was God's voice there was no doubting that and all he would say to me was "I have plans for you.." over and over he would repeat that phrase. Still the screams where growing louder to the point it was all around me and defening... sounds of all hell was everywhere though I still could not see them.. In the midst of these voices I could still hear God's voice saying "I have plans for you.."
Still unable to move I was able to see at the foot of my bed two hands come out from the darkness. They grabbed my ankles tightly and begain to drag me down the bed.. fear could not describe what i was feeling at that moment.. for I knew that if I was dragged off my bed I would die.. I had the feeling that there was a battle raging all around me in the pitch black darkness .. I could feel the presence of God and that of evil everywhere... the screams still growing louder but they could not totally drowned out God's voice ... The hands had grabbed me so tight that my feet begain to lose their feeling and slowly I was being dragged off the bed..
About half way down the bed I finally was able to move and I screamed out "God please save me!!!" ..... then suddenly a bolt of white lightening flashed and was back in my right sitting up in my bed.. My cover was thrown off my bed and i was sitting halfway down it.. the next day I had the marks and bruises of those hands..

Now.. my pastor explained to me that this was what he felt God was saying to him about this... God indeed has a plan for my life and Satan was trying to stop it .. it was a war being waged over me because as far back as i can remember I have had to fight Satan over everything in my life.. I have gone through great physical pain, emotional pain that I can't describe but God has always seen me through it.
My pastor said that night God fought for me and won and whatever plans he has for me intime will come about no matter what Satan tried to do to stop it.. Even now I love God but i fail him often.. and wonder how God could ever use me for anything.. but thats for him to decide now.. I found great peace in that and it never happened again...

So what do you think of all this??

oh, this explains things more clearly. this story is interesting, and i completely believe you. god is showing you that evil rages on all around you, and i think the hands represent the world trying to pull you into their view on life. when you screamed, god, please help me, it was admitting that you needed his help and could do nothing without it. God obviously DOES have plans for you. sometimes, i also feel as if i couldn't do anything, and that i couldn't be a part of his plans, and sometimes i need a reminder of this. hold onto your faith, one person really can make a huge difference. think of this, on a lever with the fulcrum in the middle, the level will be even. but just a little to one side, one miniscule, seemingly insignificant thing, can make the lever tilt fully to one side. good luck, and i hope god does wonderful things for you... p.s., lets keep in touch, you seem awesome!

      Hello DreamKnight31,

      Wait a moment,

I had a dream once, although I do not know if it was a dream - lucid or otherwise, or an OBE, but I know I never left my bed.

I awoke one morning immediately after hearing my timed alarm/radio go off.
But I could not get out of bed - too sleepy. I could hear the radio at the far side of my room. I was in the "zone" [time/place] between waking and sleeping, yet I was still dreaming and yet, I was awake and hearing the radio - at the far side of the room.

I really wanted to go back to sleep. I saw [possibly visualized] the radio float across the room to sit near my head. I saw a big red button and saw myself [not physically so - in terms of present reality] push it. The radio went off.

I was so shocked that I got out of bed and looked across the room at the radio where it lay, silent.
      ----------------

I know that it was on, because before I came to the conlusion that I really wanted to sleep, I looked across at it and saw that it was active.

Over the years I have found many possible answers for that situation, but I do not dwell on them anymore. I have found that [by compressing all the information I have learnt into just a few words] <<you learn, you know, you unlearn, you go further>> repeat.

I appologise for not answering your question with a response, only a personal experience, and possibly more questions. I really hope you find an answer somewhere, sometime.

Be well. Stay well. Live long. - only for you.

thank you my friend for your thoughts, I'm also kinda lost still about the whole dream/vision but hopefully in time the meaning of it will be revealed to me in some way.
