      ultimate weapon... the mighty pencil!

so every now and then my nightmares are violent or greusome. more disgusting then random action. it's pinned disturbing scenes. men looking for me always finding me suddenly appearing in front of me but anyways. i always have a weapon handy thank goodness but when i see what it is i get PISSED like no frickin tommorow. always a pencil. what kind of savoiur is that. I once punctured a man all over his body with one repetitively but pencils tend to break and i'm most irriated at the end of the nightmare other than the fact that i'm very terrified, by the fact that i get the crappiest weapon ever. a pencil! i don't know why this would be. why would the pencil be my weapon? i write a lot and i used to have long hair so when it was tied up i'd keep my pencils and pens up there but i don't think those things are related at all i could be wrong but i doubt it. any ideas? i'd really appreciate. i find once i figure out the cause of something in my dream that part of it dissappears for good.

Writing implements in dreams often are symbolic of a need to communicate and/or express oneself. I would surmise based upon the content of your dream that you have either endured unfavorable experiences with the opposite sex or are incredibly shy in the same regard. Your dream self is desperately trying to encourage your waking self to emerge from its shell...but there is conflict. Thus, you misinterpret the actions of the men in your dreams as hostile and retaliate violently.

i understand what you're saying and i didn't think about it that way. however i am not a shy person. i am but i force myself to go out of my way to talk a lot and i'm not at all uncomfortable with the opposite sex. i'm bisexual on top of that if that makes any difference. also these men always let me know what they are going to do something "bad" to me. mutilate my body in some way. cut off parts, etc. and they will sometimes show me on other bodies. it's complicated. but i've been having dreams where men are the "enemy" since i was little getting chased down tunnels and what not. my repetitive dream which i partially solved and no longer have involved a man and it was the one aspect of the dream i could never figure out. but the part about the pencil representing a need to communicate something makes sense. any other ideas though?

You mentioned your bisexuality. I have known several individuals in my life that also walked that path. Sooner or later, it seemed they all gravitated towards heterosexuality or homosexuality. Perhaps your dream self is trying to tell your waking self that you simply aren't as compatible with the opposite sex as you think.

I'm glad to have helped. However, I would certainly listen to the opinions of others as well. As an asexual, my perceptions of sexuality are somewhat skewed.

      Pencil

I think that the pencil is a need to communicate, but it also represents a temporary impact. Perhaps a need to communicate about temporary matters regularly.

      haha

they're usually super sharp like a freshly sharpened pencil which i use to drill holes into the body with it's actually like using a hole puncher on paper, very strange. it seems to be the only thing that makes sense in the dream. however whenever i see that i have a weapon in my hand and when i realize it is a pencil my fear ever so briefly dissipates and turns into anger as i ask my self WTF why always a pencil! before realizing i'm about to die again.

Maybe you're going about this... well... backwards. Rather than furiously stabbing away with the sharp end -- the end for creation -- try calmly flipping the pencil around and erasing them. This solution may be symbolic of a problem in your life, but I'll let you make the call on that one.
