      Weird dream...

I'm not very good at introducing myself, so I will be blunt. My name is Mike and dreams interest me greatly although I do not know much about them. I wanted to find a place where I could talk to people about what exactly my dreams mean, as incoherent as they are.

Recently I have run into certain problems, and I have been very stressed out. I had a very weird and jumbled dream, more random than normal and I was wondering if the people here could help me. Is this dream just random nonsense or does this, or certain aspects of it have any emotional signifigance.

I have to warn you however, I am writing a full and an accurate (albiet only as accurate as I can remember) description of my dreams so at times they may be a little lengthy (bear with me!) Thanks for the help in advance. Now this is my most recent dream:

I was in a cave, it was nearly pitch black and I was trying to find my way out. I was travelling with a group of people, who I knew but were unidentifiable on a hike and I was felt very calm and collected. There was moss growing on the walls of the cave and periodically a bat would flutter by me as I walked. Although the moss on the walls was clearly visible, everything else was completely consumed by darkness.

Eventually after walking through two or three passages I came into a large well lit area. It looked as if it was an ancient civilization inside of the cave. I could see the ruins of old stone buildings and the remains of what appeared to be a wall that was used to fortify the small city. When I got to this place there were several animals and people there. As the color now flowed into my dream I have to point out that the colors were very dull.

To be honest, I forgot most of the animals and the people, however I distinctly remember a couple of things. I remember two monkeys cleaning each others fur, my father and my uncle having a friendly discussion leaning on one of the walls of a building (which were now extremely short, buried in the ground and covered in moss) and seeing the top of the wall that fortified the "city" with rhinos charging and chasing people who were screaming.

I don't know why, but I just knew that that passage (along the wall with the rhinos) was the way out of the cave. I leaped onto the top of the wall and I ran like hell. I didn't have a problem out running the rhino at all as I quickly ran towards a flight of very modern looking stairs. As I ascended the stairs I noticed they looked more and more like a flight of stairs you would find in an office building rather than an exotic cave.

After advancing up the stairs there was an open door, it was incredibly grey and cloudy out side, and even seemed to an extent foggy. I remember seeing two rail way tracks and being confused as to which train I was supposed to take. Then, I realized that "their just trying to trick me" (that's exactly how I put it) and again climbed up the stairs looking for the right door to escape.

This is when I woke up.

      Hi Mike,

I am not good at dream interpretation but no one has posted a relply to your dream yet, and I know how much it bothers me when people don't reply to my posts. So, I will give your dream my best shoot at interpretation.

From my own experience, I often have challenge/journey dreams when I am feeling stressed. For example I often dream of finding my way through a jungle when I am streesed out. Many aspects of your dream remind me of this: climbing through the cave, getting past the rinos, climbing stairs. When I have challenges in life my dreams often reflect that; I will have dreams of challenges. Maybe that is true for you as well.

What I like about your dream is the way you defeat each challenge presented. You climb through the dark cave, get past the rinos, climb the stairs, realize the train tracks are a trick, and keep climbing. I would take this dream as a subconcoious expression of challeges being faced. In the dream people you know are with you as you jouney through the cave. However, after that you journey alone. Could this reflect that in life you have friends who will support you but you are facing some challenges you feel you have to face on your own?
