      Reaccuring dream location.

For a while now I've had dreams of simular places, but different actions taking places. The main one I'm curious is about a house. This house is a HUGE ancient million dollar house that my family owns but wont live in it because it's so old and creepy. My dreams usualy consist of me finding old passeges through the house or taking friends for a tour showing them rooms that were still set up for different people and children that hadden't been touched in years. I usualy recognise the place when I dream of it and try not to mess with it much. If I go inside I usualy try to make sure I'm not alone. I don't know if I really need interpretation, just kinda curious if anyone has any ideas about this one. Thanks

The house sounds like it would be really cool to explore. Have you been through it in-depth in real life? If not, maybe you should...

Yeah, I wouldn't want to go through it alone, either! You never know what you might find in huge homes like that...

      Does sound really neat, though.

      i have a similar experience...

I dream about houses alot. Sometimes it's my house I live in right now, and other times just different houses. I have a favorite reoccuring one that your's reminds me of. It's not a house I know of in real life. But it's this huge mansion-type thing. Sometimes I'm with my hubby and kids, sometimes with my Mom and Dad and siblings...the people are never the same. But the main room and floor always are. I like to break away and explore it. Since I know I'm dreaming I'm anxious to see what's different each time. Twice in exploring this house in my dream I've gone to this abandoned "wing" that's creaky and dusty with no furniture or carpet in it at all. The 1st time I found it I just stepped in a little, got the jist of the layout and got scared and turned and went to explore the kitchens. The 2nd time I realized that I must've led my dream self to this wing for a reason. I went all the way in and explored it all. The feeling I had was that even though it was stark and dusty and lacking in all comforts, that it would be okay for me to raise my family there for a while, even though it was pretty awful. After telling my hubby (still dreaming) we went to explore the foundation of the house. I remeber being a little disturbed by this dream for a while.('')

Not long after this I saw a psychologist on TV who said that women dream alot about houses and that they represent their waking life. She said that each room or story in the house represents different things that are going on with us. I don't think that would apply only to women though. Anyway, now I try to really pay attention to my "House" dreams, and make it a point to explore them as much as I can.

My thought on your dream is that you are trying to let people get to know you, that's why you give them tours of your house. Do you ever take them to the "secret passages"? See if certain rooms make you think of certain people or experiences you've had. This is just one way to look at it, though.

Nice to know someone else dreams of houses too.('')

Wow thats really cool that you are lucent in the situation of exploring your house. I kinda am sometimes but mostly I am not aware that I'm dreaming. That is a good interpretation that I may be trying to let people know me. And yes I do show the people the secret passages. They are weird though, lots of climbing old ladders and squeezing through holes. I noticed recently that in my dreams like these I get really excited when I remember a huge section of the house I havn't showed them yet. So I take em there and they are usualy shocked that it's so big. Pretty interesting stuff for sure. Thanks for the replies

in my dream flat, i had this room i 'discovered' and only occasionally went to, it was old and musty and very fixed and staid. it reminded me a bit of my nanas living room. like you, i found it a bit weird to go in and didnt go in often. my counsellor was very excited by it and told me to read some jung then a few months later i went in and tidied it up and it brightened and was a lovely place to go to. i havent really analysed this but i know i felt great for days after!
