Ok, this was an intense and long dream. I had it about 1 month ago. It starts out with me driving, which many of dreams do, even though I’m told I hated being in a car when I was little. Anyhow…
So I am driving along an expressway and I see a traffic jam about ¼ mile away in an exit loop. I decide to fly over to this pile-up to see what is going on. When I get there I see that the people are simply not moving, and they don’t even care that they aren’t moving. And suddenly, we are all no longer in cars, but simply standing. People start moving, but it is still hard because we are all packed into a confined space. I see a descending escalator and take it down. It takes me into hospital-type facility with winding corridors. This place quickly turns eerie when I realize there are people trapped behind small oddly-shaped glass rooms. These people are murmuring incoherently and it appears they are mentally handicapped.
One of them is loose! A creepy little girl who is horribly handicapped is running towards me and howling. I freak out and start running. Somehow she is gaining on me, but just then I reach a lady in an open room who looks like a social worker or something. She sees the little girl and says “Iris! do you want to play?” The girl is still screaming (with glee?). I start feeling very ashamed for being afraid of a handicapped girl. I crouch down and let her come to me. I give her a big hug and feel intense caring. I want to stay and play with her and learn about this place, but the lady looks at her clipboard and calls my full name. “Yes?” I answer. “That way.” she says, and points to a stairwell going up. As I go, I look back and say, “Bye Iris, nice meeting you!” She is smiling and waving, but to my amazement she is no longer disfigured or handicapped, she’s a normal little girl.
