What does this mean for her?

Essentially, my g/f and I broke up a few days ago and I am doing my best to move myself forward, but part of that is understanding some things. One thing in particular was her telling me about a dream she had one of the nights leading up to when we broke up. Here it is:
She is staying in a run-down hotel room. She gets a call from the front desk that there is someone waiting to see her and she asks who. They just tell her to come and dont reveal the visitor. She goes to the lobby and finds me standing there with a bouquet of roses, dressed to the nines, and holding an engagement ring. The dream ends there abruptly.

Realize that this dream came to her during a period where she was deciding not to continue the relationship.

What do you all think this could mean?

I will add that we agreed last Saturday to be friends and that's all. Well, she travelled out of town yesterday. She had to go way out west and it was a two-flight journey. I fell asleep early last night and this morning I wake up and there's a message from her bascially saying "I waiting here in Chicago on my next flight, and I know we didn't talk today, but I was thinking about you and wondered how you were doing". I haven't returned the call.

      Thoughts please?

I was going to reply earlier, but this forum became slow and unresponsive, I was not that patient. First, I don't think there is enough information to accurately interpret it, but I'll take a stab in the dark.

In dreams, a house usually symbolizes the self. I am not to sure how similar a hotel would be. I associate hotel with "convenient place for sex", how would she? Her questioning who was there to see her is not a good sign, one should just go with the dream and know everything is alright. It shows a lack of faith or trust. In the hotel lobby, does she know what she is wearing? How run down is the lobby compared to her room?

It seems like the dream represented you as much more stable, "better", than her. It could well be her dream mind telling her it would be beneficial to keep you around. Without the answer to those other questions, I'm not sure how accurate that will be.

Might she have perceived you as more anxious to marry than she?

I think it makes more sense to offer an engagment ring in a private way and in a private place. Doing so in front of others strikes me as insecure/insensitve and puts undue pressure on the woman. Line of thinking seems to be, "If I purpose in public, it will be more difficult for her to refuse and/or I may get immediate sympathy/attention if she refuses." Maybe she percieved you this way? It's a manipulative act. At any rate it brings a very private matter between two people into the public eye. It's just not cool. So, in that way, it shows disrespect for her feelings. I'm guessing there was some violation of her boundaries going on. (What have YOU been dreaming?) She may be a much more private person. I don't know. It's her dream.

I think it is not good that the front desk doesn't tell her who is there and maybe not good that she doesn't already expect you. It's really kind of strange. I wonder why she didn't dream that you called her room instead of asking the front desk, kind of a "middle man" to call her for you. You are just a "visitor."

Still, you had the respect to dress nicely and bring roses. Yet, this seems inappropriate for the situation. You are not expected. You are visiting a run-down hotel and you do not give her the opportunity to dress equally and to be prepared to look as good as you. It's sort of an ambush.

l see a hotel as a temporary home, but then, I don't go around looking for easy sex (LOL), so that wouldn't occur to me. It bothers me some, but not too much that the hotel is run-down. What do the words "run-down" mean? These particular words could mean a number of things. Shall I list? Does she feel run-down; worn out; tired. Are you literally running her down--in other words chasing her? Do you run her down with criticism? Women also commonly have dreams of delapidated rooms or buildings just at the onset of their menstrual cycle. So, that is why it doen't bother me too much. It's not uncommon for women to dream of such places at certain times. But this is her dream and I can't answer these questions. What are you dreaming about this?

Ultimately, she is staying in a room and I think that is what she wants. She wants room.

That's the best I can do and I hope I didn't hurt your feelings. 6.5 Billion people on the planet. Give yourself a little time and then, go try another one.

      Best wishes

Wow, thank you all for taking the time. In essence, for the last several months, she has been himming and hawing about all of this, while I have been steadfast in my devotion to her. Perhaps the isolation of a hotel room does indicate her sub-conscious telling her that she should be alone. I do not know if the "ambush" thing has any merit or not. She has always known my intentions and has even many times stated that I was the best lover she ever had and the one she had been searching for all her life. She even said this a very short time ago, and then flipped 180. When we broke up, she was really having a hard time with it (me too). She told during the break-up talk that it was so hard for her to not touch me, hold me, sit on my lap, kiss me, etc. When it ended, she hugged me and as I began to walk away, she said "hey, can I have another hug?".

I don't know. I've been back and forth about all of this and probably will never have any real answers to it all. The saying goes that if it is meant to be it will, and also if you love something, set it free, and if it's meant to be it will come back. Thatis just a hard thing to accept.

To see a hotel in your dream, signifies a new state of mind or a shift in personal identity. You need to move away from your old habits and old way of thinking. - Dreammoods.com
I think the hotel is a transitory phase and its being run down means that she is going through a period of uneasiness or possibly depravity.
The lobby may be the making of something known.
Your asking her hand in marriage is appraximately just that. She is left with the decision to make, on whether to go your way or not, and wakes up at that time.
