      Dream Interpretation

Hello. I am sort of new to the forum. I always had night terrors as a child and that is when I realized or tuned in to my lucid potential. I decided I would change my dream in my favor so the outcome would be different. I could cast characters, change plots, and a lot of sexual dreams in my teens were like my own movies where I was the star and always ended in my favor !! LOL.. I felt I was wierd or slightly touched in the head until I found out (recently) this is a semi-common thing and it is a real thing . Monsters that were going to kill me ,I changed them into puppets or baby animals just by merely recognizing it was a dream and commanded control. However, I always had this fear of bridges. I think it was originally a fear response set in by my very loving father who thought it was funny to act like we were going to drive off the side of a very large bridge. (Burlington-Bristol bridge , for example which connected Pa. to Jersey. ) Anyway, in my dream, I would always crash a car or fall off of the bridge while trying to cross. Most of the time I would drown . Sometimes I would wake before death but I always felt jaded and frightened when I woke. As I grew older and realized the bridges were really ok, I stopped having the bridge dream. (Also,I havent been able to be lucid or control anything in my dreams anymore...very rare now if that happens)
Lately , the dreams have come back. They are scary and I am always afraid to cross. I always go back or stay paralyzed in my car as I decide I can't go through with it.
Coincidentally, I have always felt that I never follow through with things that I start in life. I always wondered if the bridge dream could be related to that. I mean you have too cross that bridge to get to where you need to be in life. I am gung ho about starting a new class or project , but my follow through is terrible.
Any suggestions are very welcomed here !!! Thanks for listening !!
      Carolina~

      What exactly is the question?

It is common to have reoccuring issues that you once thought were solved. It has happened to me plenty of times. Just keep at it, working on it to get rid of the fear.

I don't think it has anything to do with starting things without finishing them.

You might have a problem that's similiar to a phobia. Phobias are easy to cure but I don't know how. But you do remind me of those No Fear shirts that say "You can't steal second base without taking your foot of of first." (That's a baseball metaphor.)

      CD,

I'll think about this one. You asked so nicely. But I'll have to come back to it. Nothing is striking me as obvious.

      Taking a guess.

Bridges are important, often necessary structures that we use to get from one place to another. Sometimes, it is the only way to go from one place to another.

You're stuck. Anxiety and fear are preventing you from crossing the bridge. This is an old anxiety--a recurring dream from your past. Something in your present life has caused the issue to resurface.

      Thanx

Yes -- I'm afraid of a lot of things in my life. It's so hard for me to cross the bridge ...but I know if I do it ,I will be in a better place.
