For several times now I've had dream where a lot of random stuff happened first but near the end the same thing happened, somew monster(s) or beast(s) appeared and I was with a bunch of people, and we tried to run away, and every time it feels like I'm one of the only survivors because eventually I stop trying to save people and just book it as hard as I can. Any idea what this could mean?

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

Dreams have more than just meaning. The Dream would have had a completely different meaning had you faced the Monster instead of running away. So the meaning was not all entirely in the Dream but much of it depended upon your choices, actions, and responses.

Now, perfectly, in such a dream, one should face the Monster and die with one's friends. This may sound insane, and it would be by Waking Logic, but in the Context of Dreams, it could initiate a very important Rite of Passage -- introducing you to your personal Immortality. You see, if you can manage to get yourself killed during a dream, and then if you can manage to stay in the dream, while dead, for only just 20 more seconds or so, then you will experience coming back to Life. From that moment on, your Dream Reality will be changed significantly. Before, you were a scared and frightened little girl. Afterward, you have the full experiential conviction that nothing can kill you, or rather, nothing can make you stay dead.

So it is that these such dreams are re-occurring. It is because people consistently make the wrong choice, time and time again. they run away and run away and run away. They try to invent techniques for running away more effectively. They try to invent techniques for pacifying the Monster or making the Monster go away.

When the proper solution has been in front of them all along... to just just stand one's ground and face the music.
