      Here's my dream, first off:

In the dream, I found myself hiking through a small forest in autumn at dusk. Nothing out of the ordinary yet; in fact the woods were remarkably similar to a woods near my childhood home. I recall vividly the rays of sunlight that seep through the branches and limbs of tree canopies and cast shadow on the forest floor. As I continued walking, I saw two alligators in a ravine off the path I was on. I paid no attention to them, ignoring them and walking by.

I came to the edge of the forest and encountered a large field of straw-grass with a cottage-type house in the middle. I walked to the house and knocked on the door. A young woman answered. I remember I did not ask her name yet knew that is was Cassie. I have never known a Cassie, so this is strange in recollection. We chatted about the beauty of the forest and weather for a few moments. At the end of our conversation, she mentioned that I should get going, for whatever reason I don't know. So I did.

I continued on across the field to another stand of trees, and entered the darkness, as it was now very close to night. It gets stranger here: I felt what could be described as a warmth come over me, and started to change into what in my mind closely resembles a dragon. The experience was intense and vivid, a lot more so than in past occurrances of this dream. Being a dream, I didn't find anything strange about this, and after the transformation, I simply continued walking, albeit on all fours. icon_confused.gif

I come to a building that could be described as factory made of cream brick and a tin roof; not scary or run down, but a little ominous as I remember. I decide to enter, and inside I find a large "lobby" of sorts with a staircase in the middle. In this lobby are several other "dragons", about 7 of them; they all say basic greetings such as hello, hi, nice to meet you, etc... We don't talk very long however; they all walk up the staircase without another word. I follow, and I come to a room at the top with a small cove in the wall. In this cove there is a mirror, and I look into it. I see my reflection, not only distorted in normal dream fasion, but distorted that it isn't my normal face, obviously.

This is when the dream becomes lucid. I notice that the reflection isn't my face at all! I say to myself maybe I'm dreaming, and the answer is yes. I manage to make a few weird expressions in the mirror before I awaken.

OK. This is from my dream journal. The dream itself, excluding the transformation, was actually quite mild, and nothing remarkable about it. I guess the change into a dragon wouldn't be either, save for the intensity and realism of it. I'm interested to know what the "alligators" (I THINK they were alligators) might mean, meeting a girl named "Cassie" that I've never met, the transformation, the factory, the other dragons, and the mirror.

Of course, you don't have to even READ my dream if you don't want. I realize it's a fairly long block of text, but I'd appreciate any input and interpretation, as I've had this dream, albeit in MUCH less intense fashion, as a child, and I never knew the girl's name.

Again here is another instance of what I have been saying, that the Dream Personas are not necessarily coincident with our Waking Selves.

Now, in this Dream, this particular Altar Ego Dream Personality has so much energy behind it, that it could very well someday compete for your Waking Self's controlling Ego.

For instance, during sleep walking episodes or during drunken blackouts this Dream Persona could easily step into Waking Control, but as your waking self has been able to invade the territory of your Dream Personas during Lucid Dreaming.

You should ask yourself whether that Dream Persona is a better man than you are.

Would it ever be proper to allow the Waking Self to be taken over by a Dream Persona that just seems to be a far far better man?

Well, thanks for the reply, Leo! From what I've read, you have a good deal of knowledge on the subject! In other words... cool!

As for energy behind the dream "ego", it's the only part about the dream that was so intense. I have to admit that turning into a dragon (or draconian like form) was pretty unique and memorable, though I don't remember much about what happened after the fact, save for the factory; are you suggesting that my subconcious (alter-ego, higher mind, etc...) is competing for control? Sounds like schizophrenia... I hope I spelled that right.

Like I've said, I've had the dream before, but never to this intensity. I'm trying to remember what might have been different in my life that would have caused this rise in lucidity. I suspect that stress from exam at the university might have had effect, but isn't stress detrimental to lucid dreaming, and dreaming in general?

At the end of your post, you mentioned "far far better man". I'm guessing that you meant my higher-mind, but how do you know that this "dragon" is my higher-self, if I'm correct?

Sorry, run-on-post, but this is interesting...

I'm also confused about what the other events in my dream might portend. It's personal, dreaming, but I for one haven't the slightest about what they mean, if anything.

Quite. THe "weirder" the more interesting, I say! Could you please be a little more helpful though? This dream is the reason I know about lucid dreaming, and also a main reason I want to learn how to have a lucid dream once more.

Sorry to this topic, but I really haven't gotten any help from anybody beside Leo Volont, and he of course is BANNIFIED.

Some things I've learned since then, concerns, and details that might be helpful:

For one, I am a VERY Christian person, so me changing into a dragon isn't exactly... comforting. Still, I didn't feel evil or anything in my dreams, and I certainly didn't DO anything evil. In fact, if I remember right, I really enjoyed the whole experience, so what does THAT say?!

I've also done some research into dragons in general, and they are in many stories in many cultures around the world. Stories about people going dragon-ish (and vice versa) are actually prominent, especially in Orient, but not only there. There are some Scandanavian tales as well, and even some Native American ones. In some of these stories, the theme is "fighting one's inner evil". Again, this doesn't comfort me! In others, like those from Thailand, the dragons aren't necessarily evil, but aren't necessarily GOOD either... I'm confused.

Finally, I should probably describe what I looked like. Well, I was orange/copper colored. I wasn't big like I normally picture dragons; actually about the same size I am now. I remember being more... stocky... that I normally picture dragons, but eh... although it was a vivid dream, I only became lucid at the end, and as such didn't get time to look at myself much.

I never put much value into interpreting dreams, but this particular dream is so recurring and so... out there, that I'd like to know what you all think. Leo said it was like a different person trying to surface, but dragons aren't exactly good in my religion... lol.

Will my christain brother. You have nothing to worry about. In fact enjoy that dream. Thats a very godo claim dream you have there. It doesn't meana nything it means your REALLY claim with yourself. Your bold and such. The dragon most likely is your boldness and how tuff you are. You fea rnothing like a dragon, and the woods is most likely a childhood comfort for you. All of this seems to be infact reflecting your childhood. Like the woods, the dragon witch is in fairy tails, and the women bring in your comfort and enjoyment. Mostly this is what to expect in this type of dream. A claim woods is bound to have great loving old women mos tlikely telling storys and such. Also the trasformation can be from your childhood to your adulthood. You sinned and such. Because also a dragon is a symbol of Satan. Satan is ot sin and such...The wages of sin is death. We grow old and such and die. The factory can be a place that is unnatual to the woods and such. The other dragons can be other people who ar enot yet saved or are just old. Thats the best I can give you. Hope this helps. Also, they can be kind on the outside and such. God says hate the sin love the sinner. So yeah. No worries.

Well, nice to see a fellow Christian on DV. Thanks for the reply; in fact, I DID enjoy that dream. It was a very pleasant dream as you say, but it was the dragon symbolisim that had me worried.

I'm not trying to be nitpicky, but I'm guessing you mean very "good calm dream" and REALLY "calm" with yourself.

Yeah, it was calm and nice. I've been under the impression that the transformation means I'm becoming somebody else, but maybe it just means I'm getting older. The childhood to adulthood thing does make a lot of sense; I'm 19 and going NUTS! :yumdumdoodledum: I've been having this type of dream since I was about 11, so your explanation seems to fit quite well. So I guess I should just accept it as a sign of aging and not worry about it too much.

I have to admit, though, this dream really piqued my interest in dragons. I never really had a special fascination with them until recently. Really an interesting subject.

Sorry about the typos man. I was tired, Plus I try to type really fast so I mess up alot.

Yeah, in christian terms Dragon is to Satan, Satan is to Sin, Sin is to Death. Aging is to death. We shall return to the ground from witch we came. Hope that helps.
