I've been shot a few times, in dreams.

I don't think it really means anything, per se. Simply that, for some reason or another, you were dreaming about getting shot. There are an infinite number of reasons why you could have dreamed of this.
The fact that you could feel the pain isn't all that significant, either, if you ask me. Sometimes we are in-tune enough, to what's going on in our dreams, to feel every sensation. Sometimes we feel nothing. I think it has much more to do with your level of awareness in regards to the event, than anything else.

Being shot would really be significant if you could be certain that it was a fatal wound and that you had died.

Its a very important right of passage in Dreaming to have a dream in which one dies and can stay in the dream long enough to come back to life... it doesn't take more than about 20 seconds.

So many people ruin it by waking up. They think they are dead and that it is all over. Patience, Patience, please have patience. If one stays in the dream for less than a minute, one will come back to life and you will forever after have the self-assurance of knowing that one is immortal in one's dreams.
