Thread: Bombs And Flight

The only other time I've experienced this dream was a while back, and in that version, the story had concluded. But this time around, new details were added and the ending was never reached, yet I knew what the outcome would be. Nonetheless, here's my dream and is open for interpretation.

My disposition was revealed to be that of an independent adult, accomodated in a cozy apartment complex connected to a large balcony that held a pool all residents were free to use. It was nighttime, and I was in the company of a large woman that despite the fact that I just met her, felt quaint like most dream characters, and commanded memories of my stepsister Jeneath. Her small dog sauntered by. In the pool we discussed matters of government secrecy; then, she turned to me and told of a vaguely known project that involved the experimentation of acid bombs upon animals. A clip played inside my mind, portraying the act and the horrible consequence of muffled animal cries under the melted skin. It made my soul stir and squirm in pain.

Very soon in the future, she said, small companies, even individual people, would be free to purchase miniature bombs in case of emergency use. I pondered the prospect for a moment and imagined a world destroyed by the whims of these novice bomb users.

I wasn't surprised when suddenly there was a loud commotion of panic and color. Fire clouds of mushroom proportion proved the result of careless weapon handling, and now everyone was fleeing for safety. As I advanced towards a familiar home inhabited by familiar people, I realized that this scene had played out before, and so with a much more controlled demeanor approached the situation. However, nothing could prevent suspense from taking its toll. Upon reaching this home, I found a man, his wife, and child, and asked if we could get away in his vehicle. He didn't hesitate to agree and preparations were instantly commenced. I emptied out the useless contents of a green truck and instead loaded it with the necessary trinkets that would aid in our survival. But the open sky and air did little to compensate for the little act of escapade. Opening the back gate only made me feel more exposed and threatened that I half expected soldiers or monsters to march in through the entrance, besieging and taking away our opportunity before having the chance to take off.

But there was no time to see the ending since the dream came to its premature end here. Though it can be said that the family and I will eventually mount the truck, and be off.
