      unable to scream

I havent had these in a looooong time. But last night I had a dream that I was lost in the forest and I looked down below and saw my family walking on the other side of the mountain or whatever calling my name. They were just directly below me. I start to yell out to them but no sound comes out. So what does that mean? I havent had those speechless dreams since I was little and its frustrating in the dream.

I used to get those dreams all the time. The screaming would only come out as weird noises, and it usually ended up in me waking up.

I get the felling that I also made the noise in real life while i was asleep, even though I have no record of talking in my sleep.

I don't know exactly what causes it, though.. maybe it to "intense" of a noise/action for a dream to handle.

I've had that too, hmmm, I don't know really how to explain it. ThatBacon (haha I like that name ) has a good point. Maybe when you're trying to scream you're trying to make your body, which is asleep, do it too because it's an intense action.

Arrow Controling and not able to hold my breath

I have had dreams recently that I was trying to hold my breath after exhaling, I believe It was because I was in such a light dream state that I literaly was trying to hold my breath but my parasympathetic nervous system which controls your breathing while you sleep and when you pass out was infact in full function so I could not override that function. I told myself to wake up at that point and as I woke to consciousness I still couldnt hold my breath for just a fraction of a second and witnessed the transition to sympethetic breathing controlled by me. Is that a true possibility? Im new at the web site and had no prior training other than teaching myself. I am a firefighter and believe getting woke up and going to sleep on duty over many years has given me an upper hand. I also in my dream stated to myself I would see color to see if I could. I started seeing all kinds of color controlled by me. I would love to chat with someone professional or with lots of this dream control experience. My e mail is [email protected] Thanks guys.
