      Exclamation Important Recurring Dream

Hi! I wasn't sure if I should put this here or the Recurring Dream section. I decided here because I am looking for help. My friend has had this recurring dream for weeks now and he feels it is something very important. He has a website that he posted the full story on but I'll just copy and paste it here. He believes that it may be a message from God for him. (We are both Christians).

My friend is a 13 year old guy from Southern California. He loves diving, camping, and singing. He is very friendly and feels bad if anything happens to anyone. He has tons of friends. He has 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He goes to church and sings in the Boys Choir. He also likes computers and is really good at coding. I will edit if I think of more.

      Here is the dream...

It is actually very strange for me to have dreams because I normally don’t have any that I can remember once I wake up, and if I do remember the dream it is just bits-and-pieces and normally makes no sense. However, this particular dream is very clear in my mind once I wake up and it feels more like a place that I visited during the night rather than a dream. The dream is very detailed even down to the furnishings yet each time I have the dream I see more detail. Even though I remember the details and what I see and hear, the dream contains more each time. Some things that were in one dream are gone in the next and just the opposite. Sometimes I notice things that were not in the dream on prior visits and then I notice that some things are missing also. It seems the weather, location and time of day has not changed but my location in the dream changes and the only person who has been in the dream comes and goes. I know that I have never seen or visited this place, yet the details and impact on my senses are so real. Smells, sounds and what I feel are all so real. The dreams impact on me and how I feel is fear, depressing, lonely, confused, angry, frustrated, thirsty (but not hungry), helpless and lost. In the dream I can feel my bare feet walking across the wooden floor or the dirt street outside and even the corn field which made my feet hurt as I walked through the stubble. I feel the sun beating down on my bare skin and the heat is so real. The dust blowing in my face forces me to rub my eyes. I can feel the dirt on my sweaty face. The blowing, hot summer air makes me so thirsty. I guess I should tell the dream and let you decide. Please don’t laugh... it is just a dream and I have no control over what I dream. But if you read this and you have had the same dream or anything close to it… please let me know. If you know how to explain this dream and help me to understand what it means I would love to know also. I will start from the beginning which was the first time I had the dream about two weeks ago. ~~~~~ I awoke in a small, wooden shack and I was lying on an old dirty mattress that was pushed up against one wall. I was awakened by the sound of music and someone talking that sounded far away. As I listened the noise stopped or was covered by the howling wind and I fell back to sleep. I awoke again to the sound of music and it sounded like an old AM radio because the station had so much static. The music playing sounded like really old country music. I then noticed that I was wearing pajama pants and a t-shirt and was barefoot. As I rose up in the bed I began to look around the shack trying to figure out where I was and where the sounds were coming from. The door to the shack was missing as well as the glass in the windows, only tattered, thin, dirty cloth hung over the windows held there by nails. The hot wind was blowing outside and tossed the curtains as it blew through the shack. It was so hot inside the shack that I removed my t-shirt as I stood and walked toward the door. There was a small wooden table with two wooden chairs in the middle of the room. There was an oil lamp hanging over the table and was hooked to a wire attached to the ceiling. There was a window on each side of the door and one straight across from the door on the opposite wall. As I walked across the floor in my bare feet I noticed that the floor was made of wooden planks and was very rough and weather worn and uneven. As I stepped into the doorway I heard voices that sounded like men talking but was so faint and the blowing wind made it hard for me to hear clearly. I stepped out on the wooden porch and looked in the direction of the music and voices and saw an old barn about fifty yards from the shack. There was an old windmill next to the barn and its fan was spinning frantically from the wind blowing across it like a hot furnace. Blowing dust and dirt made it hard for me to see very far and when the wind would cease for a few moments I looked into the distance surrounding the shack and there was nothing but barren land and some dried-up fields of corn. As I stepped off of the porch the sun beat down on me making me sweat even more and made me more aware of my thirst. As I walked toward the barn I heard the music getting louder and then it sounded like someone was moving the channel selector across the dial as it would go from music to talking to another kind of music and finally stopped on a news cast. I could hear voices in the barn as I continued to walk toward it. The man making the news cast was talking in a voice that sounded frantic as if he were broadcasting an emergency bulletin or late-breaking news. I could not make out any of the words just the tone of his voice. As I stepped up to the door of the barn I listened and could no longer hear the voices that had been talking and the radio was playing music again. I reached up and grabbed the handle to the bard door and began to pull it open ~~~~~ that is when I woke up from my dream. What a drag! But when I woke up I remembered the dream in very good detail. I will go ahead and move on to the second time that I had the same dream. ++++++ I awoke in the same shack and I was standing in the doorway still wearing pajama bottoms, no shirt and barefoot. It was almost like time had moved backwards and put me back in the shack. This time however there was a small boy sitting at the table in the cabin and he was crying and was dirty. It looked like maybe he had been playing outside in the dirt. His little feet were dirty and I could see where the sweat had run down his back, sides and his chest and had left streaks on his dirty skin. The boy never spoke and I did not know who he was. I turned and looked toward the barn again and I noticed that in this dream the floor of the cabin was dirt. In the last dream it had a wooden floor and this time it was dirt. I heard music again coming from the direction of the barn but this time it sounded like an old “Victrola” or some kind of record player because the song that was playing kept “skipping” or would stick for a few seconds and then continue playing. I also noticed an old broken-down truck that looked like it had not been used in years. I heard the boy crying again and as I started to turn around again, I woke up from my dream. ++++++ That was the end of the second dream that I had and it didn’t seem to last as long as the first one. Now I will move on to the third time I had the dream which was this past week. ****** I was standing in the middle of an old abandoned corn-field. The stalks were short though and I could see over them and there were still dried-out ears of corn on the stalks and the ground was very dry and hard on my feet. The scorching sun was beating down on my back and shoulders and the air was so dry that it was hard to breath. I looked around and I could see the shack, barn and windmill in the distance. There was an occasional breeze that brought some relief. I started walking toward the barn and it seemed like I walked forever and I wasn’t any closer to the barn. I walked, and walked and walked but never got any closer to the barn. It seemed like it was moving further and further away from me. I screamed and began to run toward the barn and the breeze stopped completely and it was deathly quiet except for the sounds of my feet as I ran through the stubble toward the barn. ****** Then I woke up again from the dream. Then last night I had the dream again and I was actually glad because I discovered more and yet it is scary. ========= Last night I awoke in the same field but I was only a few yards from the barn. It was late evening instead of midday and the sun was not as hot. There was still a dry wind blowing and dust and dirt were flying around in the wind. As I looked toward the shack I saw what appeared to be that same small boy standing past the shack in the field beyond. He was motionless and just stood there looking at me. The blowing dust would occasionally obscure my view so that he looked more like a mirage and then I would see him again. I began to walk toward him and as I came within 40 yards of the barn the blowing wind blew the huge barn door open and then closed again. I instantly looked toward the boy in the field and he was gone. I walked to my right so I could see past the shack in order to see the boy in case he had walked in that direction but he wasn’t there. Then I began to hear the same cries coming from the barn that I had heard in the previous dream when the boy was sitting at the table. As I looked toward the barn I heard the music start playing again. It was really old country style music and sounded like and AM radio station again because of all of the static. The crying got louder and I could hear heavy sobbing. ====== That is when I woke up again. Every time I get to a point in my dream where I feel like I can make some sense out of it, I wake up even more confused about it. In the last dream I feel like when I was waking up I was semi-conscious because I remember trying to fight waking up. I was struggling to stay in the dream and finish it. How weird is that? Oh well, I guess I will wait until my next dream. Another thing about this dream: there have been a couple of times when I woke up soaking wet with sweat. I sleep in my underwear and the temperature in our house is always comfortable so there is no reason for me to wake up so hot. I recently travelled to Washington DC with our boys choir and my younger brother who is also in the choir and I had the opportunity to stay with a very nice host family for the week and it was at their house my dreamed returned for another visit. As in all of my previous dreams, I could remember details of the past dream and relaste those earlier experiences and observances to what was happening in the current dream. I must also mention here because of my failure to do so earlier; that all of my senses worked remarkably well. I could smell the dried corn fields around me. I could taste the dirt and the wind blew it into my face, I could hear the howling wind as it made its was across the farm and sent its hot breath across the blades of the windmill causing it to turn and creak as it travelled in its continuous circle. The dry heat felt like a furnace as it blew across my skin and I could feel the sweat as it ran down my face and body. I could feel the hard, dried ground as I walked across it with my bare feet. I could see dried up and abandoned corn fields that went on for miles. As I became aware of where I was at, I became frieghtened and I realized that I was at the edge of the cornfield closest to the shack which was the same field that I had seen the small boy standing in before he disappeared. The howling wind was filed with dust and dirt and it sounded like a locamotive as it thundered across the abandoned fields and carried with it filth and debris and sounds. I heard something and strained to hear it again over the noise of the howling wind. At a point where the wind slowed a little to catch its breath I heard the voice again. It was coming from the field closest to the barn. I ran toward the cries and could only hear the voice when the wind slowed slightly. As I got closer I could hear the cries more clearly and I could also hear the radio playing again just like in the earlier dreams. As I got closer to the sounds I was also passing close to the barn and once again I could hear mens voices talking a laughing and the cries of a young boy. I continued toward the field where I heard the voice coming from and in the distance I saw an old well. As I got closer the cries became louder and louder. As I approached the well, I realized that the muffled and faint cries were coming from down inside the well. As I stepped up to the well and peered down into the darkness I saw movement and a boys voice cried for me to go away and not to hurt him anymore. I told him that I was going to help him and he said "beware of If you can help out please let me know.
Yeah, I know, it's long. But I think that is good because it gives you more idea on his thoughts about it. If anyone can help please give me your opinion. He is starting to get really scared. I don't want him to go his whole life dreaming this without an explanation. Thanks!

Emm, I think details such as whether he knows of any place like this, of any children living like this, or of any detail of the dream which he can relate to his conscious life.

Otherwise I suppose he should ask more of the kids/adults in his dream, or better yet - if he realises he is dreaming than he should attempt to do impossible things like fly, jump high etc. That kind of stuff would confirm it's all just a dream.

He says that he has never been to a place like this, nor seen that boy before. He told me that he can't figure out how this relates since it only mainly comes when he is busy (like on the trip to DC). He also said that he can control all of his senses like smell, hearing and taste. The only thing he can't do is talk or interact with anything. He can't change anything if he can't interact with it. He always stays focussed on the dream so he can stay in it as long as possible and I don't think he wants to make it any different until he finds out it's meaning.
