I rarely dream, but when I do, my dreams seem complicated.

I should mention that I'm currently going through college, and I'm pretty close to graduation.

Anyway, my dream started out with a college graduation ceremony being held by the waterfront of an ocean. I didn't regard it as a big deal, as I live in a coastal community within Florida--I see beaches often. I feel rather accomplished about my achievement, but not entirely too expressive or overemotional.

I was surrounded by my extended family, and my mother steps forward and tells me she got me a brand new car and a video game system as a reward for my achievement. I was pretty surprised because I did not expect her to offer such extravagant gifts.

Next I remember seeing a very long line of formally dressed people lining up to serve themselves from a banquet table. I did not desire any food so I moved on and rejoined my family among unfamiliar people on a balcony overlooking the (very close) shore of the ocean.

I look over the balcony edge to see my two cousins (alive, a few years younger, having just started college themselves), just sort of running about in the sand below. Then I notice a group of people (strangers) nearby engaging in horseplay. One heavy-set young man jumped from the balcony into the water, he was close to missing the water and falling onto the sand. While other around me cheered the heavy-set man on, I felt concerned for him.

Afterward, I explain things about using the Internet to my grandmother (who is alive). The usefulness of posting things online, getting information from things like new sources, things like that.

I leave my family to go tell my cousins that we're leaving. When I get to the ocean shore, I decide to take a swim. I don't remember much about the swim, but when I left the water a strong flash of lightening strikes through the sky. People start to leave the water to seek shelter, and I do the same.

But on shore I am faced with shelves of wet, brown (sort of ugly) sand. Looked like a giant staircase of sand. Everyone's climbing up these shelves of sand and seems like they're having trouble. I am doing the same but I don't have difficulty until the very last shelf. I pull myself up the sand, and at the edge, I have to push aside some boxes on the edge of that shelf--those boxes contained digital alarm clocks. One alarm clock was out on display from those boxes--I carefully move these things aside and pull myself up.

A man sneers at me about how I've moved these clocks. I tell him I'll put them back the way I had found them... and I do just that.

There are people all around me who have just negotiated the shelves of sand. I turn around and say outloud, "I'm going to put on a pair of shoes!" and I just slip on an extra pair of sandals over the sandals I am already wearing. I look back around me and most of the people are gone.

I hear a rumble of thunder and decide I need to go rejoin my family, and I figure that I'm keeping them waiting. So I head into the nearest building and walk through it. I pass through elaborate foyer in which rows of chairs are set up as if they are set there for an upcoming presentation. Someone is standing at a table and looks perplexed at the information he is writing down. This person looks up to me and asks a question about college courses (unfortunately I don't recall what the question was). I took the time to help him and he seemed thankful for my help. I leave this building and look skyward. The sky is overcast and there is an occasional flash of lightening and rumble of thunder.

I stay close to the building to lessen the chances of being struck. Eventually the lightening and thunder worsen, and I encounter another man crouching near another building. I join him and crawl into the next building. At first I am unfamiliar with this building, but I manage to find my way through on my own without too much difficulty.

I stop and sit down at some tables outside. The previous thunder and lightening was no concern now. I remove two cellular phones from my pocket--one of those brand new, slick and trendy touchscreen phones (I do believe it was an iPhone); and an old non-flip style of cellphone I'm more familiar with. I fumble around with using the new trendy phone for awhile, but I don't get much accomplished. So I just put both phones back into my pocket and stand up to move on.

Now I'm out walking in a parking lot. There are a few people I am unfamiliar with. My mother calls on the old non-flip style cellphone wondering where I am. I tell her I am located in the south, and to look for me. We end the call and I continue on through the parking lot, and around some pools of water. These pools are rectangular and outlined with a concrete edge. The pools are full. I look into one pool and see ancient artifacts--like from Southeast Asia. I continue on and join a woman wearing a long red dress. This person seems vaguely familiar to me, but I do not recognize her. While others are walking around one empty pool, we decide to take a shortcut to climb across the empty pool.

After taking the first few steps across the pool, I look down. The empty pool is much deeper than I'd expected. I try to go back and walk around, but I find that it is impossible. I panic and end up slipping off one of the pools edges, and I am hanging onto the concrete edge. I panic and scream for help, and two men arrive. Instead of reaching down and pulling me back up, they are trying to talk me into pulling myself up. My shirt is caught upon the edge of the pool. I find these men to be very unhelpful so I scream out to my mother and father. I do not get any answer. I try to pull myself on my own, but I only dramatically slip (I did not fall).

I scream and wake up-- yes, I had screamed out loud.

Any insight?
