      Question 3rd. person dreams

OK. What is going on when I dream in the 3rd. person. I'm not actually in the dream, it's like sitting & watching a TV show or movie. Since it hasn't happened recently I can't give an example, but it's just me sitting back in my sleep watching a story about (maybe) people I know doing various things Whadya think?

I speculate that third person dreams are manifestations of thought content in regards to phenomenological interpretations of your recent experiences.

      What do I mean?

I mean, you are probably dreaming about how you think about the things you do or think. If you dream about how bad of a driver you are, and you actually think you are a bad driver, then you will likely dream in third person. Your mind will perceive and believe that you are a bad driver. Whereas, if you are a bad driver, but you think that you are a good driver, then you will likely dream in first person.

It also depends on the context of the dream. The above would likely be pertinent of conflicting content between other parties or strives for self-development. This does not mean that third-person dreams are exclusive to this context.

I think it best to illustrate what I mean by proposing an analogy of the opposite; first person dreams:

In my interpretation of dreams, I treat first person dreams as actual, episodic, experiences - personal occurences that you believe actually happened. Or, they can represent times when you are experiencing a certain kind of sense (how often do you dream about pain, smell, etc. in third person? I have found scant episodes).

      What do you think...?

I think I get what you're saying... it sounds a bit confusing to me but I do think that I get it.

You're totally not in the dream right? No you at all, just a bunch of DCs right? Because if that's so, well, I have to say it's never happened to me before, there's always me in there, even if it's just me possessing someone else's body.

You have never dreamed as being an objective perspective with no physical manifestation? You have always been in your body or someone elses..?

What is is like to be in another persons body and watch yourself, in a dream?

Very interesting really, I have to wonder if I'm really them, if I'm really possessing them, or is it all an illusion.

I mean, it's not everyday where you watch someone do something odd and then you find yourself in their body, their body either free for your use or a struggle between possessor and possessed.

There are times when I've been out of my body, but there's still a manifestation, my soul exists as a "body" that at one point of another is a part of the dream, it's only maybe fora minute or two I can achieve an objective perspective before the gears start turning and things that drag me into the situations ensue.

I think I understand what you're saying O'nus, but right now I can't really remember a specific dream to know what it was about. Will get back to you on this if/when I have another one. I have never been in a dream in someone else's body though. Interesting thought, though!
