      "Somethings Gotta Give"

Last night I had a dream that has been bothering me since I remembered it. I was sitting on my couch watching "Something's Gotta Give" and this image from a dream I had last night popped into my head. Out of nowhere.

It was my closet. There was a shirt I had given to a friend who liked it a few months ago. It was hanging there alone. No clothes around it.

I can't understand for the life of me what it meant. Anything would be awesome!

This specific dream is not reoccurring. But the person to whom the shirt was gifted to keeps working their way into some of my dreams.

Although it would be best to have the whole dream as well as background information about you in order to provide a more accurate interpretation, in very general terms the shirt would tend to represent some aspect of how you present yourself to others. This is based on the analogy of how clothing etc. “masks” or covers the real us when in contact with the outer world.

The dream could be hinting for example that you have given control of this part of yourself away, that is, a certain way of behaving may be mostly unconscious in day to day terms. But it’s probably time to “take it back” and make it part of you again.

In this approach to an interpretation, the dream is using the analogy of how you gave the shirt to your friend to make its point. Since you dream of this friend sometimes likely points to the fact that she reflects a part of your personality in some way and thinking over any of her outstanding character traits etc. might help to understand the image more clearly.

In addition, a certain scene in Something’s Gotta Give somehow hit upon the same theme, so it might be useful if you were able to remember the scene when the image of your dream appeared.

Letting spontaneous memories, thoughts and feelings come to mind about the scene in the movie as well as the various parts of the dream image should provide some interconnected themes and a clue to the essential message of your dream.

I hope that these brief ideas can help in some way.
