      Foretold Death, or symbolic?

A little over a week ago i had my first lucid dream, by using WILD, which seems to be the easiest technique for me to use. A few days later when i tried again with WILD it worked. After having two lucid dreams by trying both times i decided i'd try the next night. Anyway these past few days have been hard entering hte dream state, i stay in hypngogic imagery too long and expreience alot of vibrations, and its hard to enter the dream state(without being aware of my sleeping body). Anyway last night i tried WILD again and held through all the vibrations and waited for the dream state to come. I could see scenery and was aware of my dream body, but also my sleeping body. After about 10 minutes i was still aware of my sleeping body and an angel came down and told me it was my time. I was afraid to go because i thought mabye i had died while sleeping so i was kind of hesitant to go. I felt myself being lifted out of my sleeping body and pulled behind the angel. I was surrounded in white and god was talking to me. It felt as if i was getting a second chance, becuase i opened my eyes at a funeral, my funeral. There was snow on the ground and i remember getting up and sitting in the snow. I didn't seem to be any older, but it was in sort of a cartoon vision when i was in the snow. I remember standingup and it was summer again, it was a nice day. I told the colors and the vision to change to normal and it did, so now everything was clear and bright. Then i pretty much followed the dream as it went which was basically a normal lucid dream, but instead of doing my own thing i followed the dream while lucid. The dream was over pretty fast and it didn't really seem like much. Thats not what im concearned about. Was my dream really a second chance to get into heaven, was that really God i was talking to, was that an angel, was that just my iner concoiusness telling me to shape up, was it predicting my death in the winter? If anyone has had any expreiences like this or may know what happened feel free to post it. Thanks.

I know i've already posted this, but it seems to fit in this forum better.

Firstly, what I'm going to say is going to be my opinion, and nothing more. The problem with interpretation of dreams is that a stranger is in no position to understand your mind and its behaviour while dreaming.

I've had some dreams like that in that they were 'life altering' in some way... and seemed really significant.
However, I personally believe it was simply free associations (Copyrighted, Onus.. ) that caused the dream.

In simple terms, you probably had a slight worried feeling about overdoing things with the amount of effort and time spent on lucid dreams.
      And its impact on you.
As a result, you made up a dream about dying because of the WILD.
You could call it a negative thought falling through to your dreams.

Once again, just my personal, out-my-thumb interpretation

To better interpret your dream, I'm curious of a few questions:

      How old are you?
What religion do you feel you fall under or most inclined to?
Has anyone in your family died recently?
Did you feel afraid throughout the dream at all? Safe? ...?

I'm 14, I am a catholic and was recently confirmed(so i guess its been on my mind a little here and there), none of my family members or anyone i've known closely has died in the past 8 years, and during the dream I kind of felt mixed feelings actually.

I first felt happy and free, because i felt as if i was escaping from my sleeping body as I lost the feeligns of vibrations and aws no longer aware of my sleeping body. Then the thought crossed my mind that i had died, so i was kind of hesitating going anywhere. Because I'm only 14 I have yet to accomplish a few things....but I decided to go with it anyway. After that I was kind of scared because i thought that i had really died and didn't know what was going to happen.

Here are some Dream Symbol interperations....they're probably not 100% accurate

angels - symbolic of goodness and purity; if the angel is a messenger from God, then the message is very important and must be given serious attention

death - Deaths can represent either the death of a habit, or occurrence, but more often represents anger towards something or someone

light - Light symbolizes the clearing up of things (shining some light on it). Religiously speaking this is good. It can mean that the kingdom of heaven is in reach

football, first let me start by apologizing in advance if i offend you, or if im kinda off-key here, i mean this to be advice not a scolding...

      1) did you rip those symbol interpretations off some web site? cause it looks like it

      2) dream interpretations are real relevant and possibly revalating things that can help a person understand themselves better, however dream symbol interpretations are generally total BS

...they kinda sorta work almost half the time, maybe, only due to the fact that many of them are ideas or objects that are universally thought of in one way, ie light...generally most people will automatically associate light with those things you stated, but not everybody!

the thing about dream symbols is what they mean changes from person to person...for example, death, to me, in my dreams, represents overcoming an adversary...i dont see that in your little symbol interpretation...

...on the other hand, taking what little information we know about the individual, and how they view things, and the current events in their life that possibly link to the dream, we can give them an interpretation of what that person's subconcious may be saying to them...dream interpretations, if done correctly, are very very accurate, but the major problem in their accuracy is it is difficult to know a person well enough to do a good interpretation of their dreams over a forum such as this...especially newer members...this is why its best to interprete your own dreams, as nobody knows you better than you...

...in short, leave the stupid dream symbol BS on the stupid web pages that claim they can interprete your dreams through dream symbols...they are generally very off, and little can be discerned from them...a FAQ on how to interprete dreams has either already been created, or is in the process of being created...i suggest you check it out, or if its not done yet, wait til it is (it shouldnt take long), and then check it out...

...i only say this, because last i checked you still dont understand O'nus's free association thread, so i assume thats not what you did, but rather ripped those off a dream symbol interpretation website...if this is not what you did, then i apologize

as for the dream, wether or not it means anything as far as precognition as to your death, or wether or not you talked to God, or only your subconcious is more of a personal decision...we cant tell you what you believe...if you want my opinion, i think the whole dieing thind was your subconcious trying to trick you into falling out of lucidity...other than that, ill agree with placebo and what he said

rather than look to some site for what these dream symbols mean to you, ask yourself what they mean to you...think about the concept of light...whats the first thing that comes to your mind? after that? and make your own personal dream symbol interpretations...you'll find these to be a whole heckuvalot more accurate than some random webpage...

I'd say that death in a dream represents death of an old self. Death in a dream represents growth and rebirth.

I believe in symbollic dream interpretation. I don't think its nonsense at all.

well, i suppose you are entitled to your opinion, neil...but as i said...his dream symbol interpretation of death did not include what death means to myself (and im 100% positive what death means in my dreams, as it happens all the time)...dream symbol interpretations can be accurate (for you and you alone) if you figure out what your own symbols mean by free association (read O'nus's free association thread for more info on it), but the reason those websites/books full of symbols and what they mean are BS is because somebody who has never met you cannot possibly tell you how you think about or perceive a certain subject...

Well, as Placebo said, a stranger can never really interpret someone elses dream, but heres my generalized opinion. It seems to me that the dream symbols seem heavily concerned with death/rebirth. You said you were catholic, that would explain why it took the form of images of angels and God. But rebirth is one of the ideas that have appeared in the human subconscious since the beginning of the human race, so it may be that the rebirth theme dosn't apply to you specifically but is really an achetype (to use Jungs' phrase) that is, a subconscious idea which all humans share. I say this also because you mentioned a turning from winter to spring, this also points to rebirth, but it is a more primitive "pagan" representation of it, as opposed to the more refined, religious symbols.
