I personally don't think this dream means anything. I mean, you don't need a dream to tell you if you love your boyfriend, right?

No I didn't need a dream to tell me that, I had just found it very interesting how I found my way to him in the dream.

I don't get the connection between the dream and your meaning - but if it feels right to you then it probably is right.

It sounds more like inner conflict to me - your personifying this by confronting your ex. But the conflict would be something fundamental to you and nothing to do with that relationship. What was the anger you were carrying in your dream? What actually happened in the dream is that you didn't resolve the conflict - finding somewhere/someone "nice" instead.
