      Strange meteor

With most of my dreams, I usually look up various symbolism in dream dictionaries, and intuitively seem to know which interpretations apply. There's a sort of "aha! That's what it was about" feeling.
I had a striking dream yesterday that I have no clue about, and the various definitions online don't really seem to click. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

      -------------
      Dream:

First thing I remember was coming outside expecting to see daylight. The sky was a deep, smoky black-ish blue. Like night time, but blue-ish. My first instict was 'wow, what an amazing sky, I must take a photo' . I was in the courtyard of a very old, black castle/abbey type building. I didn't feel particularly intimidated by it, it looked unused and very old. I wouldn't have wanted to go inside - I felt like I was simply passing through, so that was ok. Similar to churchs/abbeys in real life. You can feel they have.....history. Which can be awe-inspiring and unsettling at the same time.

As I was looking at the clouds to my left (to take a picture, maybe?) I noticed a giant meteor in the sky (on my right) - in the direction I wasn't facing to start with, quickly realising why the sky was so dark. The meteor wasn't quite...right though. It was a dusty grey colour, but with maybe 7 or 8 large and visible craters on it - in the base of each, were bright liquid colours radiating light (blue, purple, green, red). The meteor itself wasn't flaming/on fire either. Funnily enough, it looked a bit like this but dustier, rockier and extremely old. It also had 'intent'.

I felt slightly confused, then curious, then scared, then that I must do something. Now. I don't remember if I tried to take a picture of it or not. Then I left the castle/abbey, and ended up on a footpath with a few small trees around (similar to perhaps small walks on the outskirts of towns) and ran into a few people. There was confusion/light panic whilst also trying to get organized into the best way to escape from the meteor, which was definitely approaching faster. I remember running away from it up a path, back towards what seemed like a stone bridge over a stream, or a stone arch thinking there's probably a town with some kind of shelter not too far beyond.

I looked back, half to check the meteor, half to see what the other people were up to. Then it suddenly dawned on me the meteor's intent wasn't physical destruction, though it was still speeding ahead and was seconds before impact. I was on higher ground looking way back into the distance, though it appeared massive and I saw it crash into forest, then saw a shockwave/bubble ripple outwards realising that it was spreading a 'curse'. I woke up before the blast reached me.
      -----------

The meteor definitions I've found generally seem to be good things, though this dream doesn't seem like the most optimistic of things.

I'm early 20s, my current situation is I'm struggling with money, though the day I had this dream I made a bit to keep me going for a while. I've just started gigging in various places across the country, which I enjoy but it's not really helping the money situation - so there's some guilt there that I should be looking for a proper job. I'm also undecided in what to do careerwise feeling a little 'in limbo' at the moment. I also got back together with an ex (she cheated, we split up, few months later, back together) who I otherwise get along great with, but obviously I have some reservations about this time round. Again, it feels a little 'in limbo'.

Any interpretations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm horrible at interpreting dreams, but the storyline to your dream sounded awesome. I can imagine the visuals and sort of wish I'd been there.

Yeah >.> I'll go away now.

Ha, well if there's ever a film version I'll be sure to let you know
It's 1am here, just off to sleep - perhaps there'll be a sequel...

I think the meteor with colour craters cpuld represent your inner Self(round things often represent that). You are an artist if I understand it right and this would apply - it seems kind of artistic crater.
This old building wich has history could represent your personality in which also other people live...it has history, your relationship with girlfriend has a history as well...it is interesting, how the crater transforms itself...you are saying you felt in a dream, that it isn't about physical impact but it spreads curse of a kind. Maybe you ask yourself a question, something like: is there something I don't wan't to see in myselfr or around me but is hidding as a kind of a tension inside me, tearing me apart...like a curse, a dissease which is spreading inside me...could be doubts about yourself, your job and music, your girlfriend...at he end of a dream you are on a higher ground and the blast hasn't reached you yet...could it mean, that you are more and more in doubt, it occupies a lot of your thinking, emotion...maybe you should metaphorically talk to this colourful and enigmatic crater, find a frequency with your Self to find the answers on your doubts you are facing consciosly? Inner voice of subconsciious usually sees things clearer and is trying to help us by sending us such dreams, the thing is we have to learn to hear and understand its language, which is symbolical...you seem to have good touch with your deeper layers so I am sure it will work out best for all.

      This is fairly simple.

Something recently has come into your life that is unsettling you. You mention that the sky looked beautiful and you wanted to take a picture of it, and you saw a castle. What is happening is that you are seeing both your potential, and foundation of the person you are today but you have trouble implementing it into your art. Hence, you want to "photograph" the beauty you see, but you don't do it.

The meteor represents a recent development that is a danger to you. Meteors represent chance, but they also represent something from outside of your world (or immediate life) invading your life, or simply something that has presented itself, rather than you seeking it out. You saw the colors and you saw it coming (it had a bit of appeal initially), but you knew there was something wrong with the meteor. Well no shit, its a meteor. Meteors are never good. You and people around you know that this new development is bad, yet you feel powerless to escape it. You see the damage and the spiritual chaos its causing, and all you can do is look for shelter.

The answer this dream provides is "run like hell". You have an inkling that you need to escape somehow from something and this dream is telling you that you must do so immediately, and you can't worry about other people (the ones you looked back for... think Sodom and Gomorrah, what happens when you turn back). Just do everything to can to get away from whatever this is.

Also, the stone bridge you cross represents a reuniting between yourself and a part of your past (the stone), and it may provide some sort of opportunity to escape your current situation. Since the bridge was small, it tells me that this reunion is something you can create or find fairly easily.

An idea is something you haven't fully considered.
A belief is merely a repetitive thought.
A conclusion is simply where you stopped thinking.

Thanks for all the ideas - definitely given me plenty to think about - and motivated me to get back to keeping a dream journal!

      This is perfect!

Yes, that would explains the lack of fear I had of such an imposing building, whilst not being comfortable enough to venture too far inside.

Something is definitely bothering me, and I see it affecting me - the problem is I haven't been able to quite place exactly what 'it' actually is and if it's to do with me or external factors - i suspect a bit of both.
(it had a bit of appeal initially), but you knew there was something wrong with the meteor.
It could be the ex/girlfriend. It could be job related - I've always been torn between making music as a career or computer programming. One of them seems appealing, I work at it, then I start to think 'what if I've chosen the wrong one?' and swing the other way. The girlfriend+job are both "simply something that has presented itself, rather than you seeking it out" also.

However, I was yesterday offered a computer-related job, and would like to make a career of it. It's not my perfect job, but it's a great stepping-stone ie it presented itself. I think I decided about a month or two ago that it will be more stable work and I can follow the music up in free time. I'm not sure if the dream was a warning that this path is a bad idea or the ex is. Or something else entirely. But those are the two things on my mind mostly.

The bridge interpretation is interesting, I think I was giving too much attention to the meteor upon waking. I definitely feel like I got a little lost about 4 years ago and have had an urge to 'get back on track' ever since. Again, I think starting the job will be a factor in determining if I'm back on track or not.
The one thing that says to me it's about the ex, is the idea that if I look back it will only end terribly. In the dream/(subconcious?) I seemed to be aware of that.
I think what I've taken away from it all is, I seem to have enough power to change these situations (hence the bridge being small?) but I'm going to have to start making some firm decisions!

I really appreciate that people took the time reply - I think I'll be hanging around the forums and reading up on some of the guides - many thanks!
