      Disturbing Dreams

Okay I have stopped trying to have lucid dreams because I have had bad sleep

paralysis experiences and just writing about SP and LD's alone give me the chills

and goosebumps. But anyways I do have a sort of reoccurring dream

phenomenon that Is very disturbing to me. I do not have nightmares, and have

not since I was a child. But the closest thing I do have, which sometimes

disturbs me even more is whenever I dream about Rides, like you would find

in an amusement park. I always dream of the carnival or in this case kings

island (big amusement park in ohio). Ill start with kings Island. In reality it is

a very nice safe comforting fun place that I always enjoy. But in my dreams

it always has a skewed layout. They layout is very different than in reality,

but It has the same basic rides. But there is usually one big daunting ride that

I seem to conjure up in my dream that doesn't really exist. And usually but

not always, something bad happens on that very ride. But the funny thing is,

I am never on the ride. I am in line for it (as was the case last night) or walking near it. But I always am uncomfortable in my dreams because I sense

something bad is going to happen. And then shortly thereafter the ride breaks

down and it will fly off the track or If I see drop zone (verticle drop ride in kings island)

It will just crash to the ground and usually everyone is seriously injured or dies

but not always. I just dont know why I have this reoccurring dream. And

furthermore, I dont know why it is so disturbing to me. The very thought of

a ride in my dreams makes me uneasy. And whenever I have this reoccuring dream

which can be at Kings island, a carnival or somewhere I made up in my dream

it sticks with me and really bothers me for a day or two. Any ideas on what

this could represent? It is just so damn disturbing, I dont think you guys can

really understand, I mean how could you? It is something that is a very

uncommon fear i guess, well its not really a fear, because In reality I ride everything

and I am never afraid. I always feel safe, but in my dreams this scenario

of crashing rides is my only and most disturbing nightmare. Maybe it

disturbs me so much because rides are supposed to be fun and cause enjoyment, but when they, malfunction they maim and kill which is a

complete and disturbing opposite, at least for me........any thoughts or

advise on this would be great, because right now im still disturbed by all this.

I often dream of the sensation caused by riding fast rides (like roller coasters - the up and down rushing sensation). I think it stems from the fact that I am terrified of those rides. Honestly the sensation itself - to me - can seem like a nightmare.

Allow the sensation to be felt. Negative emotions are like attention whores. The more you deliberately attempt to push them away, the more unconscious attention you actually give them Just experience the sensation, the bad feelings, everything surrounding the event. Don't judge, just experience.

      hello everyone,
This seems to be good advice, what about a recurring dream that makes little sense? I have been having one about how I forgot to connect something, and the floor will fall out from under me. I wake and jump up, looking around for the danger-----and feel fearful, but can remember little else about it.

I do not know how often, but I think at least for the last 3 weeks; 4 or 5 times per week. Strange hey?!

      have a positive day.....life coach

To me this sounds like a dream primarily about the fear of being unable to control things in your life. Probably some strong emotion or drive that you feel. Perhaps there is some part of yourself that you subconsciously worry may one day be more than you can control, and it will lead to you hurting others. Not necessarily physical harm, but maybe emotional harm. Does this sound accurate?

That is why something bad usually happens...because you are thinking it will happen before it ever does. You are too worried. Don't think about bad stuff.Think only about good and good stuff will happen.

      hello all,
Thanks for the reply and it may be partially accurate. There is a complicated relationship that I am having trouble sorting out. Like an ex-boyfriend who still wants to be more than friends, but I don't feel the same.

I am taking a class in meditation at the moment and have hopes it may bring me some clarity on the whole issue.
