Thread: very upsetting dream

The dream starts out in a cabin lift. The upper half of the cabin is glassed in - one window is open. First I see the cabin from the outside - birdseye view - then I am in it. There are no chairs or benches - I am standing at one end - at the other end I see Oprah Winfrey - she has her arms full of large black books and she is talking to an assistant ( who appears in the form of the black secretary in the TV series "The Practice" she's the one who then too becomes a lawyer) She listens attentively to Oprah - I can see them, but I can't hear what they are saying. After a bit, Oprah suddenly says loud and clear: And now throw the keys out of the window. I become very upset and agitated, because I recognize the keys to be my own, recognoze them by the red laether case. which I once owned many years ago. I try to dissuade the assistant - tell her, that I still need at least 2 little keys of the bunch -but she does as she was told and out they go. I can see them falling - falling - falling down into a ravine of rocks and scrubby little trees and I am devastated. At first I think, that I must get down there and retrieve the keys - but then I know: there is no way that I can do that. The scene shifts to my house. I am in the kitchen and I am putting a pot on the stove. Then I walk outside and look back at the house. It is cold outside, everything is covered with a dusting of snow. It is not my house - looks altogether different - it is a long dark brown box with one gable in the middle. As I puzzle about the appearence, I see wisps of smoke coming out from under the gutters and run back into the house and check it from top to bottom - nothing burning anywhere. Running outside again I see that the roof and the upper story are already destroyed and the fire is out. Ghostlike - some charred beams are falling here and there. That is when I wake up - gasping. Any ideas??
