      Dream about non-crashing waves

Hello everyone, I did several internet searches to see if I could find someone who had a similar dream, and since I couldn't I really wanted some help. Anyway here goes:
I had a dream that I was at the beach. It wasn't a beach I had ever been to. The dream began with me swimming in the ocean and looking around to see others swimming and then looking out at the shore to see a nice tan beach with scattered towels and healthy green dunes in the background.
When I looked back out toward the sea I saw dolphins swimming not too far out. Then close behind them I saw killer whales chasing them and remember thinking the whales were trying to attack the dolphins. This didn't last for long, the dolphins kept swimming but they were no longer being bothered. But the killer whales began swimming closer to shore. I saw them jump in to the air from the water and each time there would be a child lifted up by them, kind of like you would see at sea world, but each time they went back in to the water the whales were landing on the children. I thought about how bad that must hurt, but I didn't make an effort to see if they were ok. It wasn't that I was scared to go over, I just didn't see the need to.
Anyway, the part of the dream I was wondering most about is this: After watching the whales, I focused on swimming. The water was too deep for me to stand in. I saw a wave coming toward me and decided to swim with it and try to ride it, like body surfing. I started to catch the wave and then all of a sudden it would stop. When the wave stopped I realized I was standing up on wet sand where the water had just receded. But the wave stopped immediately. I looked behind me and saw a wall of water, the wave I tried to ride just standing before me. It was a physical impossibility, a wall of water, I could see the water still moving, but the wave just wouldn't crash down. I waited for it to crash and realized that I needed to decide whether I should make my way to the dry beach, or if I should jump in to this wall of water before it would. I jumped back in to the water. I wasn't scared, it just seemed like the better choice. This happened a couple times and each time I made the same decision, to go back in the water no matter the risk. Everytime I went back in the water tossed me around a little bit, but it was nothing threatening and I just let it move me until I saw a good chance to move again. The dream ended after my third or fourth time of jumping back in.
Sorry this is so long winded! As far as how this relates back to real life... I've been having trouble deciding what to do about a certain girl. I have very strong feelings for her, but know she's at a time in her life where she can't be in a relationship. It's a classic case of the heart vs. the mind. My mind says there's no way it can work out, but my heart says it can only work out. So I've been trying to decide whether to walk away or to keep going. I won't write any more, if anyone would like more info, just let me know and I can write a little more. I have a lot of dreams I remember upon awaking, but this one felt really important. Please help me understand it better. Thanks in advance for any help.

Being wet is often said to represent being drenched by your emotions. So... the wall of water could mean that you're emotions are gaining more and more control and you're having a hard time stopping them...?
P.S., If you have any more problems or dreams you'd like interpreted, you can post them under my thread " dream interpretation help here". It's under the same sub category

It could also mean that your subconscious wants you to follow your emotions, or it may be warning you not to lose control and to think things out.
