      Interpretation Help Please.

Please allow me to give you some background on my life situation. I'm 18.

My family owns a Jewelry and Coin store that my father is more than willing to leave to me. I've been working here for around a year now am coming to the conclusion that I don't want the store. (Even if it will make a ton of money)

I love guitar. I've been playing for a relatively short time but am nearly certain that I will play for very many more years to come. I'm seriously thinking about playing guitar as a profession most likely in addition to:

Investing. I do not need the Jewelry and Coin store to make a living but it would be very convenient. (and very time consuming)

I'm passionate about playing guitar and not so passionate about the business.

So this was my one of my dreams the other night. I've been having guitar-related dreams recently.

I'm inside a music store that seems guitar oriented. An employee there sees me looking around. I'm playing my acoustic guitar which is attached to my shoulder with a strap. I see a fretboard-less electric guitar that is slightly facing away from me that resembles my electric guitar color wise. It's on a stand. I ask him if I can jam on the guitars for a little while. He doesn't respond and I think this is pretty rude. I follow him to the other side of the store and he sits down and starts doing other stuff. He explains something and says the first half is your ten fingers and the other half is something else and it keeps going? Some girl waiting in line says it doesn't keep going. At one point I looked across the street and it seemed to be a pizza place or something like that. The theme on the outside seemed to be like a barnyard or something with colorful zig zag and swirly patterns. I am playing something that was played on the 30th (doesn't quite exist) frets which was "open" (which would be zero) and then the 38th fret and it sounded like Buckethead (Guitar God) status and then when I play the same frets later in the dream it sounds like crap. (Which it would in real life)

At one point I'm sitting down playing my guitar in the exit path of the building and theres check stands in front of me and I'm against the wall. People are walking by. A older man walks by and i move a little bit out of his way and say "I guess that's a little bit better." He says "A little bit." I follow him to the exit which is revolving doors and he says, "You know, Cameron, that one time you struck out in tee-ball (I did play tee ball) I just wanna let you know that when the ball hits the floor it rolls and you're allowed to hit it the second half of the game. I must have told you about this before." I dunno what I said.

I didn't wanna try the pizza place because I didn't wanna risk it. I really wanted to play the fretboard-less guitar.

So the bold part is the most important obviously.

when the ball hits the floor it rolls and you're allowed to hit it the second half of the game....

I really appreciate any thoughts. Thanks to anyone who responds.

maybe what he meant was that even if you strike out in the tee ball game of life, the ball will inevitably hit the floor and roll, and you'll have more chances later on.

you said you're not interested in the business, but maybe if what you'd like to do musically doesn't work out you'll still have your dad's offer to fall back on. and maybe later on in your tee ball game of life you will come to appreciate this.

I have to agree with this. I mean it sounds like life keeps going if you strike out the first time and then you get a second chance. If I was in your position, I would think about keeping the jewerly store, working in it but also making sometime to play the guitar, maybe making a couple of albums or something

This is a very interesting thought. When I was trying to interpret the dream I thought that maybe he was saying something along the lines of momentum (hits the floor and rolls) but your idea I like much better.

I'd keep it if I liked it. I'd rather teach guitar or do something music oriented even if it won't pay as well. It's nice to know that it is an option (kind of) if I decide to leave it now though.

      Thanks a lot!!!!
