      newbie needs help

sorry for double posting but i was suggested to post in this thread as well

      Hey all,
My name is Jack. I'm 19 and currently go to college. I would like some help with this dream....
First some background info: Since I was around 10yo, I've experience lucid dreams. Initially I was not aware of it or their existence. I talked to my parents and went to a couple psych therapies. Sometimes I would get stuck in between being awake and asleep. I could not move, or speak but I could see a little and I was able to hear my surroundings. if I tried to move, it would take a lot of effort even just finger, and it felt it was hard to breathe. At first I thought it was a nightmare and discuss it with my parents. Later on I researched more online and find out more on this topic. I'm not a religious person. I don't belong to any particular religious group, but consider myself spiritual. I was able to realize I was dreaming several times and take some sort of control on my dreams but usually instead of waking up i would get "stuck" on this sleep/awake state. To leave that state I usually just tried to fall asleep again and wake up next morning normally. I sometimes hear a loud loud crack or just "radio noise", a lot of times I clearly hear conversations but i don't really understand them or identify the voices. Since I went to college this experiences were not as recurrent. so far it has happened 6 times in 3 years. I was never really into learning how to have this experiences since the "stuck" sensation was a horrible one. Whenever I told friends and other people, they just suggested it was a nightmare. But I can hear things in my surroundings and I remember once I was traveling with my family and I fell asleep in the car and got "stuck" again and I could hear them talking. when I woke up I told them about it and what I heard them saying. They looked at me a little worried but were never really impressed.

That's just some background about me. I would like people to try and interpret this dream. I really feel there is something off about it.

      My Dream:
So I'm in a car next to a river in what seems to be a forest or something. i looked outside the windows and i see many bats hanging from the ceiling of some sort of arch and then a group of sloths start climbing the ceiling, grabbing a bat and jumping to the river. After a while there are not more sloths but some bats remain in the ceiling. When I look inside the car, there are earthworms near my feet so I open the door and try to get rid of them.
      That's all I can remember.

      Thanks in advance!

That state that you were in, I think ive heard about it somewhere. See, i look at stuff like this in my spare time using many different sorces. To me it sounds like a partial astral projection, going to the projection stage, but kind of 'stuck' I guess like in the middle like you said because in the projection you can here people so thats what i think is happening. If it is astral projection, you should look into learning how to fully project.
With the dream though, I really dont know. Its quite ackward.

      Hope this helps

I think it was just an over all weird dream. I can, however, describe this state for you. It's commonly known as Sleep Paralysis, Old Hag Syndrome, or Lead Blanket Syndrome. It happens because your body will go to sleep in some cases, and your brain will not. The sites and sounds you see and hear are called Hypnagogic Imagery and Hypnagogic Audio. I'm not sure why it happens, but I do have a theory. The primitive part of the human brain has a hard time figuring out why it's happening, so it invents things. In old times, people would see a witch on their chest, sometimes riding their beds away to some evil lair. More currently it's things such as aliens or monsters. A lot of people also feel a lot of weight on their chest, which is why they've now nicknamed it the Lead Blanket Syndrome. It's perfectly normal. In fact, a lot of people learn to control their HI because it's easier to stabilize than a lucid dream. They also learn how to turn it into a lucid through methods such as some WILDing methods.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
