Unhappy dreaming of my ex partner always.

About a month ago my partner and i broke up,
he happen to break up with me and for about the last three weeks
all i have dreamt about is him.
It doesn't matter the situation, regardless good/bad
he is somewhere in my dreams every night.
Some nights i'll wake up happy after a good dream,
and just continue to dream about this because it feels good.
Yet that's no way to live your life, because reality comes soon after i awake.
I can't deal with it anymore, i can't sleep because out of anything i love him
but i just don't need this reminder every night when i sleep.
I have numerous dream interpretation books and i've researched over the internet yet i cannot find anything that helps me.
I've tried every trick, but it just won't go away.
I just really need to know what to do,
because i can't move on if this keeps happening.

Just a guess, but, have you tried accepting what happened and moving on if you didn't? It sounds to me like you are still holding on to him literally speaking even though the relationship is over and you guys broke up. That's the only thing I can think of As for the " I still love him" part, there nothing anyone can do for you. I mean he's made his choice and unless he comes back to you because he loves you as well, you have to accept what happened. It's difficult I know, but, it's really out of your hand

Yeah i know that, but moving on doesn't take days or even weeks.
It takes longer then that and the dreams arn't helping.
I just want to know how to over come the dreams, becos i reckon there what im holding on to the most right now.

Are you kidding? Moving on could take years, depending on the situation.

Break ups suck, but what you're going through is essentially pretty normal.

Just focus on being around your friends, family, and take up a hobby or two. It should help move the process along.

Try analyzing your previous relationship and what it was about him that you liked. Also, have you tried thinking of other thoughts before going to bed if you haven't already?
