Hello, new member and looking for interperation of dream

My girlfriend and I have been talking about having a baby and have pretty much been working on it. It has not happened yet...

The other night she woke up, she had a bad dream that I had hooked up with a girl she works with (which would never happen) and that I got her pregant with twins...also that I was not concerned and saw it as no big deal.

Any ideas of what the underlying meaning of this may be?

      Thanks, Tim

It's common for women to have these kinds of thoughts and dreams. It's just how they're wired to think. Nothing to worry about

      Good luck

What sort of meaning are you looking for?

Dreams can be driven by all sorts - anxiety, wish, fear.
It's not easy to interpret dreams, harder still when the dreamer is a third party as most meaning arises out of dialog in my experience rather than a simple statement of "fact".

I agree there's nothing to worry about as far as the dream goes, in isolation. But you may wish to explore the implications with your girlfriend. Does she fear that you're twice as productive with someone else than you'll ever be with her? Does she want to give up and wishes you went with someone else? Does she harbour doubts, jealousies, insecurities? Is this a secret sexual fantasy? All this is likely to be unconscious, however, and likely to be denied if true.

If there's anything to worry about, it's allowing a dream to be an issue when there could be so much to learn about what it might be revealing. If nothing else, have a laugh about it. It's just a dream.

Yeah I would agree. The question really needs to be answered by her though since she was the one who dreamed it. You should be asking her "what do you think it means."

It does not mean that you have some secret fantasy or plan to cheat. It's very likely that the real message here (my guess) is that she is only afraid about you cheating whether or not she admits it to you or even herself. She then runs the scenario in a dream of what could happen.

In Tibetan Dream Yoga, they are familiar with dreaming as a means of ultimate self-discovery. Your conscious thoughts are suppressed during waking hours, so then it gets stored in the subconscious. Because of this, it is also practiced to solve problems, even mathametical ones.

We have been talking about having kids, also twins run in my family which is something we talked about.

We have however had some trust issues before, mainly as I have trust issues in general and thought one time she had cheated.

Thing seem to be good and we are actually trying to get pregnant now. Though she just turned 38 and is concerned, though Doctors seem to say no problem other than maybe needing some different meds for hypothyroid,,as she does have that. There also may be a sexual component about this, even though now we are working on starting a family, we have discussed the idea of having a girl join us in the bedroom as it is something she is very interested in.

Thanks for the input, keep it coming. She was very upset the day she woke up, she told me about the dream right then and there and told me she felt that she was going to puke as it was that upsetting to her.

I think in many ways you've answered your own question. PDP (Previous day's processing) is a common feature of dreams and if issues about sex, twins and trust have been hanging around the previous day (and, no doubt for much longer) then it's normal to dream of these. Sounds like the issues have unearthed some unconscious fears. But as louie54 says, we really need to discuss this with her.
