Upsetting dream - Attacking my friend

Last night during 2:15AM I fell asleep. I managed to DILD which is rare for me. Although I find that DILD is a lot weaker than WILD.

I was standing in my kitchen and someone was showing me how to work the microwave. I was trying to read the LED screen as I typed the numbers in but I couldn't. Because the microwaves screen is a lot like a digital watch, in the dream it was all jumbled and wrong. Suddenly I had this strange feeling rush over me as I realized I was dreaming and I could LD. I looked at my hands and in shock found stubbed fingers and an extra thumb. I looked at my watch and the times were all over the place. I got excited and ran to a chair.
“I’m lucid!” I cried to a DC, who was represented by someone at my school. She looked at my and said “whatever” and stared at me as I rubbed my hands together.
The first thing that came to me was to try and find a dream guide. I’ve never been so sure one exists, but last night I was too excited to care (this was my first lucid dream for a week after I fell ill). I stood in the center of the room and said:
“Dream guide, are you there?” I repeated myself twice and then stood there. Suddenly things felt wrong. The room became gloomy and dark and it began to rain outside. Everything began to feel uncomfortable and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.
I was not comfortable at all and as the room became foggy I began to get spooked. I turned around to see if anything was there. I could make out something with tentacles floating in the corner of the room which was intriguing, but it scared me so I kept away. I decided to ignore it and do something else. I remembered about my shared dreaming goal (I could picture my forum sig in my head). Before I could spin around to try and teleport myself somewhere, the DC that helped me with the microwave said:
“That ain’t gonna work.” and he was right. I span around and nothing happened. Damn DC threw me off.

      (Heres were it gets interesting)
Instead I just spawned my friend Felicity, better know as Dog on the forums. She appeared in jail overalls (for some reason every time I dream about her she is in an orange jail suit) and looked confused. I lead her into the room where the squid thing was.
We talked for a while but then for some reason I had to make her leave. I began to push her and hit her to the ground. I suddenly realized what I was doing and shouted “what the hell am I doing?” but I couldn’t stop. I tried to shoot her but it didn’t work. Then I picked her up, threw her into a mirror (she went through it into the parallel world) and then I destroyed the mirror with a broom stick. It felt like I had no control over my actions. I fell back and was disgusted. The uncomfortable presence and gloominess was still in the dream as if it was watching me. I woke up.

As I sat in my bed I was disgusted. I had a tear in my eye. Why on earth I dreamed about attacking my friend I don’t know. In fact, she is one of the last people I know that I would attack. There are lots of people I dislike which I would have rather thrown through a mirror.
It disturbed me a little. I’m not the religious type, or the most spiritual, but something is not right with this dream. And that weird presence was terribly uncomfortable.

Why did I dream about attacking my friend and throwing her into the mirror? I am not a violent person and the dream was quite violent. I was quite upset when I woke up.

      Did you lose lucidity?

In your next LD I suggest you focus on your dream guide again and only your dream guide. If you are afraid, tell yourself, "This is only a dream."
What I like to say is, "Fuck this. This is a dream." Then, face the thing that you fear, instead of ignoring it.

DC's can be ignored into oblivion. Real people, or other entities cannot.

      Has Dog read this dream?

I know it was upsetting, but that great that you had the presence of mind to try two dream goals.

Many of my dreams since making a concious decision to explore the dream world instead of just play in it have been truly terrifying. When we seek truth in dreams, it's not always peaches and cream.

Particularly interesting, because when I tried to ignore the strange presence that suddenly appeared it wouldn't go away, whereas the other DC on the chair just disappeared. I'm spooked now.

I'll have to ask Dog if she had any dreams.

The key is to let go of fear. I understand how you feel. It was either right before or right after I can to this site that I let go of my fear of flying into space.

I would always get repelled by gravity when I flew. I would fly higher and higher, faster and faster, uncontrollably. Then, one dream, I allowed it. It was amazing.

Confronting fear in dreams is a key to power.

I'll see if I can find my DG tonight.
Is it possible my DG could be some sort of horrible beast?

That depends on your perception. I fought my own totems before, because I perceived them as monsters. Then, when I realized who they were, i stopped perceiving them as such.

      Dreammoods.com says:
      Gloomy
To be surrounded by gloomy things and situations in your dream, indicates that you need some direction or clarity in a waking situation. A situation or person in your life is having a negative impact on you.
      Rain
To see and hear rain falling, symbolizes forgiveness and grace. Falling rain may be a metaphor for tears, crying and sadness.
      Fog
To dream that you are going through a thick fog, symbolizes confusion, troubles, scandal, uncertainty and worries. You may not be seeing things the way they really are or you may have lost your sense of direction in life.
      Squid
To see a squid in your dream, suggests that you are feeling unconsciously threatened. Your judgment may also be clouded. Perhaps you are not seeing things too clearly at the moment. Alternatively, it symbolizes greed. It is always about what you want without regard for others.
      Attack
To dream that you attack someone, represents pent-up frustration and anger. You feel that you have been wronged, but that it is easier and safer for you to express your anger in your dream.

Not a dream id like to have.

There are some people that are having harsh impacts on me. There was this retarded guy on the bus who attacked someone random the night before the dream. It stressed me out a lot. Luckily the bus routes has changed and we don't go past his house anymore.

Sadness... I haven't been particularly sad recently. Although I did wake up quite upset.

My family is planning to buy some land and build a house, but up until yesterday we didn't know where and I have been feeling quite unsettled. It has been quite confusing.

Interesting. The person on in the couch on my dream is some girl at my school who often get angry for no reason and makes personal attacks. She is quite threatening.

I believe that you are looking for a quick fix in some things. You want instant results. There is excitment about this whole lucid thing. You were really excited and wanting to explore more spiritual/supernatural things. You have been making efforts to make this happen yourself. There is nothing wrong with being excited but everything quick is not the best for you. For your fingers on your hand to be stubbed and them an extra thumbs is deformity. Your hands represent works. The things you do. You have to be carful in what your hands find to do as it can lead to the wrong type of spirit to come in and take control and then you really wont get anywhere and become powerless where nothing works. I feel in my spirit that you should really be careful when you get to tapping into these types of things. We cant make anything happen, when we try to foster things in the spirit to happen we open the door for other things to come in if we are not keeping God first and in control of it. Let God be your dream guide and your focus. Calling on other things simply is to risky and wont work. Thus your having bad feelings and nothing working(teleporting or answer for a dream guide). Those prison stripes on your friend represents bondage that your good friend is in and you are hurting. This was not the actual person but was meant in a spritiual sense. We have angels assigned to us by God and I dont want to do anything to hurt the Lord by rejecting his help. The bible says that we are Friends of God. tentecles, gloomy, dark all are not good spirits nor are they a good place to be. Tentecles sting if they hit you. Dont let the enemy/devil decieve you in any way. Continue to be inquizitive but seek Gods face on how to go about learning thes new things. He will work it out for you. I promise He will and you'll be stronger and mighter than many.

Please reread your dream and really open up your mind to my post and seek Gods face for confirmation on these things.

      Peace and Blessings to you.

Dream symbolism books and such are sometimes useful, but are often worthless. Dream symbols are based on personal archetypes. For example in our culture, white is symbolic of purity, we wear black at funerals. In India, they wear white in funerals. These archetype are based on the culture we grew up and the input into our brains, such as media, and any other input, really. Here's another example: in one culture, frogs can be good luck, in another one, frogs a symbol of sickness. In the culture where frogs are symbols of sickness, the person dreaming about frogs will be dreaming about sickness, thus the dream symbol will be true, based on a cultural archetype. This is the reason dream interpretation books are not universal.

If the author of the dream book grew up in a similar time and culture, and had similar life experiences to the reader, it will be more accurate. Imagine a dream book written by an American in the 1880's compared to one written by an author in Japan in the 1980's. The American book is going to have nothing about cars, airplanes, computers, or symbols based on Shintoism and Buddhism. The Japanese one will probably not have many symbols based on Christianity or pioneer life.

Dream symbols go out the window when you become lucid. There is no subconscious talking to you. Your conscious mind is now active. As lucidity increases, Loaf, so will your control. You will be more aware not just of your dream environment, but be more in control of your thoughts, which manifests in action.

Lucidity and control are two different things, but interact synergistically. But, for some reason, you had felt a need to throw Dog through a mirror, which is a portal, and smash the mirror to prevent her from coming back through.

Try to remember that reason. Go back to the dream in your mind. Close you eyes and remember. Go to the beginning of the dream, and view it. Move the dream forward in slow motion. Pause it. Move the camera of your mind in the dream. Now go forward very slowly to the part where you felt you needed to throw her through the mirror. Very slowly. If you feel your mind skip forward over it, go back and rewind. Creep the dream forward until you can remember that specific part.

There are many theories I could come up with why you did this when you were lucid, why she always looks like an inmate, but these are questions you will find out yourself. You have amazing lucid powers already inherent within you as demonstrated by you creating dreamscapes with your mind, such as the dirtbike track.

I believe you can find what the mysterious answer is as to why you did this.

If you feel fear after asking to contact your dream guide, think of it as going cliff diving. Embrace the experience. Hold on to it, don't let it go. Look for your dream guide, and look it in the eyes. Let the fear drive you toward your goal.

Your fear is telling you exactly what to do. The thing you fear is the most important thing to do.

Yes, I am somewhat terrified of finding it again. Although I am just as curious to look for it and see if it has a voice.

@JR1 - Thanks for the post. I am now interested to see if that squid does sting me. Although being an Atheist it'll be hard to find comfort from a God..

Moving toward fear in dreams is a concept in many dream cultures. I know fear well. I have many terrifying experiences in lucid dreams.

I see a recurring theme of fear in your dreams. Fear of space, fear of a creepy past, fear of this dream guide. All these must eventually be embraced by you, Loaf.

There is a giant squid or octopus that I see in dreams. I have fought him before. I thought he was a monster. He is one of my 'aumakua, my totems. He'e, Kanaloa, the god of the sea.
