About as weird as they come...

My name is Robert and i am a twenty year old male from the United Kingdom. I attend university and despite having no previous mental health problems, i had the following weird dreams!

I have had two dreams within the past few days. The first was that i went back to my old secondary school and went into my locker to find a 6 month old cake which was gray. i shared it with my old science teacher and her son and it tased awful!

My second dream, which i had last night and really freaked me out was that i was giving birth to orange segments and to keep them alive i had to put them into a bowl of water.
      Am i a complete screwball?

can anyone interpret what on earth they mean?

dreams dont mean anything except that you were thinking about those things... so you must have been eating oranges sometime recently(or wanting to eatsome) and for some reason you were thinking about your teacher. No you are not a screwball or anything, you have no controll over dreams most of the time.

I thinks dreams are simply composed of "random" thoughts. It seems to be everyone has a bag of thoughts or thier memorys, it seems to me that things like going to school, eating, ect are recorded in your memory everytime you do it therefore more common things like oranges and school would be very probable subjects in dreams.

My 2 cents... i may be right or wrong, but never think your dreams are suposed to be telling you anything except what you may be thinking about something too much.
how do you know if you aren't in a 'dream' right now?

The thing about dream interpretation is that the experiencer of the dreams is the best person to interpret them. Also details of the dreams are often more important than the main context of the dream. When you post vague concepts from a couple of dreams asking people to interpret them, the answers you get will probably be more garbage than inciteful remarks.

But I will give it a shot anyway.

So you were eating old, grey cake from your old locker at your secondary school... what kind of cake was it? An old birthday cake? Wedding cake? Did you recognize the cake in question? If it was a cake that you can remember from something in your past that most likely has significance. And you also shared the cake (which is obviosly rotten and a bad thing to be eating) with other people meaning that maybe there is something rotten in your life that you need to share in order to understand it and come to terms with it.

The giving birth dream sounds very odd to me... mostly since you are male, but I don't suppose sex matters in the dream world (except on an interpretive level). I'm really not sure how giving birth is normally interpreted in a dream, but it's centered around the creation of new life. The "life" you had coming out of you is obviously very fragile since it needed immediate attention in order to save it. How did you realize it needed to be put into water? Was it dying and you needed to find a way to save it? Did some of it die before you realized how to save it?

There are so many other factors of your dreams that I'm sure were very important details that you've ommited. Try explaining your dreams more completely and you will most likely get more complete answers to your questions.

PS and I'm sure you're just fine. People have very strange dreams all of the time. Just check out some of the dream journals on this site and you will see.

My thoughts. Probably way off but:

      Grey Cake dream:

You're at university, and you recently left school. That's a big change in life. You are entering the scary world of adulthood. Your dream was about a time when you were a child and you were protected and nutured by your teachers. If the cake is a birthday cake, then it represents the fact you are growing up. It tasted awful because you are feel fear and uncertainty about growing up. Grey could symbolise old age.

      Birth dream:

Giving birth to segments of oranges? I think that there are aspects of your life which are beginning being 'born'. Oranges are fruits and represent fertility. And they were fragile and weak and needed to be nurtured. I think this dream represents the fact that you are becoming sexually mature.

      orange and cake dream

your dream is an indication gunna get a flu like virus wihich will leave you dogged down and feeling sick. your food will taste bland. Dreaming of oranges means your body is lacking in vitamin C (come on everyone knows that right??) Vitamin c (or eating oranges) will help you get over your cold! as for giving birth to the segments birthing anything in a dream usually means something new is coming. perhaps you dont often get the flu? its true anyway. (im not a looney honest) also do you play a sport like tennis? where oranges are given at half time as a means of re hydration? I think this virus will leave you a bit de hydrated so drink plenty ok? grey cake would obviously be a very dry thing to eat so perhaps youll get a sore throat too. let me know if I was right ok? (I know most people do get colds this time of year so im nothing special and no seere or ANY thing like that) its just my oppinion. nice to meet a fellow UKer im ali. 25 north east.Nice to meet you.

This was a very good interpretation, albeit weird. I found it very amusing.
