This is the first dream I've been able to fully recall since trying to have lucid dreams (about a week now). I never knew I couldn't remember my dreams until I tried to remember them. Some nights I'd have dreams that I wasn't even in ... I'd just be a spectator or a narrator of some sort. And then I'd watch all these very random events .. so many that it'd be overwhelming when I woke up and couldn't remember them. So anyway, this dream was kid of like a nightmare but without being very scary .. just frustrating:
We are all over at Laura's swimming (even though Laura has no pool) ... and then there's a little kid showing. In front of the kid, but on a lower level of some sort, facing the kid, is a very old man. All I can see of the old man is his shoulders up, because he's on such a lower level. Suddenly he begins to get electrocuted. Without even thinking, I run as fast as I can to go get help. Suddenly I'm at school .. even though it looks nothing like school. I tell the lady in the office (Mary) what happened. She throws a giant plastic object because she's so scared for the old man. I leave the office with the intention of going back to the pool, but have no idea where I am. I've never seen this part of the school. I eventually wind up at a mall. I then get lost inside the mall. I find an area with a bunch of stages and all the bands are setting up. I ask a man how I get to the school showers (for some reason, at this point of the dream I starting thinking that it wasn't Laura's house at all ... and was just a pool with showers at the school that I was trying to get to). He tells me he's not going to waste his time on me because it's so loud he can't understand what I'm saying. Then a different boy walks up and pushes me down. I run back towards the mall and find a row of sushi bars, except the people are facing me and eating. I find an old lady and she gives me a bag of M&M's. She tells me she used to go to my school when she was young, but doesn't remember where it is any more. I then see a girl who was around while the old man was getting electrocuted. I ask her what happened to the old man and she doesn't know what I'm talking about. I suppose I'd been lost for so long that she'd long since forgotten that event. When she remembered who I was and what I was talking about, she said he was perfectly fine. I offered her my M&M's and woke up.
So although at no point in the dream did I try and realize I was dreaming, I feel relief for just remembering a dream at all.
Edit: after searching this board, I've read that weed doesn't help out your recall too much. Which would explain it. On Tuesday of last week (the 22nd) I ate a gram in these little carmel things and smoked a blunt before a show I went to. And then since it was Thankgiving break, I smoked blunts for like 5 days straight. So I havn't smoked since Sunday ... and I guess that would explain why I suddenly could remember my dream so well. I'm only 17 and have only been smoking for a little over a year .. so I'm not sure I'm willing to give up weed for lucid dreaming yet.
