      Masterdieff's Dream Journal

I've got to start recording my dreams if I ever hope to accomplish a better dream recall. I'm already starting to have success with WILDs, and I can't even remember what I did in them!
"Speaking of which, did you find out about the you-know-what in your toolshed? As in, a name?"

"No, the dead body in my you-know-what is still a mystery."

      Last night

Last night I had a lucid dream, but I can barely remember what it was about. Crap. I really need to get myself to record my dreams more often. I'm pretty sure it was a DILD. I don't remember how I knew it was a dream, but somewhere along the line I realized it. I had been chasing someone or something for some reason, and I remember looking at my hands to see better. I was flying, and then I started to fly higher and faster, but I started to lose the dream. I tried desperately to hold onto it but to no avail. IIRC, it was at night and as I flew towards the horizon it started to get lighter.

I also remember some non-lucid dream. Don't remember what it was about at all, but it was cool, I remember that. :-P

Finally, more dreams. I don't remember much about it/them, but the compelling reason I'm writing it down is because I had at least one lucid dream. I'm pretty sure it was a WILD, but again the details are sketchy. I remember laying down to take a nap right after school because I was insanely tired. After settling down I started to feel like I was light-headed or something, but realized it was the initial stages of SP. I allowed it to take hold, and let the imagery come. In my past WILD's, I haven't seen any imagery and went into what some call an OOBE where the lucid goes straight to a scene in my room. This time was different. I started seeing some fragments of scenes and whenever I thought "hey this is hypnogogic imagery" I just told myself to shutup and ignore it. Another first for me was the sound- I heard a woman's voice saying something indistinct. An interesting note is that this time I felt little or no vibrations or any other signs of SP after the initial realization. I think I was just so dead tired I couldn't. At one point, though, I itched myself, shifted around a bit, and swallowed. This was some time before the imagery, I believe, and I wasn't sure if I would continue the WILD stages, but I didn't care. This nonchalant attitude may have been what allowed me to so easily slip into it.

At some point I attempted to expand whatever scene it was in front of me and get involved in it, since it just seemed like a hyper imagination rather than a dream I could step into. If I had tried to move around in the dream I would have moved my real body, so I knew it wasn't yet ready. Eventually I was taken into the dream, but the quality of it seemed just like a daydream on steriods, almost. It was very fuzzy and I thought of it more as something going on in my head rather than an alternate reality. After what I think I remember as a few minutes later, I was still dissatisfied with the quality. So I said "Clarity. I want clarity." And then added "I want stability too.". As I always do in my LD's, I looked at my hands and noticed a significant increase in detail when I asked for it. Funny thing though: my hands didn't look like what my hands really look like. They looked thinner and darker than in real life. Heh heh, oh well.

Another couple things that I can't quite place chronologically but I can remember happening at one point were several RC's that involved breathing through a closed nose, with interesting results. I seem to remember not being able to complete one at one point, but pinching harder and trying harder because I knew I would be able to do so, and succeeding.

Total dreams recalled: 1 Lucid dream using WILD afternoon nap "technique". Content not recalled

Other thoughts: Work on dream recall. I feel downright embarassed at the frequency this happens! Might try HILD, HILD/NST, and/or MILD/NST in the coming days.
