Tried DEILD again, but I don't remember waking up at any time in the night.
What Funhouse?
I was going to catch the tram to go to a new university or something. I remember walking through the town, first. Everywhere looked all sparkly and clean. The buildings and streets were either white or pearl colored. It was lovely! It looked a little like Glenelg in that it was open, and there were a few steps and a railing around the center.
When the tram arrived, it was also very open; it had no roof or sides! The two rows of double seats were both on the same side of the walkway, though. I sat next to some girl, then two people sat next to me, but I know there was an empty space between me and the girl. (five seats??)
Then we got off. Unfortunately I can’t remember much after this. I remember being in a park with thick green, trimmed hedges. Also, there was a crocodile that everyone was afraid of. It had become a legend of sorts. I wasn’t much frightened though.
...missing scene?...
Then I am in a cinema lobby with royal blue carpets and walls, much like the Greater Union at Westfield Marion. I was going to buy tickets, but the lobby was massive and there were doors all in the wrong places… very disorganized. Also there were crowds of young people, about my age or early 20s, all lounging around, talking, sitting on the floor. I didn’t know what they were doing there, but it made me feel like I wasn’t supposed to be there.
The next day I went back to the uni/garden place again. The girl I had sat next to on the tram was there. Underneath some hedges, I found the crocodile’s severed head. I showed her. We were trying to figure out if he was murdered or if he committed suicide. I somehow knew how he had died, as I saw in my mind the crocodile getting run over by a train.
I've forgotten something important about this dream. The uni/garden place, I think it was actually a fun house because I remember the first time I woke up this morning (and was too lazy to get out of bed) I told my half asleep brain “don't forget the dream about the funhouse!!!” Also, I get the feeling we had to solve some puzzles to advance into different rooms… I was holding a piece of paper.
The Great Escape
I was sitting in the lounge room, watching the news with Mum. For some reason, David Bowie had been arrested. This part (in the dream) we already knew, but then the news person announced that Bowie had taken control of the police car he was being transported in, and was speeding away towards “New Mexico” (Is that different from just plain Mexico? I think it was meant to be Mexico) Mum then turned to me and said, “How awful. Even if he gets there, he'll have to live in Mexico forever now.” I said, “No he won't, he'll just fly somewhere else. He'll probably go live in Switzerland or something.” Mum said, “Oh yeah, that's true.”
Then all of I sudden, I was Bowie driving the car through what was evidently scrubland. The road I was following was a dirt path, and extremely bumpy. I knew the police were following me (not too close, so it wasn’t a real panic.) In fact, it was a bit exciting. I kept thinking, “I’m actually getting away!” It was kind of like a video game. Sometimes I would go into birdseye view, so I could see when forks in the road were coming up and such. The police car was like one of those American ones, with a black front and back.
Anyway, I finally started to see people along the road. They looked very desolate, wearing rags, and their skin was pale blue because they were so unhealthy. Nonetheless, I wanted to get out and talk to them. It’s as though they were npcs in an rpg game. (I always have to talk to every single one I see) In the end, I chose the more sensible path, considering the circumstances, and kept going in my car.
The ground soon turned to deep brown dirt, as I passed more and more of these creepy people. Eventually I began passing buildings too, and I started to feel much safer from the police. The buildings were made of corrugated iron and scraps of wood and stuff. These were obviously very poor people living here. When I reached what looked like the town center, I got out and walked into one of the buildings, looking for a job. I knew the workers here were treated like slaves.
The building I went into was like a maze. The hallways were painted stark white, and only wide enough for one person. I was getting very claustrophobic. They told me my job was to gather all the spoons and then send them on to the next people, like a production line. I think they were going to melt the spoons down for their metal. I was having difficulty keeping up, because I couldn't gather the spoons well enough. I was searching through a yellow blanket on a shelf, and one of the spoons fell into a toilet. I was horrified because I didn't want to put my hand in to get it out! All of a sudden, the room was filled with toilets and I couldn't remember which one it fell in… One of the other worker girls had to cover for me because I was wasting so much time. I never did find it before the dream ended…
Dream of a Lucid Dream
I was sitting on the sofa (in my dream) when I closed my eyes and discovered, startled, that I could imagine moving my arms up, and they seemed perfectly real! I mean, they looked 100% real to dream-me. I couldn’t believe it was finally working! The only problem was, I wasn’t really asleep (I’d only closed my eyes) so when I tried to move or do anything in my “lucid dream”, I moved in “real life” as well. I decided to go to my bedroom and lie on the bed and see if that was cause SP to come on. Unfortunately, it didn’t. Every time I wanted to do something in my lucid dream, I would become aware of my physical body moving too. It was very frustrating!
...
Well now I missed breakfast typing all that up! :p
