      AbyssNess's Dream Journal

I'm starting an online dream journal now that lucidity is becoming more frequent. I'll try to update it as much as possible.

      Today's dreams:

      1. My mother and sister were watching a video on Youtube. It had a ballerina teddy bear in it.

      2. A lengthy lucid dream.

I was in my computer room, vaguely aware that I was dreaming. To make sure, I pinched my nose--I could still breath. A feeling of euphoria filled me.

I launched myself out of the window (!) going straight through the glass. It was nighttime, and raining. I crouched on the windowsill for a few moments, worried. I was completely sure that I was dreaming, but I had heard of people whose flight failed, causing them to drop down and lose lucidity. I didn't want to waste a good lucid dream.

I finally overcame my doubt and leaped out into the air, flying above my neighborhood. I landed on rooftops and generally messed around. Eventually the rain turned into snow, which quickly blanketed the ground. I saw a woman walking with her two children and flew in a circle around them, waving hello. They waved back as if this was completely normal.

I decided to try and meet a pink-haired kid who I'd met in a lucid dream the night before. As I thought this, I had a false awakening. My friends were in a circle around me, claiming they'd woken me up. I thought that this might be a false awakening and pinched my nose without even trying to breath. I thought, "Wow, I'm not breathing, I must be awake."

Then I woke up. My logic in dreams is terrible.

      My dreams from this morning:

      1. A guy who looked mysteriously like the Pope came to my classroom. He started preaching a completely ridiculous apocalyptic religion. In his religion, there were different ranks that you could transcend by doing simple tasks. These ranks determined how richly you would be rewarded in the afterlife. I quickly climbed the ranks in the religion, all the while giggling manically with a friend.

      2. I was playing some sort of video game where you got signed photos from celebrities. I was meeting a witch in a cave, and received her photo. I remember being annoyed that her photo "wasn't good enough."

      3. I was sitting on my bed, and my mother was speaking to me in gibberish. Confused by this, I waited until she had left and then did a reality check. I was lucid! The house was much different than it normally is. It was filled with aquariums and potted plants.

I tried to yell "CLARITY!" or something similar, but I was completely mute and eventually gave it up. I considered meeting up with the pink-haired kid, but decided I would have some fun first. My little sister was playing with her friend, and I jumped in front of her. The gravity was very low, so I was carried farther than I had expected, and bumped on the ceiling. My sister yelled, very loudly, "Micheal Jackson!"

I moonwalked out of the room.

I walked into the bathroom and was in the middle of transforming in front of the mirror when I woke up. I still haven't met the pink-haired kid. But I'll do it tonight! You'll see! You'll ALL see!

      4. Argh forgot it.

      THREE LUCID DREAMS TONIGHT W00T!

      -------------

      1. I was in a game making class. Our class was in a competition with another class, and I was heavily involved in coding the physics engine for our game. I remember that our game was generally better than the other class' game.

      2. I had the ability to place "probes" in certain places in time. Time was represented by a large, squiggly loop. A woman wanted my to rescue her son, who was trapped in the Mesozoic era. My probes couldn't go far enough however, and I had to strengthen them.

[The following dream is a series where I traversed multiple dreamscapes, searching for a pink-haired girl I'd met in a previous lucid, who I suspect is my dream guide.]

      3. I entered this using what I think was a WILD, combined with WBTB. I was actually trying to do a MILD, but eventually images started to appear, and I was pulled into a dream.

My mother and some sort of supernatural beast were guarding my bed. I asked them how I could find Pink, and they replied that I could climb into one of the holes in my blanket. I searched around the blanket and found a tiny hole, with a small lake landscape inside it. I climbed inside and the landscape became full-sized. Hundreds of people were sitting around the lake, staring into its depths. Seeing a flash of pink in the distance, I headed towards it, but it was a young boy with pink hair. I asked a guy nearby if he'd met someone named Pink (I actually didn't know the name of the girl, but apparently this was the name my subconscious gave her.) He said, kind of condescendingly, "You'll have to be more specific. We have hundreds of Pinks here." I gave a loose description. He thought for a few moments, then said, "There's nobody like that here." Disappointed, I walked away. I then had a false awakening, where I rolled out of bed and entered a different dream. I was an Egyptian, and my house was being burned down. I then had a second false awakening.

I had dropped my glass of water, and something under a table handed it back to me. I thanked it politely, then thought, "Wait, this isn't right." I did a reality check, and became lucid. My mother entered, and started talking about how this was a difficult time and I had to be strong. I meanwhile was rubbing my hands furiously - I wanted this lucid to be as long as possible. For once, it worked, and everything became very clear. My mother exited. I noticed a little girl with a mess of pink hair and a mean-looking bulldog face had been standing by my mother. I asked hesitantly if she was my dreamguide, and she said "Yes." Then she skipped out of my field of vision. My peripheral vision had somehow disappeared. For some reason terrified of the bulldog girl, I swiveled slowly around the room. My mother was walking towards me, talking about something. Realizing that she wasn't really my mother, but actually the bulldog girl, I lunged at her, and she lashed out at me. I grabbed her arm and knocked her down, and she went through a series of transformations, at one point becoming Pink as I had met her in the original dream. However, my lucidity had slowly been draining as this happened, and I woke up.

      4. Something about planets and three old women.

      5. I was in some sort of school, in a class taught by a moose. A kid had a gun that fired green energy every time he got too annoyed, and I had to dodge it several times. Finally I exited the school and found a huge desert outside, with a small river running across it. For some reason--I think the water floated above the ground, or something like that--I did a reality check, and became lucid. Then I had a false awakening. It was morning, and I did a reality check. I became lucid. However, my neck was stiff, my legs could barely move, and I was slightly crosseyed. I was unable to cure this. Deciding that I would have fun and eventually this would fade, I searched under the covers for a pill that would give me superpowers, found one, and ate it. I floated into the air, dashed around the room, and then exited.

I saw a wooden elk carrying a cello hit a little kid, and I lost lucidity. I spent the rest of the dream fighting the elk, who could somehow talk and move.

      -------------

The part where I fought Pink was strangely reminiscent of that scene where Envy fought Ed at the end of Full Metal Alchemist.

Maybe when I can make my lucids longer, I'll try and meet Pink again, and see if she really is my dreamguide.

      No lucids tonight nuuuuuuu.

      1. My class and some other people I know were sucked inside of Tales of Symphonia. We were inside of a "hidden last level." It was in the middle of space, with stars and planets scattered around it. We were eating at a table that was filled with different things. I was eating Saltines, wondering why they were in Tales of Symphonia, but a girl told me that they were "Cracker Gels."

      2. My house had become a zoo for talking animals. I stole some keys and started setting animals free. First I set the elephants free, and I was running around the house searching for some talking lobsters.

      3. I was a prince in a Red Ninja clan. Our clan's rivals were the Black Ninja clan. The Red ambassador was talking to them and I was hiding in a tree. The Black Ninjas noticed me and I was held hostage. In exchange for my freedom, the Black Ninjas were given a cake that constantly duplicated itself. The Black Ninjas were going to let the cake duplicate hundreds of times, and then sell all of the cakes on eBay, earning millions of dollars and becoming the most powerful ninja clan.

      4. A god in a volcano was tricked by a witch and transformed into a monkey. He tried to warn people about something, but nobody understood him.

For the first half of the night, my recall was terrible. I woke up at 5:30 and ate a slice of cheese.

      1. I was fighting an evil skeleton thing in front of my house. I pulled out its thighbone and attacked it, and there was a short duel before it ran around the house. Then suddenly it turned into my little sister.

I woke up at 6:00 and attempted a MILD.

      2. An old man was leading me through my school, telling me I had to trim a hedge. I couldn't move my neck and was staring at the ground. I noticed that the grass was covered with a cloth that had the same pattern as my bedroom curtains. I did a reality check, and became lucid. I was still staring at the ground. Trying to increase my lucidity, I knelt down and picked up some mulch, which I ground between my fingers. Everything became more clear. I ran along the sidewalk and jumped into the air, starting to fly, but I woke up.

I fell asleep again and reentered the dream.

Instead of flying, I decided to meet Pink. I looked through the crowd for a short time before finding her. Her hair and voice were slightly different. I asked if she was my dreamguide and she confirmed it. After a few moments, I asked if she had been the bulldog girl I had met earlier. She shook her head vehemently, saying "That was a different thing altogether." I replied that the bulldog girl had claimed to be my dreamguide as well, and she changed the subject.

I'm still kind of suspicious about this.

We flew onto a cliff. At this point I started to lose lucidity. I couldn't move my neck once again, and a man connected to the cliff on a spring started talking to me. I pulled a pill out of my pocket and ate it, restoring my lucidity. The man asked what it was, and I said that it was a pill to clear my vision. I gave him one. Pink was now farther away, and I ran to catch up with her. There were several strange things on the cliff, such as a house covered in snow (even though it was sunny out.) At this point Pink pointed at a random DC and killed him. I got annoyed, and she sulked for a while before saying, "These aren't real people. You can do what you want with them." Then she pointed at the DC and brought him back to life. I woke up.

Does anyone reading this know a good test to see if someone's really your dreamguide? I thought my dreamguide would be all-knowing and wise, not all-knowing and... immature.

Tonight I know I had a long dream, and I recall going lucid at one point, but all I remember is this:

      1. Some kids are playing football. A radio is playing. They leave the field and an adult asks a kid how the game was. A kid says "Her music is terrible!" I can vaguely here the voice from the radio telling everyone to stop "poosing."

      Then I woke up. D:

      1. I was the camera in a movie about an abusive father, who looked like that guy from House. He was leaving his wife at night, and taking his kids with him. He forced them into his car. While driving, he got drunk. Not wanting to crash, the kids jumped out of the car and landed on the roadside.

      2. My mother was picking me and my sister up from somewhere. We drove to our house along a scenic road filled with cliffs and valleys. At one point we stopped at a clear spring, with miniature waterfalls and fancy rock formations. It was filled with small fish that looked very alive, but when I looked at them closer, I saw that they were made of rubber.

      3. I entered this dream thinking I was still awake and unable to get to sleep. I looked up and saw a large face painted on my wall. I did a reality check and went lucid. Hoping to make it last, I circled around the room, yelling "Increase clarity!" and "Make this lucid long!" The dream became very clear. I noticed that I had a domino pattern of books on my shelf, which fell over as I looked at them. Deciding to teleport somewhere, I tried going to my school, but all this did was summon some little kids. I made them disappear and tried once again, imagining the floor, the walls, the ceiling, etc. This didn't help.

I tried summoning someone and was successful. Then a jumble of images appeared and I woke up.

I've decided to bring my dream journal back from the dead, because I've been having a lot of interesting dreams lately.

I took vitamin-enriched chocolate milk, a banana, and a slice of cheese before bed (yes I am obsessed.)

      1. I was lucid and playing a space shooter. I was amazed at the spectacular graphics, and put it down to all the B6 before bed. I didn't try to alter the scenery in any way.

      2. I lost my lucidity and was talking to an old lady. I showed her my hands, which were blistered and weird looking.

      3. I was at home, in my room. I looked down at my hands and saw they were blistered, like in the previous dream. I glanced around the room, looking for something I could use as a reality check. There was a poster on the wall that normally was not there, and advertised some type of doll. My younger sister was standing in the middle of the room, staring into space. By now pretty convinced that I was dreaming, I walked over to my sister and waved my hand in front of her face. Suddenly I found myself spinning in a circle, and everything went black. When it cleared up, I was sitting on a chair in front of an old woman. She was short and skinny, balding, and seemed to be growing a beard. She told me, "I'm going to sew your lips shut and sell them on Ebay as a cure for breast cancer!"
"You can't do that!" I answered.
She shrugged and said, "It's a popular folk cure."
I ran out of the small house. She made no attempt to follow me. A wall surrounded the house, but there was a tall black archway leading out.
From inside the house, the old woman said, "You can't go through that. Only Grim Reapers like me can pass through. A mortal would die."
I think I was only partially lucid, because I thought the gate would actually kill me. I flew into the air and over the fence, but the old woman could fly as well and followed me.
I threw several fireballs, but these veered away from here with no effect, as did lightning bolts. Eventually she lost interest and different away.
I saw a witch on a broomstick hovering nearby, and eager for a way to work out my annoyance, I chased her, throwing lightning. This only seemed to irritate her. I wound up back at the old woman's house.
The witch knocked on her front door, and asked to come inside and get away from the annoying kid throwing lightning at her. The old woman let her in, and then slammed the door shut.
I yelled at the dream, "Wake me up!"
I had a false awakening, but knew I was still dreaming and called out again, this time waking up for real.

I knew that I had to figure out how to deal with lucid nightmares, since I was planning to take B6 every night, and nightmares could occur again. Finally, an idea occured to me. It was a revolutionary step in nightmare-combat. It would aid mankind for years to come.

      2. I entered the dream fully aware that I was dreaming, and ready to act upon my idea. I swivelled around and then shouted, "Now opening: the Nightmare Sandwich Bar! Line up, monsters! Sandwiches free for the first hour!"
It worked disturbingly well. Giant spiders, dragons, and creatures too twisted to describe fell into line in front of me, queuing up for free sandwiches. Most of them wanted red meat and some sort of sauce, usually mayonaisse. I called the old woman who had tried to sew my lips shut out of the line and tossed her several large gold coins, so that she could go into retirement and stop sewing lips shut.
A sandwich bar sort of built itself around me, with yellow brick walls, a high ceiling, and tables. Staff also hired itself. A guy with spiky hair, goggles and a clipboard stayed at the cash register and managed pretty much everything. We had one of those creepy little girls from Japanese horror moviews as a janitor. We even had, for reasons that I can't fathom, a gift shop. Our gift shop sold little remotes that made you invisible. I bought one of them and tried to use it. Sadly, even while I was using it people were aware that someone was there, they just didn't know who it was.
I lost lucidity and was murdered by two little kids who performed a devastating magic spell. The dream turned into a chatroom, where the two little kids laughed at me, and I made a :( face and signed off. Then I woke up again.

      3. Slightly lucid. I was trying to steal a plastic crown from the Mickey Mouse Commemorative Center.

What a great dream the "Nightmare Sandwich Bar" was! Talk about a restaurant where you REALLY don't want to know what's in the sandwiches. Your choice of janitor was a riot; I kept imagining the girl from Ringu using her own head as a mop.

Glad your journal's "back from the dead" if it means more kooky entries like this.

She used a normal mop, sry.

Last night my recall was terrible and I don't remember anything. Today I did a did a lot of exercise though, something that always helps me induce lucid dreams.

I'm planning to have a sort of lucid road trip, travelling with a few other DCs across the dream world. It'll span out over several nights, and I'll continue it whenever possible. I'm calling it, "Travelling the Lucid World on $30 a Day."

Still no lucids. I think it's because all of my dreams are in third-person.

      1. Playing a 2D Mario RPG. Princess Peach is climbing down a ladder. She says, in an extremely high-pitched voice, "Nobody could ever hate me, because I'm so cute! Guffaw!"

      2. I am watching a movie about Vgcats. After burning down a vacation resort, Aeris and Leo (two main characters of the webcomic, in case you haven't read it) are going to another one. They climb onto a roller coaster and fly through multicolored bubbles before finally reaching the resort. They search the map for a reasonably priced hotel, and find "The Ninja Hotel: A well-situated hotel aimed towards ninjas." After going inside, they act out a scene from a samurai movie. Leo upsets a samurai and is decapacitated. Aeris plays a minigame where she shoots multiplying Leo ghosts with a cannon.

      3. A female wizard is captured by an evil king. She is turned into an "Executer of Justice" and runs around at night strangling baby animals. A group of wizards persuade her to return to the university, where she organizes parties at night, ignoring the curfew. A group of baby aliens are found killed, and she is accused of the murder by two young wizards. The head witch and wizard, who are paper bags wearing sequinned glasses, listen attentively for a few moments before shouting, "YOU AAAARE... WROOOOOOONG!!!"

      4. A gnome is the servant of a child prodigy who controls metal. The gnome runs away and tries to join the circus, but is horrified at the cruelty there. A dwarf is forever pounding at an artificial rock to the amusement of the crowds, because he is convinced there is diamond at the center. The gnome sets him free and the two of them hack quickly at the rock, finally uncovering the diamond. They become friends and take a plane to an island along with a few other tourists. When the gnome arrives at the island he finds in horror that his master was waiting for him.

I wasn't able to update my dreamjournal because I was in a hotel for two days. Here are the dreams I had then:

      Day 1:

      1. Something about the ocean. I remember that the dream was very profound, and there was a boy floating a miniature coracle into a very clear, calm sea. Sadly when I woke up, I forgot it.

      2. I am in the hotel room. My mother is waving an enormous, half-eaten peppermint, complaining about the quality of the peppermints in the hotel room. I do a reality check and go lucid. I am excited, but force myself to calm down - I don't want to wake up and waste my lucidity. I try to talk to my mother, but she keeps talking over me. Finally I shout at her and am able to speak. Remembering that other people had recieved good advice from DCs, I ask her how to make the dream last longer. She says, "Oh, that's easy. You just lick your finger and the energy disperses." I lick my finger, trying this out, and a blue halo appeared around it before failing. I do this several times and each time the color is different, going from blue to purple to red.

Satisfied, I leave the hotel and look around. The area nearby looks pretty much like the space around the hotel in real life, with grass and small trees and paved paths and the beach nearby. There is a bookstore nearby, and since that seems to be the only difference from the real hotel, I walk inside. It is very crowded and noisy. I decide to just walk around and observe the environment rather than change things. Strange creatures are painted on the wallpaper, and I consider making them come to life before seeing a drawing of a giant treasure chest with a beard eating people. I turned around and a giant cardboard model of the treasure chest is behind me.

I continue walking and find two wooden lion heads on the wall. One was marked IN and the other marked OUT, and they had long paper tongues. People were climbing in and out of them, and the ones that climbed out had wide, frightened eyes. I then woke up.

      3. I am on a flying boat made of origami, surrounded by elderly warrior people. We land in the middle of a ceremony for a young king. He is tan, has blond hair, and is wearing a bronze breastplate. The queen, who is much more popular than the king, has just arrived. The king entered a dark tunnel. The crowd waited for a long time, and when the king did not come out, he was proclaimed dead. One of the old warriors who had travelled with me took power, and I became his servant. I was made to wear the traditional servant uniform, which was a ninja suit with strings of heavy stone beads under the cloth.

It was a pretty long dream and I'll skip some of it, but at one point I fought a ninja. I think I should make fighting ninjas a dreamsign, because it happened in a dream only a week or two ago.

      Day 2:

      1. I'll just summarize this dream because it was very long. I was in an Xmen-like universe. A man called Jaws was trying to kill all the mutants on the planet. I was a mutant called Cain, whose only power was to make pills that cause lucid dreams. Later, however, I got more powers, such as the ability to read minds and the like. In the end Jaws transformed into a giant shark and I killed him by ramming him with a speedboat.

      2. A sort of prequel, describing how Jaws became what he was now. He was a sort of insane-village-fool persona, but he already had the powers that he would later possess. Everyone was scared of him. A pair of tourists watching a play in the town complained that he was allowed to participate in the play, because all he did was giggle and poke people in the eye. Later they were eaten by a giant shark that burst out of the ground.

      Yay lots of lucids tonight~

      1. My family was driving to my grandmother's house to play a game called Story.

      2. A man, who is a political leader, has gone to a city with a woman. They are standing in front of a large tower. The man says bitterly that he is the only one who supports the city. Suddenly a ninja jumps off the tower and they fight, their battle turning into a sort of music video as a background to someone playing DDR. The battle ends and the defeated ninja says he attacked them because he was a mysogynist.

      3. I was in a bus with an "assistant" who kept trying to bring me things, and bringing the wrong things. Finally he jumped out of the bus. As I looked out at the landscape below, I became lucid and summoned somebody inside the bus before waking up.

      4. A parade of animals, large and small, were walking across a dusty road next to looming, polished steel structures. The structures were abandoned and some were damaged, but all were perfectly polished. I went lucid as I watched them. I walked up to a panda and climbed onto its back, riding it as it walked along. It was surprisingly easy to ride. Eventually the animals reached my house and I jumped off the panda. Everything was slightly blurred, but I clarified it perfectly and it began to look even more clear than reality, like one of those photoshop-enhanced high-def photos.

      5. A sort of alternate reality dream. I was in a hotel with a family who were apparently mine. After my sister drank five bottles of beer by accident and got sick, I went lucid and flew out of the window. I tried to summon my dreamguide and then woke up.

      6. I was lucid, standing in the driveway. My family was waiting for a bus that would take us on a tour, and so was our new neighbor, an old man who loved animals. A man in dark clothes appeared and attacked me, and I fought him away with a pair of flaming steel rods that produced small explosions when they touched him. We went off on a bus with some other tourists, and past through a desert, filled with canyons and red sand. We reached some mangroves. Everyone started to sit down in what were supposed to be kayaks, but had several rows of seats and canopies.
