      Dreamsphere

I'm doing this because I just woke up from a very vivid dream in which I was lucid for some of the time, and I don't want to forget it. So here it is.

I think interjections by me into the narration of the dream will be in italics. Italics = not part of the dream.

P.S. This first one is going to be really vague because I haven't been writing down my dreams as often as I should and they're starting to become hard to remember.

      Dream 1: Black Mamba

All of my actions and thoughts in this dream were either quasi- or fully lucid.

I was in my house reading a short story by Ray Bradbury (something I've actually been doing in real life a lot). This particular story was about these little demon-plant things that grow very fast but only in the dark, and of course they want to kill you. They would look right at you, screech and bare their teeth (don't ask me to describe them any more than that). Soon the fictional story world and the "real" world started to collide and those demonplants started sprouting up in shadows as I was walking around my house. I was very, very afraid of them. I remember walking around the house a lot, probably doing other things, and being terrified the entire time while trying to avoid the little monsters.

(Now I'm at college) At some point I was going to go out onto a lake with my roommate, a friend of his and friend of mine that I met online and have never physically seen. My roommate had this big, flat pontoon-hoverboat thing that we were going to ride on, and we were going to play some kind of water sport that involved a frisbee. My roommate had to go back to the room to get something and as I was following him back talking to him, the frisbee I was holding melted and a huge bubble formed in the middle of it. It quickly hardened and stayed like that, and I was very confused as to how we were going to play frisbee with it. My roommate laughed and produced the actual frisbee we were going to play with, which was normal. I can't really remember ever going out on the boat thing and playing any sport.

In real life, one of my suitemates at my dorm never showed up, so there is currently an extra bed in the other room of our suite. The one suitemate who DID show up is frequently gone. I don't know how any of the following was related spacially or temporally to anything else in the dream. The room across the hall from where I was living was occupied only by an old man who was rarely there. When he wasn't there, I would go over and watch movies and do stuff in his room because he had a nicer tv or something. I remember being over there and having several different guitars, but being aware that, although I owned them in the dream, I didn't actually own any of them in real life. I even remember thinking to myself, "Someday in real life (as in, not in this dream), I will own a bunch of different guitars." Since the old guy was gone for so long, I gradually just moved things that I frequently used into his room. Then, when he finally returned, I had to move it all out as quick as I could. I remember he returned with his children and grandchildren who all seemed kind of weird, as if they had some sort of religious hangup about everything around them. I don't think I remember much more about this.

(This stuff here is part of a dream that I was having in the dream) From there I left and was walking along a bridge that was STRAIGHT out of Halo 3 (I stayed up all night the previous night playing it). I was walking and some girl commented that she could see my Itunes playlist on her computer, and that she thought I had good music taste. I asked her what the name of her playlist was, and she sort of acted creeped out and told me. I responded that I would look at hers and tell her if I thought her taste was also good. I kept walking and found myself in a group of people who were apparently in some kind of reading seminar class that met on the edge of a bridge in the middle of the day. They were all standing around the teacher (who happens to be my creative writing teacher), who stared at me for a minute as if to gain my attention so that I might recognize him. As soon as I saw who it was, he resumed class and started handing out the syllabus. I remember commenting to a guy standing next to me that it was odd that this class met on the edge of a bridge in the middle of the day and started so late in the semester. He started laughing and I suddenly had a feeling that we were best friends in this dream world (again, I was completely aware that I was dreaming).

I think the class then moved on to the edge of the lake I talked about earlier, which must have been about 30 yards away from where I was at that point. We moved out onto a thing that looked sort of like a dock and the teacher started talking about snakes. I remember thinking, "It would be cool if we saw a black mamba," and one appeared just a few feet away and started slithering really fast. Remembering all I'd heard about black mambas, I decided I should attempt to kill it by diving and shooting at it with a phaser (from Star Trek) that I somehow now held in my hands. It twisted up into the air and bit me twice, once on each forearm (I think. Not sure because the location of the bites changed constantly after this). My arms began to feel slightly numb and I turned around, not REALLY concerned (again because I knew I was dreaming) but insisting that someone tie off my arms, suck out the poison and get me to a hospital. People just sort of looked dumbly around and I went over to the teacher, expecting him to do something. He very reluctantly sucked out some of the poison. I remember saying, "Did you get any poison?", to which he replied, with a disgusted face, "Yes, but I didn't expect to!" He spit it out and went away. My only alternative was to suck the poison out myself, so I did, and it was like having a bunch of water in my mouth. I squeezed my arms and pus and liquid came out. All this time my forearms were feeling heavier and heavier and were getting harder to move and feel.

Then, in my dream, I woke up from a dream. I think all the stuff about the black mamba and the bridge class was all part of that dream. However, my arms were still feeling the same way and I looked down and there were snakebites on my forearms, but in different places. I was in my house which was still haunted by those stupid demonplant creatures. My mother was downstairs working on the computer WITH ALL THE LIGHTS OUT except for one right in her corner. I went down there to show her the bites and cut all the lights on while saying "Mom, PLEASE don't keep the lights off." She turned a few off and kept working. An old biology teacher from high school was there working with her. I went over and showed her my snakebites, but she was skeptical that they were real. I remember trouncing her with undeniable logic and feeling very pleased with myself, despite knowing that all I had done was prove that I was about to die. Then, I woke up, this time back to the real world. My forearms were underneath my pillow, completely asleep. That was the source of my black mamba dream.
