Very short, and very strange...The Doctor's Office
I was in a doctor's office, and the receptionist's desk was in a huge room, kind of dark grey. In fact, I'd say the room was so large, I could not see the walls or ceiling. It was almost like a huge grey room of nothingness! On the floor, there was a walkway leading up to the receptionist's desk. The walkway was made up of pilons, or stands...like the kinds you see at bank line-ups.
I had gone up to the receptionist's desk to register my 3 year old daughter, who was also with me. But apparently, I had to fill out some forms, so I had to go back down the walkway where there were benches, and fill out these forms. Meanwhile, there were other lines leading to the receptionist's desk, and I didn't want people to get in front of me. I remember re-arranging the lines so that they were forming a bit of a circle.
The receptionist's daughter was also there, and I was hoping that she wouldn't get in to see the doctor before my daughter did. I guess I didn't think that was fair. Oh, and the receptionist was a gothic girl, wearing black, having a knee-high skirt with long stockings. She was a really happy/bubbly person. Nothing really happened in the dream. In fact, it seemed that the most exciting thing in the dream was me re-arranging the walkways!
Blast From The Past
This dream took place at my wife's parent's house in the city. (They don't live in the city.) It involved me, my wife (but she was my girlfriend in the dream, and we were much younger), my wife's brother, and their mom. I remember the dream starting out in the back yard of this house, and I was walking along the side of the house to the front yard. Everyone in the dream was involved with pulling weeds in the lawn. Sometimes a shovel was used to remove the weeds, and sometimes we just pulled the weeds out by hand. At one point, my wife (girlfriend) had mentioned to me that "this one's not a weed, it's a tree, so don't pull it out". She said it with a smile, and I think she was high up, like on the roof of the house when she said it. And when she was inside (I saw her at the livingroom window now, all of a sudden) I waited until she wasn't looking and I pulled that tree out of the ground. It was just a scronny little thing, like a weed, but had strong roots.
Now, it was time to go inside and get cleaned up, and I went into the bathroom. There was a shower head above the bathroom sink, where I could wash my hands. And there was the same shower head in the shower also, where my mother-in-law was bathing her son (40 years old). My mother-in-law mentioned how he was allergic to the weeds, but not near as bad as his brother (who is actually passed away in real life and wasn't visible in the dream). I thought it was strange that she was babying her 40 year old son, but none of it dawned on me that it might be a dream until I woke up.
Watching Porn On Company Time
Another VERY brief dream that I had was that I was at work, trying to find a computer that would allow access to a porn site, but I was not having luck, and I was thinking I should stop looking. The last room I was in before I woke up was the last portable class....closest to the parking lot.
Who Left The Fan On? EXTERMELY SHORT dream.
It took me a long time to fall back asleep at one point during the night, and I heard the furnace shut off, and then immediately come back on. Usually, that's a sign that the furnace filter needs changing. I was restless, hoping that the furnace was not "struggling" to force air through the clogged filter. Then I thought that I had heard the thermostat "click" off, and so I waited to hear the furnace fan shut off also. I must have waited five minutes and it was still blowing. Then I thought that my mother-in-law (who had been babysitting my 3 year old that night while I was at work) might have set the fan to "always on", although I don't know why she would have done that. I wanted to get up to check, but I was too tired. I looked at the time, and it was 5am. A couple of minutes later, I looked again, and it was indeed 5:02am. I was not dreaming....YET!
But I did drift off without noticing, because the next think I knew, I finally got up to look at the thermostat to see if the fan was set to "always on". When I got to the thermostat, it had a switch with so many positions on it, I couldn't figure out what it was set at. (The thermostat has two switches on it...one for fan - On, Auto, and one for furnace mode - Off, Cool, Heat) I finally convinced myself that the fan was set to "always on" and just went back to bed....and I woke up hitting myself for not realizing it was a dream!
