      Tiwar's Dreams

I finally decided to make my own dream journal. Most of my dreams are really detailed and all of them are very strange.
I will write down my dreams whenever I can remember them, which is pretty often

So last night I had two dreams that I recall, but it's only the first one I have a detailed memory of.. Here goes..

      Inside the hollow mountain

I dreamt that I was standing on the ground floor inside a large, hollow mountain. The mountain had a spiral formed road along the walls leading up to the top. Along the road there were numerous large, round doorways leading into rooms in the mountain walls. From inside these rooms there was a bluish light shining into the hall. The floor of the bottom, where I was standing, was made of glass with water underneath. The same blue light as from the doorways was leaking into the room from under the glass floor. In the middle of the room there was a large, dry fountain with a big, glass, swirly thingy in the middle of it.

As I was looking around I noticed that a big, white dog was standing next to me. I don't have a dog, but in my dream this was my dog. Suddenly the dog looked up at me and spoke. I couldn't understand the words she was speaking, but I understood that she wanted me to follow the road to the roof of the mountain. As I was walking up the road the dog spoke to me again. Again, the words was just jibberish, but I still understood. She told me not to look into any of the doorways with the bluish light.

Of course the stupid, curious dreaming me couldn't resist looking into the closest doorway even if my doggie friend had told me not to. I don't remember what I saw, but my reaction was "Oh no, I should have listened to the dog" so I'm guessing it' wasn't anything good. Out of the dark of the doorway my youngest sister, Madde, comes running towards me. "You had to look, didn't you" she yells and runs past me up the road. In panic I start running after my sister. I have a glimpse of me and my dog being chased by someone/something, but that part is kind of hazy.

Next thing I remember is my two younger sisters standing in a dried out, stone riverbed right under the roof of the hollow mountain. My sister, Tessa, points at one of the doorways and tells me I have to go inside and speak to the queen. So I walk through the doorway and find myself standing in a circular room with a throne in the middle. To my surprise I find that the queen is an ant (yes, the insect kind of ant) made of muddy, brown ice. The queen refuses to talk to me, but instead tells my highly intelligent dog that we have to save the mountain. The dog turns around and starts running for the exit. She runs down the road, with me right behind, until we get to an open space circa in the middle of the mountain. The ground starts rumbling and stones start falling from the ceiling. Suddenly one of the walls in the open space breaks open and an army of huge, metallic ants rushes through the hole. They kind of look like "Super Mario" ants with light beams on their heads.

My sisters seem to have caught up with me and they start throwing old video games at the ants. With no affect, of course. The dog speaks to me again and this time she tells me to jump of the road to get away from the ants. Since the dog is clearly smarter than me in this dream, I jump of the road land and in the fountain, which is no longer dry. The second I hit the floor the water in the fountain freezes to ice, also freezing mine and my dogs feet stuck, knee deep in the now solid fountain water. The dog looks at me as the ants are coming crashing down the road and says something really funny (I have no idea what). I start laughing and that is what wakes me up. Me laughing. Really loudly. I couldn't stop laughing for about 10 minutes after I woke up, even though I couldn't remember what was so funny...

So there you have it. My first Dream Journal entry.. More to come

I have a couple of dreams that I call "repeaters." I've dreamt these dreams from time to time since I was a little girl. When these dreams occur I instantly know that this is one of my repeaters, but I have no ability to change the course of events once the dream has started. They are always the same. The only thing that changes in these dreams are my clothing and my age.

Last night I had one of my repeaters. This is what happens:

      The Fisherman

I lie in the bow of an old, wooden, open fishing boat looking down into the ocean water. The weather is gray and the rainclouds are hanging like a dark woolen blanket over the sky. In the stern and old fisherman is steering the boat further out to sea. The fisherman is wearing a black rain hood and a large, open, blue rain coat over a typical Norwegian, black and white, knitted fisherman sweater. He is smoking pipe tobacco while keeping his eyes on the horizon. In my dream I know this man very well. I trust him, but I have no idea who he is.

Suddenly the fisherman stops the boat. I turn around looking at the fisherman in silence while he empty his pipe, knocking it against the rim of the boat and puts it in his pocket. He looks at me for a while and then says: "This is what you are looking for." I look around, only seeing the ocean and reefs for miles and miles. "I don't understand," I say. "There is nothing here." I always smile at him, thinking he must be joking. "No, this is what you are looking for" he says again. Before I can answer or do anything else the fisherman grabs me by the neck and throws me overboard. I draw my lungs full of ice cold, Norwegian seawater. Right before I drown, I see something in the water. My only thought is "This IS what I'm looking for." And then nothing.

In all my repeater dreams I am looking for something. I always find it, but I can never remember what it is... Since I can't remember what it is I see in the water, the dream is actually pretty pointless.

For the last week or so, dreams has been pretty much non existing for me. It seems that the darker it gets, the less I can remember about my dreams. I think maybe my mind is preparing it self for the 6 months of complete winter darkness that's on the way. That's what you get for living above the Polar Circle, I guess.. Here's the only dream I can remember:

      The flashlight

Last night I dreamt that I was standing on the porch of our summerhouse. My parents were standing on the lawn in front of the house discussing something. My father looks at me and says "We have to push the house a couple of meters backwards so it won't tip over in the winter storms." My mother and my father then starts to push the house back, towards the forest with me still standing on the porch. When they finally stop I jump down, over the hand rail. As soon as my feet touch the ground the house flips backwards, 180 degrees, and lands on the roof. My mother looks at my father and says "You know those not so good ideas of yours we talked about? This might be one of them.."

The next thing I remember is me and my two sisters, Tessa and Madde, and my brother Daniel, sitting under a large white birch about 20 meters away from the place our summerhouse used to be. We are all devastated by the fact that our summerhouse has been destroyed. It is late in the autumn and all the trees, except for the one we are sitting under, has lost all the leafs. I am holding my red and white flashlight in my hands. Tessa says "Why are you still holding on to that flashlight? You are not having one of your black dreams right now and it's not even dark.." (NOTE: Some time ago I had a lot of nightmares I called "the black dreams." The dreams was always the same. It was completely dark, none of the light switches in my apartment worked and someone was chasing me. When I told my father he gave me a red and white flashlight and said "When you can't find a light that works in your dreams, look for this flashlight. I promise you it will work." And it did. After that, when my siblings moved out one by one, he gave each of them a flashlight like mine and said that "This flashlight will always work when you need it the most."

Anyway. The flashlight has a button that can be pushed sideways. When I pushed the button in my dream we could travel in time. When I pushed the button to the left the time jumped backwards and when I pushed the button to the right the time jumped forward. Madde says "Push the button so we can go back and save the summerhouse." As I push the button the seasons change from winter, to autumn, to summer and back again. I can't remember if we managed to save the summerhouse, but the colors of the forest when it changed season in a matter of seconds was really spectacular...

Last night I had the worst nightmare I've had in a long time

      The Plague

I dreamt that I was walking down the street in my hometown. One of my friends, Linn, told me that I shouldn't touch or help anyone because everyone was dying of some sort of plague like disease. All the people that had already died was put in large glass containers with saltwater in them. These containers was placed on every street corner and they where all filled with dead people. They looked like big, round aquariums filled with humans instead of fish..

After a while I decided to hide in a cave to survive. The only thing I had managed to bring with me to the cave was a box of stuffed toys that looked like blue bananas. I was sitting there alone in the dark cave when my ear started hurting. I poked around the backside of my ear to find out what was causing the pain and when I looked at my hand it was filled with maggots and beetles that had been living behind my ear. Suddenly my white dog, that I don't have in real life but keeps showing up in my dreams, was sitting next to me. "That's how the plague starts," the dog said to me and looked at the creepy stuff in my hand.

After that the dream changed to something else, but I can't remember what.

I've had a lot of dreams this weekend, but only one of them are worth mentioning. As I have said before, I have dreams that I call repeaters. These are dreams that I've had from time to time since I was a child. Two days ago one of my repeaters showed up during the night.

      The book of wisdom

I stand on a dirt road at the foot of a grass covered hill. Along this small road there are four yellow houses standing in a vertical line with about 50 meters between every house. All these houses are identical to the house where my dad grew up, except for the color. In the real world the house is light blue. It is early dusk. The weather is gray and a drizzling rain falls from the sky.

I follow the road to the last house at the top of the hill. The house seem to be relatively new, even though this house is pretty decayed in real life. I walk up the steps and push down the door handle. The door is open. The house is identical to the real house inside. Even the smell is the same. I decide to walk up the narrow staircase to the second floor, where the bedrooms are. I continue to the last bedroom.

Inside the bedroom there is a small, wooden doublebed. On the left side of this bed there is a nightstand with an open book on it. It is a small, brown, leather bound and very beautiful book. I pick up the book and read. The pages are handwritten, as if it was a diary. My only thought is "Oh, my God! This is what I've been looking for! This is really important! I have to remember to write this down when I wake up!" Suddenly I hear someone coming up the stairs. It terrifies me because I know there is no one else here and this house has been empty for the past three decades. I close the book and hide beneath the bed..

Someone in heavy, black boots walks into the room and to the left side of the bed. He bends down and looks at me, like he knew that I was under there all along. I instantly recognize him from my other repeater dreams. (See "The fisherman" I have written about before.) He looks at me in silence for a while and the say "You know, If you dream about this three times it will happen in real life." He then leaves the room again, without saying anything else...

The instant I open my eyes and wake up, the things I read in the book is forgotten. I can never remember anything about the text. Not a single word..

Haha! What?! I'm not sure how that will help me remember what's written in the book, but thanks for the suggestion anyway

Last night I had three dreams that I can recall, but only one of them are worth mentioning.

      In the Swedish forest

I was walking through the forest, following a nearly hidden path. The forest around me was typical northern Swedish with tall pine trees, white moss and lingonberry sprigs as far as I could see. The sky was covered with thick, white clouds, it looked like the rain could start falling any minute. The heavy clouds made the forest dark like at dusk. The light was so faint that it almost didn't reach the ground. This type of forest is usually very quiet, but I could hear that someone was following me on a distance. I didn't take much notice of it, thinking it's probably just an elk or a curious reindeer.

Suddenly the forest ends and a large clearing with fences all around it appears in front of me. The grass in the clearing is high and it seems that it is not in use. I open the fence gate and continue walking. For some reason I turn around and look at the gate again. There are five very large heads, without bodies, piled on top of each other on the fence gate I just walked through. Their faces are painted white with black eyeliner and black lipstick. My only thought is "oh no, it's the Russians. They must have been the ones following me in the forest." I feel the panic creeping up my spine, but I say to myself "If I pretend that I haven't seen them, they will probably leave me alone."

I continue to walk, pretending nothing is wrong. Suddenly three or four men dressed in wolf fur coats, carrying shotguns jumps out from the forest right in front of me. They speak Swedish with a finnish accent (just like my grandmother, who is from Finland.) They look completely wild with large beards and double sided axes hanging on their backs. I assume that they are Swedish woodcutters, but the man closest to me tells me another story. They are hunting children, but fortunately for me, I am too old for them to hunt. I can see that everything is not as it should be with these men, aside from the fact that they are hunting children, and I draw the conclusion that the "Russian heads" are controlling them and making them crazy.

I hurry away from the wolf fur people towards the other side of the clearing, hoping that they will not change their minds about me being too old to hunt. When I reach the fence gate on the other side of the clearing, I see that there are Russian heads on this side aswell. They start shouting, sounding like monkeys and one of them yells "Off with her head, she is the one who tried to stop the revolution." The wolf fur people start running towards me with their axes in their hands. I decide to run in the opposite direction, figuring that I can just jump over the fence somewhere else. The clearing suddenly changes to a march. I get stuck and lose my new shoes. This is appearently a bigger problem than the wolf fur people because I forget all about them, and they disappear. Who said vanity is a bad thing?

Anyway. After that the dream changed to me sitting in my grandmothers living room. It was very uneventful so I'm not going to write about it..
