Post The Greatest Dream Journal Ever!

Alright... It's not all that great.

Yeah, I stole that from The Cusp, minus the colors.

      7/27/09 -7/28/09

      Roughly 1 AM:

I immediately saw the events of the day unfold before me mixed in with Army scenes (Airsoft War related probably). Vivid images of trench warfare, and guns blazing. They passed and blended into each other.

I relaxed for about 15 minutes, and then I started to go numb. Then there was a pins and needles sensation under my left jaw bone. At first it felt like a bug crawling on my skin. I was tempted to brush the "bug" away, but I didn't want to lose my relaxed state. The tingling built up over a few minutes to the point where it became a sharp pain, like a needle driving into my skin. I let the pain go on for about 10 minutes before I had to open my eyes and make sure that there wasn't anything there. There was nothing, and the pain faded away quickly. I felt more awake and alert, and I had a mild head ache. I was uncomfortable for some time, but I apparently fell asleep at some point, because the next time I looked at the clock was 6 AM.

      6 AM - 10 AM ish:

My Father and I were in my brother's room playing Xbox 360 and having popcorn. I don't know why, but we were listening to death metal... One of us spilled popcorn everywhere, and my brother became very angry. Then he calmed down and said, " It's alright, I've cleaned my room twice already today." The everything in the room except for the couch that I was on disappeared and my brother started vacuuming the popcorn from off of the floor.

I knew that something was wrong, but I just couldn't figure it out in time to become lucid.

      7/28/09 - 7/29/09

Just a bunch of images of cars racing
Then my whole body twitched... I guess thats the word. I don't know if it happens to other people, but sometimes when I'm completely relaxed, my body will just spasm. Maybe it's a test to see if I'm asleep or not?

      7/29/09 - 7/30/09

Nothing, nothing, and more nothing. It's very discouraging, and it's the reason why this post has two nights worth of dreaming.

Last night I had my first intentional lucid dream! (I've had them before, but never intentionally)

I went to bed with the thought that "I will have and remember a lucid dream"

I fell asleep and found myself looking down at a crowded city from the 3rd person.

I knew that something wasn't right, and I immediately gained a level of lucidity. Everything was blurry, and I remembered reading that you can fix this by telling yourself to make the dream clearer, and trying to focus on everything in the dream. I did this, and it worked perfectly.

The dream was narrated by Rorschach from Watchmen. (Quite odd...)
The first thing that I did once the dream became clear was run at super speed. It was cool, but not as awesome as I'd hoped. I then turned to fighting some thugs. After taking down a small group of them, I felt ready for the big leagues. I wanted to fly. I jumped off of the ground, and sure enough, I found myself being launched into the air. I was looking straight up at the sky (It was red and galaxy like)

The dream started to fade the higher I got. I think it was because I was too excited and aware of my physical body. Next time, I'll have to do more reality checks, and try to rub my hands together and focus my senses so that it feels even more realistic. I'm impressed that I managed to do so much in my first lucid dream.

I just got really lazy... I've had dreams but now I don't remember most of them. I also had another lucid dream, but I only partially remember that one. I guess I'll start recording my dreams again... perhaps.

Thats a good start! I look forward to reading more of your dreams!

PS: Alot of times when you fly real high up into the air you lose detail around you and this can destabilize your dream, thus causing you to wake up. This is probably what happened to you.
