Been a while since I posted.. but this is the most vivid dream night I've had in months. To the point where I could recall most of it.
I am in my old high school again. This is a very common location in my dreams. It's not really my high school as I remember it. It's more like a warped version. It's much bigger but the layout is pretty much the same. I remember walking across a bridge, then see my car on the other side. I remember going to the car and doing something. The dream is rather hazy...
*scene change*
This is the dream that I remember very vividly:
It all starts in my house. My mother is very sad for some reason. "What is it?" I ask her. "Something happened to my brother," she said. Her brother's in her home country, so she doesn't see him. They talk over the phone occasionally. Also, I can remember if her brother died or got in accident. One of those. "We have to go back in time and fix it," she tells me.
Time travel? I'm very skeptical for some reason. Then I realize that yeah, we DO have one. It's in my closet. It looks kind of like a coffee maker with one of those rotating dials that has 5 minute intervals and shuts itself off when the timer runs out.
"Go ask your brother how it works again," my mom tells me. So I go to his room and he says "You have to turn the dial to the right time you want."
"Oh yeah," I say, "That's how it works!" I go back to my room to my mother. My father walks in and hand me a giant paperback book about the size of a pillow. "This is your time traveling passport," he tells me. I flip through it. It has my birthday, time period, and other info. "So who's going with us?" I ask my mom. "Just me and you," she says. I don't remember how, but we take the machine to another time...
*scene change* (but it's still the same dream I think)
I'm now in a bookstore/library type place, which seems to be either in the neat future or far future. "Wait, this isn't the right time," I remember thinking. My mom is gone. Next to me is my friend. He's just a DC, I don't know who this guy is and I've never met him in real life. But in this dream I guess he plays my friend. A guy comes up to us. "Can you take my X downstairs?" The "X" is referring to a feriocious beast- lion or tiger or something like that, I can't remember. Also, the library/bookstore has three floors, so that's what he meant by downstairs. He heads downstairs with the lion. For some reason, I go outside.
It appears I'm at an outdoor mall somewhere in the future. I wander around for a little bit. Then I come back. Apparently, my friend died trying to take the lion/tiger thing downstairs. I mourn my friend's death. I try taking the stairs down to the 1st floor where he was. It's blocked off by a sign that says, "Do not enter, crime scene". I walk past it and head down anyways. In the corner of my eye I see a librarian but she doesn't bat an eye at me for ignoring the sign.
I am now downstairs. To the left I see a large crowd gathered around something. There's a policeman at the front of the crowd. He explains how the body was mauled. "It ripped his heart out and tore his cords!" I remember him saying. I didn't see the body because of the crowd (that would have been traumatizing).
I head back upstairs, in sadness. Then I turn around see the dead person alive behind me. But for some reason the dream has turned my friend who was male who died into Britney Spears (if that makes any sense, pretend Britney was the one who I arrived with at the beginning of the dream). "I knew you were alive! I guessed this was going to happen!" I say at Britney. "Of course I'm alive, silly. You think that lion would get me?" I turn around again. A bunch of her CDs are lined up in a rack. I remember thinking to myself, "Oh, that's what she means. She'll live on through her music. She's not really alive." The dream ends as I wake myself up.
