      Vidule's Dream Journal

Guess I'll start with the dream that made me come back to this forum, though I don't remember much of it as it was two nights ago. I'll then continue with the rest of my dreams from the next couple nights.

The first dream was brief. It took place in my grandfather's house, a place which seems to occur in quite a lot of my dreams. I was in the rec room, with a bunch of people. My cousin was in the dream before all this, but I don't remember much of it.

I was on the red sofa (now a different sofa, purple, but used to have a red one there), or on the floor directly in front of it, with a girl on my lap. I could change the way she looked, and settled with a girl that, to my knowledge, I have never seen before. She had short, black hair. She didn't seem to notice that she was sitting on me (fitting, ha), and after she got up, I started to become aware that I was in a dream, probably from the whole "changing her appearance" thing.

Struggling to maintain lucidity and control something in the dream, I was somewhat painfully pulled out of the dream, in what could be similar to sleep paralysis. The awakening is explained better in another thread of mine.

That's the extent of my dreaming of that night. I know that something more happened before all that, though I don't know what. I don't know why I had this dream, or its significance.
When I woke up, I was laying on my back, which is unusual, since I usually sleep on my side. Led me to believe I could only acquire a DILD by sleeping on my back, which isn't true, as I was on my right side tonight when I got another DILD.

The next night I didn't remember anything when I woke; no memories of dreams from that night, nothing. Possibly from sleep deprivation.

Tonight, or last night, I had a multitude of dreams, so I guess it was kind of hard not to achieve lucidity, even though it still bewilders me, as I'm pretty new at this.

I'm not especially sure of the order in which these dreams came, but I'm fairly sure the next one was the first, and I'm certain on the order of the last three dreams. The others are hazy.

First dream was a Fire Emblem-themed dream (FE7, Blazing Sword, to be exact). I was in a castle, with a queen (who was actually the present Queen of England). I think I dreamt in third person for the first half of the dream, and I looked like Eliwood, and I was of course riding a horse. Or, if I was only observing at that time, then Eliwood was there on his horse. Whichever.

I don't quite remember how it started, but suddenly, monsters and skeletons began to appear, possibly from a room in the castle. Anyway, I raced out of that room, as there were dozens of high-level monsters in there (I suppose they'd be similar to FE8's monsters, FE8 being The Sacred Stones). They, of course, chased after me, and I picked up the queen and headed out the castle. I charged towards a big tower (which was really only a huge monolith with a ladder leading up to the top, which had some crenellations for protection), hoping to stave off the fiends from there.

Then, the rest of my party (which was much larger than in the game, for some reason) appeared, and were trying to climb the tower to get away from the monsters. This is probably where I went into first-person. I began picking them up off the ladder, and tossing them behind me onto the area of the tower directly behind me. It was like trying to pick up handfuls of pick-up sticks, oddly enough. Because there were so many of us, we were starting to run out of space on the tower, but I finally lifted everyone to safety. I don't remember much after that.

I'm fairly certain that I woke up after this dream, otherwise I wouldn't be able to remember it, seeing as how it was the first of perhaps four, five, or six dreams that night. The reason the Queen of England was there is probably because I had read a snippet about her the previous day. Why my party appeared out of nowhere was probably a joke about the Fire Emblem series, as during cutscenes, only the most important characters of the game are there, usually, and then when you start the battle, everyone appears as if they were trailing behind for some unknown reason. Why it was Fire Emblem-themed, I don't know. It really should have been about Advance Wars, as I had been playing AW2 the past few days. Go figure.

Alright, so, as I said, the next dreams in order are extremely hazy, and because of that, I have no real memory other than an inkling that they happened. There's a chance they didn't (I'll just say dejá vù for now), so I'll go with one that I know happened. It's quite short.

Another one centered around a video game, and for those of you who haven't played Shadow of the Colossus, this won't make much sense, I expect. Anyway, it took place in what's called the Ancient Forest, if I'm not mistaken. There's a save shrine in there, it's dark, and has about three entrances (and one exit, being down a waterfall. Not the recommended exit). There's also some small streams of water (obviously, considering the aforementioned waterfall). You'll probably come across it on your way to the sixth or thirteenth colossus. Quite pretty.

Unfortunately for this idyllic woods, I was setting it aflame in my dream. The fire spread very quickly, much of it blazing at the treetops, and I was racing for the west entrance/exit to escape it. When I reached there, the area wasn't how it was in the game, though it was similar, I suppose. Instead of a path, it was more of a bridge, and it was much longer.

I soon found myself being chased by what I can only assume was Wander atop Agro, firing arrows at me. I dodged a couple, but I think I was ultimately hit by one, which may have ended the dream. What I'm certain is that the dream ended at this point, though I don't know if I woke up. I'm under the impression that I didn't.

I don't know the significance or symbolism of this dream, unless it's my mind telling me to play this game again. Can't think of a reason why I shouldn't. It also gives me a goal for if/when I become adept at lucid dreaming, that being to fight a colossus or two, or sixteen.

The next dream was the longest, which is a pity, because I don't remember all of it. It may have even been broken into segments, though I'll talk more about that at the end of it. I'm fairly certain it started out when I was walking along a road, which was an actual road that I've been to many times. I'm pretty sure I was following it east (well, I'm actually not sure on the direction, but in my mind, it was east, though it could have been north, or south, or whatever. Let's say I was walking rightwards), which is odd since I think I was going home, which is the other way. Maybe I was going to my grandfather's, which, again, seems to appear in many of my dreams.

I don't know how I got to the next place, which is where most of the dream takes place, but the next thing I know, I'm there. It wasn't my house, or my grandfather's house, though it was a big house, and near the end of the dream, it "transformed" into my grandfather's house.

Anyway, inside I met this boy, and his father. I don't think the boy had a mother, since there was no one else there. The boy didn't remind me of anyone in my life, but the father was an exact replica of someone I know, though in the dream, he was someone else. Well, he wasn't at first, but he also "transformed' into that guy. It's like looking at something in a dream, turning around, then back, and the next thing it's something different, or gone altogether. It was actually the trigger for my last dream, which was a DILD I think, if 5-10 seconds of lucidity counts.

Back to the current dream, I remember being in their living room, not having met them yet, actually. It's a bit hazy, but I think I was looking through their video game collection. The father may have been playing one.

All I remember next is going into another room, and meeting the boy. He had black hair, and was wearing a t-shirt. That's all that stands out about him, meaning I can't describe faces well, and don't remember all the details of what he was wearing. He was either playing video games, or on the computer, or both.

It's possible I asked him to use his computer, because later in the dream, I was using it. I don't remember all the events of this dream, but I remember the father being mean towards his son, using the bathroom (the bathroom was odd, in that the area around the toilet had walls of glass, though the rest of the bathroom was normal), using the computer (I was downloading a torrent of something or other; don't remember), talking with one of my cousins, and realizing, when I woke up, that partway, the house turned into my grandfather's. Before that, the house really was a different house, and I was getting a bit lost at times.

The boy seemed standoffish towards me at first, but later became more affable. Once the father became the guy I know, he became quite angry in his demeanor, and mean towards both his son and myself.

At the end of the dream, I found myself in my grandfather's kitchen, with a few relatives, including my mother, grandfather, and my aunt (the mother of the cousin I had spoken with earlier). I think they were talking about the boy and his father, though I don't remember what they were saying. This pretty much marks the end of the dream, and I'm fairly certain it segued into another dream.

I really don't know much of why I had this dream. I'm fairly sure, though, and the torrent represents a torrent that I've been downloading at my grandfather's, who has a high-speed connection, and I don't. Suffice it to say that I'm in an area that isn't offered high-speed, so downloading 1.5 gigs takes weeks. As for everything else, anyone's guess is as good as mine.

Alright, the next part is a bit short. All I remember was a news report (I think) about some man who was hosting or performing at a concert, and violently yelling at an audience member.

The concert was outside, and if the man was facing southwards, I was at the southeast corner, looking at him yelling at the person. That's about it, yeah. Very short. The man had glasses, and auburn hair, if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps a black vest, open. I think the microphone he was using was on a stand.

This dream was interesting, as was the previous one, because it gave me severe dejá vù. I felt like I dreamt about the boy, his father, and their strange house twice before, and the same goes for the yelling man, though I have no recollection of any previous dreams of them other than dejá vù. Maybe it was only suggested in my dream that I knew these people previously. Makes one question their own memory. Very strange. After all that, I woke up.

The last dream of the night was lucid, at the end, for a few seconds. It took place in my grandfather's house again, at first, though near the end of the dream, it was an amalgamation of his house, a friend's house, a house which I have a feeling I've been to before, perhaps even my own (though not quite), and architectural characteristics belonging to none of those.

The dream started out with me using my grandfather's computer, and my sister asking me to look at her school pictures, or something. Something to do with school and pictures. My mother was there, as well, also requesting that my sister see those pictures.

I obliged, and then for some reason this girl began talking to me on an instant messaging program. I could see a picture of her for some reason while talking to her, and she seemed really young. She was smiling, and for some reason I wondered if the webcam was on at my end, because it seemingly was on hers. I began to try to turn it off through the control panel, and I think in between that process, we conversed, though I don't remember what we conversed about.

Then it gets sort of hazy, though I remember being in the middle of the stairs, which were against a wall. There was an opening in the wall which one could crawl through, and I did, and inside was a small room with perhaps a computer screen. There were pictures displayed there of a woman that, in the dream, was a neighbour/friend of my mother's, though I've never seen that woman in real life. Anyway, the pictures were quite racy, some nude, and I don't remember much after that.

The next thing I know, or remember, I'm upstairs, sort of. The stairs led into the bathroom, which had doors leading to three or four rooms, two on each side. Convenient, since I realized I had to take a leak. The neighbour/friend of my mother's walked by wearing a towel from one of the rooms on the right, to one on the left. The bathroom was odd in that I remember seeing three toilets, one near the door, the other in between the two doors on the left, and the third being in the middle of the unusually large bathroom, slightly to the left and to the back wall (opposite the stairs).

I went for the latter toilet, though I found it shrunk smaller and smaller, to the point where I could only urinate for about half a second, flush, and repeat. I got fed up with that, and went to the one in between the two doors, but for some reason it became a clothes hamper in the middle of me urinating into it. Fantastic.

I went for the last toilet, but the same thing happened. I first tried to clean up the "spill" with a sock, but I got fed up again, and began to walk downstairs, and I got about halfway. The staircase now was reminiscent of a friend's.

I was still urging to use the bathroom, and I was also getting a bit turned on from the half-naked woman in the towel walking by at this point. Or maybe I was aroused for no reason at all. Made the predicament more awkward, I'll say that.

Around this point, it dawned on me that I was in a dream. Maybe it was the shrinking toilet, the other two that morphed into clothes hampers, or the fact that a half-naked woman didn't shriek out in horror of my presence, but I realized that I must be dreaming. I remained calm, somehow, so I wasn't pulled out of the dream as quickly. In fact, I estimate I would have retained lucidity if not for the fact that I was still horny (and in need of a restroom), so when I tried to make a girl appear, it didn't work, and I was pulled out of the dream.

This awakening wasn't painful at all, for which I'm glad. What happened was this white, probably 50-pronged, rotating star appeared and "star-wiped" me out of the dream, that is to say it got bigger and bigger until all I could see was white, then I woke up.

I don't know why I had this dream, at all. It's probably sexual because I was somewhat aroused before falling back asleep. As for the urination, I did have to pee once I got up, but thankfully nothing happened while I was sleeping, though I'd have to say urinating in a dream is never a good sign.

That's the extent of my dreaming for the last few nights. It's extremely long, I'd say. I don't expect many people will read it without skimming through the majority of it.

For some reason, I remember telling myself that I had two dreams last night, but I can only remember one. Nothing lucid tonight.

This one had to have been the second, as I woke up afterwards. I was a reporter, sent on assignment to interview some people in the countryside, for some reason. It was bright and sunny as I was walking down the road, past a tall wooden fence, coming upon a small house and two boys tilling the field adjacent. Looking elsewhere, there seemed to be miles of green pastures, though no livestock.

I went up to one of the boys, who had blond hair, and began asking him questions, pointing a microphone to him. He didn't seem very interested, so I went to the other boy, and realized he was the twin to the one I had just met. He also didn't want to talk, and both of them then went inside their house.

I followed them to the house, the yellow paint of which had been weather-beaten and in need of a new coat. The two boys swung open the screen door, and vanished inside. As I came up to the door, a young girl and her incredibly obese mother came over and sat down at the entrance. I could see their balding father inside, sitting at the kitchen table, looking at me, not saying anything. One of the twins sat down at a couch at the far end of the room, adopting the same behavior as his father.

I began to ask the young girl and her portly mother questions for my interview, though I can't remember the questions, nor the answers. After a few minutes of questioning, I woke up from this rather mundane dream.

The day before, I had been watching an interview with Michael Ignatieff in which he was stressing the importance of rural areas in Canada, so I'm guessing that's what this dream reflected.

After I had been awake for what I'd guess was a half hour, I began to try to go back asleep, but I got what I assume was SP, with the same cacophony I had back a few days ago, in that other thread I made. The difference being that the other time I experienced this, I was becoming awake, not going back to sleep, and I don't remember any SP during, only the loud noise and slight vision fuzziness. Anyway, it effectively woke me up for good.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure now that the cacophony happens only in dreams. Could be during false awakenings, not sure.

Anyway, guess I'm not very diligent when it comes to keeping a dream journal. That may change after getting my first few DEILDs two nights ago, and my first WILD just last night. Then again, maybe it won't. DEILDs seem to be more reliable than DILDs, not sure about WILDs.

Actually getting into the dream for the WILD was different and perhaps more difficult than the DEILDs. Obtaining SP wasn't different, but seemed to be more difficult, as I had to roll over onto my other side. It seemed to me that I had to put more effort into actually getting to sleep than with the DEILDs, but I could be wrong. At any rate, the WILD was tougher because of external noises, namely my mom snoring. But that's the same with any dream, lucid or not. Snoring, birds, gulping (could be the forming of a tick, I hope not), television noises that could wait until the later morning...

Anyway, the WILD itself was pretty great, as I flew for the first time. Or, I suppose I should say I levitated, as I don't think I went very high, nor very quickly.

I started out by sort of "sleeping into" the room in which I was asleep. I didn't really check to see if my body was behind me, but I highly doubt it was an OOBE. I walked to the door, but instead of just opening it, I wanted to try breaking it with my mind. The first attempt didn't work, but the second attempt made the door split vertically into three pieces, which both slid down in an opening in the floor, bouncing slightly when they hit the bottom, until the tops were completely at ground level. I went through the doorway, and I think I saw my mother and sister, but I could be mistaken. I went to the bathroom, then into my mom's room, and for some reason, there was a door there instead of a window. I went through that, and was outside.

From the colour of the leaves, you could guess that it was autumn, and from the sky, evening. I wanted to fly, and after trying for a bit, I started hovering in the air, in probably an odd position to most, but it actually wasn't too bad. I started going forward from the exit of my house, over some trees, to a "ghost land"-sort-of-place. It was very dark, with little grass, trees, or any other wildlife. There may have been a skeleton, not quite sure.

I remember wanting to go faster, so I adopted one of those Superman poses, which actually didn't help much, but I was still in the air, so eh.

After the graveyard-like area, I came upon this western/medieval area. Think Kakariko village in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, only smaller, more centralized, with perhaps higher cliffs, and medieval warriors such as swordfighters and archers.

I flew over the south gate, and found a battle taking place between the villagers and an invading force. I started to help the villagers by killing the invading force with projectiles and small sort of "energy blasts", which were actually unlike those in Dragon Ball and its sequels. At some point, I went over another gate. The gates were crude, made from more wood than stone, but built very high. Oh, and the invading force was dressed in gray garb.

After whittling down the invading force, I decided to go down this hole in a roof (not a chimney), where I found some people hiding, and hoarding some gold. I decided to take some pay for helping the villagers, and began putting it into a bag on my back. The bag wasn't there before, so this may have been where I started to lose lucidity. If not then, then shortly after, as after taking two bags of gold coins, they started turning into pieces of corn, and other yellow things. A man was talking to me, though I don't remember what he said. The dream ended shortly after that.

The DEILDs were nothing special, except at the first. Situated in a blue, fantastical land, perhaps befitting fairies, as I remember some mushrooms. Reminded me of Alice in Wonderland for some reason. Perhaps it was the talking cats, which had anthropomorphic features.

After travelling through some unspectacular areas, and waking up a few times (of course DEILDing back into the dream), it quickly took a downward turn into a sexual dream-saga, as I am 17-years-old and dumb enough to let that happen. Could have done something much more fun, like what happened the next night, but no. Oh well.

That's the extent of my lucid dreams these past...months. I've had some interesting or whimsical normal dreams, maybe I'll post them, as well.
