      Ben's interesting experiences

Raven Knight suggested that I start a dreamjournal on this site. My dream recall at this point is almost too good and there is simply more that I dream about than I have time to write down. Ill bw writing down only my most interesting dreams.

I was in my old Taekwondo studio in California where I am from originally. Everyone there was glad to see me after I had been gone in Germany. My friend Ross from Germany was there for some reason. I realized I had left something at home so Ross and I left to get it. As we were walking I realized I was wearing black Taekwondo pants. "Thats funny" I thought. "I dont own black taekwondo pants." Then I told Ross "I dont own black Taekwondo pants so I must be dreaming" At this point I didnt actually think I was dreaming. The environment seemed all too real to be a dream. I wanted to tell Ross about lucid dreaming because it might interest him. I walked down the street to show him that because reality tests fail I am not dreaming. I thought how stupid I must look to him crouching and trying to fly. Instead, the sidewalk bent down in a concave shape and I took off flying and spinning like a rocket ship. Ross looked up at me in disbelief. I remember thinking "theres no way". I was so surprised that I lost the dream and had a false awakening. I didnt expect dreams to be that real. Its because my memories of dreams are clauded that I thought the dreams themselves are clouded, but this is not the case. I now know that total clarity does not mean I am not dreaming.

Note: purple is used to represent focusing on something and hypnogogic imagery, but not full dreaming.

A couple of nights later I tried to WILD again. I decided a dream with more action would be better. I did my deep relaxation tecnique andpictured myself facing the main canal in Venice. What I am about to describe was not a complete dream. It was more of a mental fantasy that I got really involved in. So I was standing on the edge of the Canal. I decided to fight some goblins. I looked around for my dreamjournal. I saw that it was on some steps that went underwater. I picked it up and carried it with me. I turned the corner to the main bridge in Venice. There were soldiers fighting off goblins which were trying to cross the bridge. I didnt know what to do to fight off the goblins. I opened my dreamjournal and the pages flew around like they were blown by a wind. It opened to a random page where there was a picture of a beam of light coming from the clouds. The word "divinos" was written beside it. I said "divinos" and a beam of yellowish light came from the sky. A sword and sheild came down the beam of light into my hands. I then proceeded to fight the goblins off with these magical weapons. I would use the sheild to knock the goblins flat on their backs, while killing tons of them with the sword. I realized I could do spinning jumps like I did in front of Ross while fighting. I would jump above the reach of the goblins and do spinning slices with the sword. This was really fun and more realistic. I thought at this point I might be getting closer to ful dreaming. I did a massive spinning jump in to the sky and came flew back towards the ground like a missile stabbing the gound with the sword. This made a huge shock wave which killed all of the goblins on the bridge. I used a bow that I decided I had to kill off some goblins in the distance. Next a line of goblins came all marching together. I said "divinos" and another weapon came down from the sky. It was a quiver full of throwing swords. I think I chose this weapon instead of letting my subconscience decide what it was. I began throwing the curved short swords at some of the goblins. When I would throw a sword my view would chase the sword as it was spinning toword the target. I could alter the course of the sword while it was in mid air. I decided this wouldnt be enough to kill off all of the goblins so I opened the dreamjournal again for more creative insight from my subconscience. It opened to a page with a picture of a jellyfish on it. I forget what the words were, but when I said them, dozens of stinging tentacles came ount of my fingertips. I sort of floated in midair over the bridge. I killed goblins by just touching them with the tentacles. I killed all but a few huge goblins much bigger than the rest. I opened my dreamjournal again. There was a picture of dragonflies and the enscription was "volando draconis" After I said these words millions of dragonflies filled every space. I was invisible. They had no idea where I was amongst the swarm, but I could see their shadows for some reason. I climbed on top of an archway on the entrance of the bridge. I killed them off with throwing swords. I crossed the bridge and began climbing the building across the bridge. I climbed to the top of the tiled roof and saw a courtyard full of goblins. Some were on a podium giving speech. I tried to shot them with my bow, but I couldnt figure out how to use it for some reason. I threw a sword and guided it to one of their necks. I got their attention and goblins started climbing to the top of the roof. I started having a rooftop battle when I was woken up to a loud noise.
I had many non lucid dreams that night that I remembered.

Last night one of my dreams lasted a week.

I woke up (false awakening) in a small cot in a cabin. For some reason I though I was in Australia. I met up with my spanish class. Apparently it was some sort of spanish class trip to australia. We took a hike on a trail with amazing scenery. I still vividly remember the shadows that some of the trees made. We were going on a walk because one of the tallest mountains in Australia was near our cabin. We walked to the top of the mountain and the summit was surrounded by barbed wire. My friend touched it to see if it was electric. I was dissapointed that I couldnt see the top of the mountain. We walked around the barbed wire to see its surroundings. I looked around and noticed that it was actually just a hill and that there was a port with lots of ships near it. We headed back to the cabin.

I woke up the next day (another false awakening) in the same cot. I walked into one hall where my mom was talking to my spanish teacher. My teacher said I didnt do well on the last test, but that the next test in on mexican food. I told my mom I would surely do well on the next test.

The next day (yet another false awakening) I got up out of the cot and looked through my luggage for something to wear. I went into the kitchen because I wanted to make some Chai tea. When I arrived in the kitchen there was some guy in there who said that he was usung the sink for distilling. I looked in the sink and there were various dirty pots and pans full of hot dirty water. I thought he was an idiot. I walked back into my room with the cot and my great aunt was lying on the cot. I thought she must have just arrived and was tired from her travels.

The next day (in the dream) I went to a college admissions office for an interview. I remember they were giving me all kinds of wierd tests like an ADD test. I thought it was completely rediculous. I thought I might be dreaming.
I opened my eyes expecting to wake up in the cot again, but I actually woke up instead realizing how rediculous it was to have a spanish class trip to Australia.

This is actually helpful because it has shown that the reality checks that I currently use are very flawed. When I do reality checks I ask myself "how did you wake up this morning" and "where are you". In most of my nonsensical dreams it could work (even though it hasnt yet) but in this dream whenever I wondered where I woke up I would remember the cot. Whenever I wondered where I was I would think Australia.

Does anyone have a really efficient reality check? I prefer mental reality checks because if you do them enough you can build a conciousness that you are or are not dreaming all the time. But, fact checking doesnt work. My subconcious mind in more clever than I thought. It actually created memories and information that didnt exist in order to get past the reality checks and keep me believing Im dreaming . Its almost like my subconcious doesnt want me to be lucid.
