      Shrodesy's Dream Journal

This is my first LD experience, on Feb.8, 2010

I always have crazy dreams, and have been able to wake up and remember alot of them for as long as I can remember (especially after travelling South America and taking a certain type of malaria pill that had "vivid dreams" as a possible side-effect. They worked EXTREMELY well. Both my travel partner and I had the most intense vivid dreams (not lucid) and would wake up and tell each other countless dreams we could recall from the night before). So lately I've been doing research and stumbled across lucid dreaming. I thought I knew what lucid dreaming was, but in reality I had only had vivid dreams.

So I went to bed and did a few relaxation techniques (that are in themselves an amazing feeling). I had written down a few dreamsigns that occur often in my dreams (Going back 10-15 years in time, being around friends who are dead, living in a different part of the world I've travelled to, being intimate w/ past girlfriends etc), and had a plan if the dream started to become unstable. I would do the spinning on the spot technique.

I remember vividly still the 1st lucid dream. I was in some mining camp out in the desert. I thought that it was bizarre, so I looked at my hands. All of a sudden it felt like my entire universe went from watching a race car video game- to actually racing a car in real life. I realized I was now awake in my own dream. It was the single coolest/mind-blowing experience of my life. But since I was brand new to the whole experience, I didn't stabilize my dream and found myself starting to spin (unintentionally) and raise off the ground as the dream started to dissapear. I was then floating 300ft off the ground but couldn't get down. I then woke up.

I did WILD and got lucid in another dream. This time I was at some unknown house with a friend. I was excited to be lucid but didn't want to start flying off the ground out of control. I started floating and spinning out of control again...so I got my friend to try and tie me to the ground. That wouldn't hold and soon I went flying out of control out the window. I was pissed off more than anything, knowing that it was MY dream but I couldn't even control my own body. I woke up again.

I did the WILD technique and became lucid yet again. At first I was just in a normal dream, ontop of a huge skyscraper w/ a few friends. We all had superpowers (like the movie Hancock). I looked down and seen my cousin getting mugged and beat up by a few thugs. I yelled at them, but didn't fully believe that I could fly...so I didn't fly down. But for some reason the building started swaying back and forth and I fell off. At first I was panicking...but then I said out loud "This is a dream. Look at your hands!" I did and immediately became lucid and knew I could fly. So I flew over to my cousin. The muggers couldn't believe their eyes. They tried escaping (already in their van), but I flew over and picked up the van and tossed it a good mile away. But then the police showed up and wanted to arrest me. I decided I didn't deserve to be arrested so I flew to the top of a different building. Then started spinning out of control and lost lucidity.

Again woke up and did WILD. I was only lucid for a few moments because I started spinning and raising off the ground at an incredible rate. Then I went into a normal dream.

The 4th time I went lucid that night I sat in a field and talked to an old childhood girl friend for awhile.

      This is addicting!

2nd LD (Feb.10) No more out-of-control spinning! Walked on walls and ceilings

I had 5 lucid dreams that I can remember! I think I may have had 1 or 2 more but when I'd wake up, I just wanted to go back into another one without getting up and writing it down. Not ONCE did I start spinning out of control either

The 1st one, I was in some hotel room w/ an OLD friend and realized that it would be impossible for us to be hanging out. Did RC and became lucid. I didn't feel the need to go explore much, I knew that I would be having more lucid dreams...so instead I made myself float around the room, like there was no gravity(I did so by verbally saying out loud that it was my dream and I could control it). It was such an amazing feeling. Soon everything started to fade, although I tried to focus really hard on staying in the dream (I forgot to do a number of things such as: stabilize the dream by looking around and touching things, try and smell what the room smelled like or what temperature it was etc, rub my hands together, verbally say "dream focus", or start spinning on the spot.) I woke up. Although it could have been a FA b/c I almost immediately went back to sleep, in the exact same hotel room.

I became lucid almost immediately b/c I recognized the room from the previous lucid dream. I enjoyed floating w/o gravity so much I decided to do it again. But this time I wanted music, so I made my favorite song start playing as I jumped around the room. My friend just laughed in amusement. Soon everything faded and lost lucidness. Don't remember if I started dreaming for awhile before next lucid dream or if I woke up.

But when I did begin the 3rd lucid dream, it was in the SAME hotel room again.
This time, I remembered to stabalize. I did so by going and touching the nearest things and looking at them in detail. I touched the table against the wall, felt how cold/warm it was, and how smooth it was. Then I touched the DVD player ontop of it, same thing, felt how warm it was. I noticed it was dusty and wiped my finger along it and made a streak in the dust. I continued to touch a few other things, then knew the room was definitely stable enough. So I thought about what I wanted to do. I decided I wanted to go meet a famous celebrity who was staying in the same hotel (after all...I decided I was in Banff...and many celebrities go there for holidays). So I "found" my favorite clothes laying on the floor, and began looking for my hotel room card. Sure enough it was in my wallet. I walked out and into the hallway and started walking away when I realized I had no idea what room I was in. The dream started "shaking" like I was about to lose lucidity...so I ran up to the door and decided what room number it was. 111, no 615...how about 220. Yup 220. And the whole time I was deciding what number it was(why that was such a big decision?), they would appear on the door and change as I thought of a different number. Then once I settled on 220 I went downstairs. I went outside and decided I'd rather see an old girlfriend. Sure enough she was outside. But as I walked up to her she started changing slightly, becoming heavier and less attractive. This dissappointed me (It's my dream...I wanted my dream girl haha). I soon lost lucidity.

The next one started as a very intense fantasy-like dream. I was standing ontop a high mountain, overlooking the most beautiful city made of stone. It looked like something that would have been in Lord of the Rings. I decided it was too unreal, did a RC...and became lucid. It was extremely beautiful. I just stared at the colorful sky as the sun was setting over the city and ocean beside it. I decided I NEEDED to go explore this amazing place. There were people riding horses all over the place. I arrive to the beach and noticed a group passing a soccer ball. Soccer being one of my favorite sports, I couldn't wait to try my "lucid" legs out. I think b/c I had read that it can be difficult to run while lucid, I found it more challenging then I imagined. As I was fumbling w/ my feet and the ball I remember thinking how limiting it was for me to read about other ppl's limitations in THEIR dreams...and how I shouldn't let other ppl's limits effect me. Almost instantly I became very good at controlling the ball. A dog was trying to get it from me and I ran around it in circles and wow'd my audience w/ my precision and accuracy in my abilities to keep the ball juggling w/ my feet. I then kicked the ball to them to continue on. I ended up meeting a whole bunch of my family...but soon lost lucidness and it became a weird dream that was almost nightmare-ish.

My last lucid experience that I can remember, I was sitting on a bed in some random place. I knew something didn't feel right. Did RC and became lucid. I was talking to only one girl on the bed but decided I wanted a whole bunch of my girl friends there. So as I slowly turned my head, more and more of my female friends were in the bedroom with me. I decided that the bedroom was MY bedroom in MY dream home. So I left the ladies to explore my house. There was slate everywhere(after all...I was a tile setter for 5 years). I went to the kitchen and was very surprised to see how high the table and counters were...after all I am only 5'8. But I was stoked on how HUGE the place was. Unfortunately I was then woke up by my alarm. : (
